Fair point. Noses, ears, and fingers do exist in the LEGO universe, but how they‘re handled varies quite a bit Elves have ears, Pinocchio and Voldemort (ironically) have noses, and a lot of SW alien minifigs feature both. Personally, I wouldn’t mind if they kept Enoch’s nose, but I also wouldn’t miss it if they decided against having it. Enoch is likely a human (or at least near-human), so removing it from his helmet would be consistent with most human minifigs, but then again, it’s only the helmet, which we have no other examples of They don’t usually modify helmets much… Quote
Tariq j Posted May 22, 2024 Posted May 22, 2024 Thrawn and Ezra both look really good. I think Ezra’s eyes will take a bit of getting used to though. Quote

SnoopBobbyBob Posted May 22, 2024 Posted May 22, 2024 I feel like the missing code cilinders is quite a big mistake. The front of the torso is quite similar to the Rebels version, except we have a correct rank plaque not but not the right amount of cilinders, meaning that in the two versions of the grand admiral non of them are screen accurate. I do like the back of the torso though, but during display you mostly won't see that. Quote

I see a lot of people on Reddit and so on mocking others for raising this as an issue but code cylinders are part of the Imperial rank system and should be represented properly. They managed it with the previous Thrawn and the 2016 Tarkin. Quote

Lego is a super-premium product (and priced accordingly), getting prints right should be expected when they have correct source material available to them. A wrong print costs them as much as an accurate print, anyway, so there is that... However, I do have to disagree slightly on another point: screen accuracy. We do not get a screen accurate Peridea-Thrawn... in a Peridea-set. While I do understand the wish for a pristine Grand Admiral's uniform, I would have preferred the screen accurate look. And that means big belly and worn fabric. Quote

Both, none. I'm serious about the eye thing and Filoni — he started with animated project which allow more stylistic choices (such as more prominent eye colours), but for some reason he started adapting them too literally into live-action. It's a really weird choice that I hate, because not only does it look utterly ridiculous, but it has to be extremely uncomfortable for all the actors involved. As for LEGO, while they could make normal eyes for those characters, it's hard to blame them since the eyes of live-action Filoni characters like Ezra or Ahsoka are so prominent. Quote
Yperio_Bricks Posted May 22, 2024 Posted May 22, 2024 But there's still a big difference between Ezra's blue eyes in the Ahsoka show and the blue eyes of the leaked Lego minifig. The minfig looks like he stared into the sun for much too long. Quote
JohnTPT17 Posted May 22, 2024 Posted May 22, 2024 Frankly, I don't like the colored eyes on most minifigures, even if they are an alien. The only exception to this for me is if they're white, showing they're blind, or if they're some other color to show they're possessed/doing something magical (like Frodo or Merry Rumwell from the D&D set). And, if you are going to have colored eyes, be sure they have some kind of black pupil, unless, again, you're going for some kind of blind or magic effect. I think the plain black and white eyes feel much more "classic Lego" to me, and look better in the vast majority of cases. I mean, just look at the difference between the 2016 Emperor and the 2023 Emperor. You can't tell me that the face is an upgrade. Just adding in a pupil does a LOT for the eyes, and Lego really needs to add them back in. Quote

Okay, I can sort of get that. Ezra's live action eyes were too intense but I found it easily forgivable, but there have been a lot of weird animation to live action adaptations for aliens in star wars recently. And please no-one make that stupid argument about the caricaturised characters in TCW excusing the total change of the established looks of alien characters and species. The Pykes went from bugs to fish. At the end of the day it's not a deal breaker for me but it is still somewhere they could do better. Though they don't always get it wrong, one of the Accolyte trailer has a great looking live action Karkodon ( Riff Tamson's species) @JohnTPT17 Amazing, everything you just said was right. Kaijumeister Posted May 22, 2024 Posted May 22, 2024 The more I’m seeing of the Acolyte trailers and TV spots, the more I hope some surprise sets are planned for August / September. I’m usually weary of merchandise pushes for content we know little of / characters we aren’t yet invested in, but the characters just look so damn good. On a random note, has anyone with the 2024 Sith Infiltrator added a hood and cape to Darth Maul? If so, can he fit in the ship with them on? I’m assuming the reason they weren’t included is because the interior is a pretty tight fit. Quote

The coloured eyes were a mistake when they first started doing them back in 2013 and I wish they realised and stopped back then. The only characters who should have anything other than the plain black eyes with a white dot are Sith (who should have yellow with black pupils) or special cases like Chirrut to show that he is blind. The only other one I'm ok with is Thrawn since his red eyes are a prominent part of his design. Edited May 22, 2024 by CallumPears Quote

You don't really notice them once you put them in, and colored ones rarely affect your vision at all- most frequently if your pupil dilates while you're wearing a cheaper/less made-to-fit set, which I have to assume they aren't doing for Hera and Ezra's actors. The eye color thing doesn't bother me much, if I had to choose a filoni gripe (in terms of more substantial stuff it's probably the need for the characters he created or gave personality to to be in everything. Let Tales focus on characters people like who don't have their own show already, man!), it'd be the fact that everyone has to have a blue lightsaber now. Ahsoka in the siege of mandalore. Peridea Ezra. Depa Biliba. Why? 3 hours ago, JohnTPT17 said: Frankly, I don't like the colored eyes on most minifigures, even if they are an alien. I'm just headcanoning that Peridea enhances an individual's connection to the force, hence why jedi-trained but not force-sensitive sabine was able to use it in a time of need, and why Ezra, who lived there for like a decade, has such distinctive eyes- he is glowing with magical power- force powers. But like I said, that's pretty much just my interpretation/headcanon. Until it becomes canon, I can understand the eye gripe to an extent. 3 hours ago, Agent Kallus said: The Pykes went from bugs to fish. CloneCommando99 Posted May 23, 2024 Posted May 23, 2024 The R2 KT set. Are we even sure the fig list is even correct at this point. Because when you think about it 3x stormtroopers and 3x rebel troopers is an unprecedented combo of minifigures. Could it perhaps be an imperial stormtrooper, clone trooper and FO stormtrooper to represent the different eras of Star Wars. And then the rebels are opposing factions to the white armour throughout the eras. I’m just saying that I’m a bit sceptical of that fig list after the whole ISD debacle. Quote

I use the browser and it sometimes makes it so you can only see nine posts, or, right now, just a handful more than that, most of them fairly old. I believe this stems from an attempt to "combat misinformation" or whatever, I remember it being especially hard to find recent posts around US elections, so expect it to get worse as we get closer to November. Because clearly Russia, China, etc are gonna target the lego leak hastags. 43 minutes ago, CloneCommando99 said: The R2 KT set. Are we even sure the fig list is even correct at this point.
