They’re running out of commanders that could be recognised by casuals.

I feel confident that 2026 gets us Bly and a new Neyo, and I wouldn't be surprised if the turbo tank had a new Gree.

I'd argue most commanders besides Rex and Cody won't be recognized by casuals, but after the three above, you're out of characters that were in the movies at all, or prominent CW ones like Rex. The only ones left are characters with minor appearances in the animated series or ancillary media.

First of all you are absolutely correct that more casual fans only know Rex and maybe Cody.

As for clone fans... never. The amount of people I've seen claiming how much we "need" characters like Doom and Thorn, characters who were in just a few scenes in a single show, it's crazy. Some people won't be happy until we have every skin from battlefront two (Lambent Seeker when?)

Doom would be a great May 4th GWP if they still did figure ones- a very obscure character that some fans would still be like "oh, cool" for. I'd be kind of annoyed with them making a retail set to include him and his legion again.

I know they're the most famous legion, but I totally agree. They aren't 3.5 battle packs in a 4 year time period level famous.

Anyway, firmly disagree. They’re rated as well as they are because they’re the main clone army featured throughout TCW. 212th look better, I’d love a BP or two, but besides Boil or Waxer I couldn’t care less about the named 212th regs as characters.

501st aren’t worth multiple BPs, but they’re still more popular than the rest, and I understand why TLG made another 501st pack. They oversaturated the shelves with the 332nd, I feel, and I believe the market’s response reflected that. (I’m kinda salty I missed 332nd packs at $11.50 at a local Walmart earlier today; don’t care enough to pay $16 for one of them, but at $12 each I’d be willing to build a small platoon.)

Either that or a remake of the Shadow ARF—maybe a Shadow Rex. Something nobody but collectors or CW diehards would want.

(Technically 3 if we’re counting the BARC speeder as 0.5 since it’s not a BP per se and a pretty bad bang-for-your-buck in that regard—but who’s counting?)

I don’t believe clone fatigue would apply to either, since they both aren’t the same old standard clone design. It’s why the ARC-170 pilots—apart from the lack of dual-molded legs—have received otherwise universal praise, even from MandR.

The reason we haven’t seen either, I believe, is because each would require a new helmet mold with, in their eyes, not much potential reuse.

 

Okay, hear me out: 2026 sees Geonosisian Flame Troopers BP. Includes side build that suspiciously resembles a couple charred bugs. ;)

Is the 327th BP, UT-AT and Turbo Tank actually happening or is it still speculation like is it actually definite ? most of these reliable leakers turn out to be true so idk, anyway I have a feeling the Turbo Tank if true would include Wolffe

If there is really a Turbo Tank coming with such a small amount of pieces, what could that mean? That Lego wants to establish a second form of microscale models after limiting itself with the label Starship Collection? Since Lego seems to be increasingly targeting the 18+ age group, it would make sense to focus on vehicles as well as spaceships.

Yeah, exactly. It'd be a great opportunity for legends characters or visions/visionaries characters (funny that both continuities had non-canon anthology series with similar names)

I was counting it as .5 but the 332nd pack as a full one. Painting your commander's face on your helmet doesn't change the fact that you're part of the 501st any more than widening the stripes on your helmet and throwing some extra gear on does.

I just don't see how they could make a decent Turbo Tank for 50$, maybe if it was made in 2001 but we're in 2025 now, more price, less parts, even a chibi sized turbo tank could not be made for 50$, it's probably a mistake in price or price is swapped with another set

Couldn't be starship collection since it's rumored to have good minifigures

I would guess it'll be a third of the size of the last system one, or even less. I almost wonder if it's really a 41st battle pack that comes with a "turbo tank" in the way that the 332nd pack comes with a "swamp speeder" (Although to be fair the latter isn't as terribly far off from the canon size)

Maybe if it just has the wheels and most of the parts are just plates for the sides on an angle, that wouldn't need much pieces then, only the base of it

but for 50$, idk, look at Battle On Peridia, same price and barely anything there

We know that Lego’s leaning into doing gimmicky things, even when marketed for kids (75392). And Lego City is getting a Go Kart series in January (including Luigi the Pizza man)

I don’t think it’s too much of a stretch to suggest that Lego may try and make a LSW Go-Kart/ Microfighter large pack in the near future. And there’s the fact that the MTV-7 looks like a small Turbo Tank (plus imagine the cool characters they could include in a set like that)

Was a sucker and bought the interceptor. I think for that model of Jedi fighter it’s probably the best build imo. It’s not repetitive like the previous versions of like Obi Wans and Anakins. Few new techniques and new cockpit, and it gets points for me for the fact that the figures can sit in the cockpit and not have to lie down. Price is heavy for what it is but I’m a sucker for a Jedi fighter

And there lies the problem with Lego’s price increases

I wonder whether the UT-AT will have a similar troop capacity to the AT TE.

Now that the Clone vs Droid Battlepack exists, I feel that Lego’s going to start putting as many different legions as possible into larger sets as they can just be reinforced by the very versatile P2 shinies.
