What's especially funny to me is that lego won't stop making clone battle packs, and this stops the next one from having a BARC, which means there's pretty much nothing left besides another AT-RT.

But yeah, the 501st has been so heavily overrepresented in lego over the past few years. Someone can run the numbers, but I wouldn't be surprised if we had more 501st troopers since 2020 than we have had stormtroopers.

My guess is most realistically, a single 501st clone and nothing else. 2 501st troopers would be nice.

I don't think we'll see an anniversary minifigure in sets based on new content. That's more a gut feeling than any hard data, but I just don't see them doing it. I don't think they'll have anniversary packaging either.

2020: 3x 501st Troopers, 1x Jet Trooper, 1x 332nd = 5x 501st Troopers vs 2x Storm Troopers (who came in the cantina) Also note that there was also 3x Snow Troopers but i'd say snow troopers are different enough from storm troopers.
2021: 4x Storm Troopers, no 501st
2022: Neither were in 2022
2023: 4x 501st, 4x 332nd, 1x Captain Rex, vs 1x Storm Trooper

Pure 501st: 8x
332nd (which are just a subset of 501st and are 90% the same): 5x

Storm Troopers: 7x

So 13x 501st/332nd Troopers (including vaugn and rex) vs 7x stormtroopers (+1 if you want to include the artillery trooper)

I’d be disappointed if it is a 501st trooper\troopers. I would prefer shock troopers maybe we can all compromise and have one 501st trooper and 1 shock trooper . 
 

or to be even more delusional and cover all bases one plain trooper, one 501st and one shock trooper.

Where did he say that? I am honestly not surprised, since getting Shock Troopers in two $30 sets in one HY felt unrealistic; my guess is that we get at least one 501st Trooper, and maybe an anniversary character? @Renown?

I wouldn’t be asking for more 501st troopers if the current battlepack had 1 regular assault trooper instead of the extra heavy or if they hadn’t retired the og 501st set I honestly didn’t Finnish my goals with the 501st troopers I would really like to eventually have the full Legion XD but for now a full batallion of regular 501st troopers plus 1 1/2 ish companies to mix them with the specialist 501st troopers will do fine

I’d usually consider it a brigade (usually a synonym to legion) however in TCW season 2 it’s mentioned that the 501st has 3 FULL brigades within its ranks which means it’s likely is a corps with an extra brigade, that would also explain that a full division (which is around the same size as a brigade) was sent to besiege mandalore (also keep in mind seasons 1-6 are both canon in Disney canon and legends) and that would mean the term legion is term for elite large units and not a synonym of brigade

Advent Calendar: 1 for $40

It seems pretty dang clear why a 212th battle pack is so requested, especially when the majority of battle packs we get are clone packs anyway.

It's a legion. Anything saying otherwise is just the clone wars writers not really knowing what words mean or being stupid like when they had Rex say AT-AT. They throw words like squad, platoon, company etc around like they don't have meanings. In both canon and legends a legion and brigade are the same thing. The star wars writers are awful for this kind of thing. Like how a Captain is the officer for a company (165 troops) and captain Rex is the highest ranking clone in the 501st Legion (approx. 10 thousand troops) When it comes to writing for military stuff Star Wars tends to lean on "it sounds cool and most people won't care"

If you want to take the ranking systems seriously i would strongly advise you ignore off hand comments made by lazy writers in episodes of childrens TV shows and focus on what the media that is written for the purposes of actually informing readers about how these things canonically work in-universe, say on the topic.

For example it's technically canon that Domino squad has 5 members and no sergeant despite that making absolutely no sense in-universe. The writers don't care, they had 5 characters and a cool unit name.

Ok fair enough, here in Canada atleast I can find the foil pack magazines in walmarts and some other stores like shoppers drug mart.

That's interesting, I'd been given the impression that the magazine didn't exist at all in America (as in the 2 whole continents that make up America not just the USA).

I believe eaglemoss were asked about it once and said that the market just wasn't there for selling kids magazines with little gifts, which in the UK were a large part of my childhood ( it was mostly DWA(Doctor Who kids magazine), the Beano, Toxic and the Pokémon magazine but if the Lego magazines had existed back then then they'd have taken priority) and from what I've heard and seen kids magazines are also big in most of mainland Europe... So I'd assumed that Canada would be treated the same as the US because of the similar culture 

Though calling them foil packs is a bit outdated now, they've been paper for a while. 

Ninjago did have a leak a while back, showing what was coming in the coming issues but with starwars we never seem to know more than 1 or 2 ahead ( because some countries get the magazine before others). I'd quite like it if they did the regular 187th clone before that set retires.

Agreed, especially since the set's pretty overpriced in the UK and I've never seen it below the RRP except for preowned ones on eBay (mainly due to the only non-LEGO retailer selling it being Tesco who aren't great for discounts anyway, regardless of the fact that they never even have the set in stock).

Count me in as someone also satisfied with Lego’s clone trooper output. The thing with clones is that there’s always going to be another legion that will have fans clamouring for it - though I can understand the demand for characters like Wolffe, Bly etc. who aren’t ‘1 second of screen time’ levels of obscure.

From a TCW point of view, more than anything I’d just love to see Anakin and Obi-Wan from the earlier seasons with arm-printing and new hairpieces. Surely if Mace got such updates…

Same here. I'm surprised we haven't gotten a Clone Wars Obi-Wan in so long. I know we got Anakin in 2018 but that one can definitely be improved with more accurate colors for the costume. It would also be nice to revisit the different Jedi Council members again as well as any notable characters still stuck with the 2008 animated face printing such as Aurra Sing, Pre Vizsla and Savage Oppress.

I guess that makes sense, tho Rex was only in charge of the 501st due to being Anakin’s clone liaison, he was officially in charge of torrent company

When do you guys think we'll see any images of the Clones Vs Droids battle pack? Normally by now we'd have some kind of blurry image, no? Or maybe they realize how popular a set it'll be and are keeping it under tight wraps. Personally I'm just really curious to see any image of the supposed new Super Battle droid.

Leaks are impossible to predict but you'll probably see official pics 2-3 weeks before it's set to release if this summer was anything to go by

It's been pretty consistent that the january star wars sets get high-quality image leaks/reveals around thanksgiving (fourth Thursday of november for those not in the US), so I'd guess around then.

That said, seeing as our january wave consists of one (1) system set and a junior set, it might be easier to keep under wraps.

I really miss the days of big January waves. And of smaller sets, for that matter. The cheapest non-gimmick star wars sets are $30 now... what I wouldn't give for some little $10 star wars sets like the Guardians HQ set from marvel.

This, 100%. I can't help but imagine how awesome sets like that would be for kids and adult fans alike. $10 for a small build (but usable at minifig scale) and 2 figures would be perfect.

The old $10 sets from almost every theme were the best. The $20 duel sets, while still a bit more expensive than I would like, were almost a perfect set line to fill that gap. Too bad they got canned after only 3 sets, all 3 were pretty good
