April 1, 2024Apr 1 I think overall the Scimitar is a great set. From the front and the side, the fuselage is definitely too tall and the stacked playes don't look so great but from every other angle, especially top-down it looks excellent. I'm glad the Bloodfin is included, even if it's easily the worst version of the speeder we've gotten. Ditto for the probe droids(why are they barrels!?), still the play faerures look fun, the shaping on the back is decent and the figures look great. I can understand why people dislike the pupil-less eyes on Maul but I get why they changed it since pupils on a minifig are atypical. This way, he fits the more uniform style. I do agree though that he needed his hood and cape. Saw looks fantastic and I personally don't mind the green armor. LEGO doesn't produce the shade of greenish blue his armor has in Rogue One/Fallen Order but it at least kinda matches his appearance in Rebels. It's nice to see there are no stickers, only brick-built details and I think overall for the price this is a good value. The BARC speeder looks good but I still dislike that they went back to the old handlebars instead of the nicer, more accurate built up ones the past several BARCs have had. The side car looks nice and I'll be glad to have the pram but Kelleran Beq is the best part of this set. Hopefully we'll get offical images of the Droideka soon. Edited April 1, 2024Apr 1 by ToaDraco
April 1, 2024Apr 1 Was already sold on the Sith Infiltrator but now that Saw is not Granny Smith green, it’s a must buy.
April 1, 2024Apr 1 Really weird decision to not include the hood or cape for Maul, especially because the figure selection is for a scene where he very notably has his hood and robe on. Not a huge deal, but a weird choice.

April 1, 2024Apr 1 Grogu’s Escape is frankly overpriced in my opinion. But an excellent build, phenomenal craftsmanship from the designers, oh and the speeder is alright I guess. Sith Infiltrator looks incredible. It’s just not for me. Saving up for the Death-Star playset I just want more info on that soon. Edited April 1, 2024Apr 1 by CloneCommando99
April 1, 2024Apr 1 The last Sith Infiltrator was actually the set that got me back into LEGO. I always felt it was a bit off in terms of some details which this one now has. Overall though, I think I still prefer the one I have. Better scale, I think. That Saw figure though... Love it. I'm going to be spending a lot of time scouring Bricklink and eBay in the near future. Hopefully the prices aren't *too* horrendous.

It wouldn't have been out of the question. Have they though? The Uncharted “leak” was approved by them, but masterminded by Jay’s Brick Blog to see how far a fake rumour can spread. That’s not the same as a sting operation to catch a mole, where they combine real and fake information. Giving up real information is not something they’d risk, so the entire list would’ve had to be fake And of course nobody argued that, because people want the other sets to be real
April 1, 2024Apr 1 At the moment, Saw is my favorite anniversary figure. On 4/1/2024 at 8:35 AM, SEmrys said: I'm going to be spending a lot of time scouring Bricklink and eBay in the near future. Also, last week of April is probably reasonable for UCS Tie pics right?

I could live with $20/£15, although I miss the pre-pandemic days when things regularly dipped lower than that. Half the time when I looked now figs I'm after are usually £25-35+

Such a cool minifig, and it's amazing how well they've captured Forest Whitakers likeness! Also, love that new Ani minifig! My favourite version yet, and the 2018 HP hairpiece in dark tan is a great choice

(Also, I feel like they 100% would "risk" giving up real info if by "risk" it just meant sending it out to whatever employees were suspected of being moles. It's a better way to catch them then just no longer giving the employees the info or trying to fire/discipline them without real proof) I don't think sending out false info to catch leakers is outside the realm of possibility for them. Again, I don't think it happened here, but I think it's 100% something they could do. On 3/31/2024 at 10:01 AM, ToaDraco said: I really hope Jedi Bob's Starfighter is a wild color, like teal. So do I. Either a unique color that Lego fans like or there's some lore around (teal, sand red, maybe that new tomato soup color), or if we have to play it a little safer, something referential to old lego star wars color schemes, like black and bright blue. Or- and hear me out- pearl gold starfighter.
April 1, 2024Apr 1 I’m still not sure about the Infiltrator to be honest. But the minifigures do look good. Looks like they’ve used Harry’s hairpiece for Anakin right?
April 1, 2024Apr 1 Maybe it’s just me but outside Darth Malek the anniversary figures IMO are very bad picks. YES people have been wanting Fives,Saw,Cal but why not just put them into ACTUAL sets? People want new Rogue One sets yet lego is just scared for whatever reason of doing new Rogue One sets. Fives could’ve been included in a different TCW set. Cal should’ve been included in a Mantis, and Young Leia in a new Kenobi set. Like IMO Malek,Starkiller,Mara Jade,Dutchess Satine,Dexter Jettester,Holiday Special Boba would’ve been better picks because those are characters that realistically will never be released otherwise.
April 1, 2024Apr 1 I'm torn. The 2011 version of the Sith Infiltrator has a superior figure selection with Padme and Captain Panaka. Heck even the 2015 version has Watto and R2, plus Maul has his cape in both those versions. The small figure selection plus the lack of details on Maul make this new version seem so weak. Plus the images of it make it look blockier than the 2015 version. I feel the special edition figure is the only thing drawing me into this set. Saw looks amazing but he's the only thing bringing me into this set. Also i need to see the backside of these figures to make my mind up. If they all have that ugly 25 anniversary printing on their back I'm completely skipping them. I will say, Malak and Fives look incredible and I kind of want to scoop them up. I can easily skip young Leia, pink droid and unsure of Cal at the moment. But Fives and Malak look so good. But then I look at the sets they come in.... I have almost never liked over scaled sets, with few exceptions. It's the same reason the large over sized Bat vehicles in DC do nothing for me, I prefer my builds at figure scale. So a buildable R2 does nothing for me. Similarly, I plan on buying the recently retired Tantive IV some day, so no need for a diorama of the boarding scene. Both builds feel unnecessary to add to my collection. Not really worth buying those sets for just the figures. just putting out there that the buildable Hedwig and upcoming buildable Disney Simba (based off of its initial leak) are some of the only over scaled display builds I have enjoyed enough to buy/consider buying. So yeah. And finally as for the pod race display set, I'm so annoyed by it. 2011's Anakin and Sebulbas pods remain the best builds we have ever received for that scene. I'm kind of annoyed Lego isn't looking to reproduce that anytime soon. Even more annoying is we haven't gotten any of the other racers since 1999/2000!! Like, Anakin and Sebulba weren't even the only ones in that race, and it seems the company may never produce a figure scaled pod for Gasgano and that's a shame because I love filling my Star Wars universe with supporting characters. I mean the original pod race set had three pods and a small viewing area representing the stands for the civilians (Padme and Child Luke)!! So when i see this micro build display I kind of just role my eyes because I've seen them do better............. 23 years ago. Edited April 1, 2024Apr 1 by cosmic
April 1, 2024Apr 1 Ok, haven't seen many people talking about the D2C for fall. Pretty much all but confirmed it's Jabba's Sail Barge. Especially if that Desert Skiff rumor is true, it really lends itself to the Jabba rumor. Are we thinking that it's possibly a Master Builder Series set? My guess is 3900ish pieces is probably gonna land at $500 USD I guess it also depends on how many minifigs they wanna throw in this.
April 1, 2024Apr 1 ALSO, I know it's April 1st, but there is a pretty legit looking Commander Cody Brickhead in the usual spot and if I recall correctly, that was a set that was rumored for this year...
April 1, 2024Apr 1 Barc speeder is much bigger than I expected, very disappointed with it. Still buying the set, but it seems like they can't make a prequel era speeder anymore for the life of them from the Bad Batch shuttle, 501st set, $30 clone droid "battle pack" all the way to this. Fans have been complaining about it and leaving negative feedback on the sets with them, but LEGO just doesn't care. How do you make it perfectly in a battle pack 13 years ago and now start doing them like this? Don't mind the price, but including an extra clone or a naboo security/guard would go a long way. Don't mind helmet holes. Pram is really cute. Haven't changed my mind about the Sith Infiltrator. Figure selection is horrible, build is horrible, clunky, blocky and something is seriously wrong with the hood. I do not want Saw Guerrera and don't want to go through the hassle of selling it. Maul's speeder looks like a brown duck with design being so off. Even if I am buying this set with someone that wants Saw and they offer me $30 for it, I still don't want this ugly set for $40. Most likely just bricklinking Fives and maybe getting the imperial officer set as I am a sucker for officers. Voting with my wallet against all the anniversary sets like I did for the 20th anniversary. They should just celebrate the phantom menace anniversary instead of random nonsense and it's a hill I will die on. Cal Kestis should have been in the BD-1 droid set if you already don't want to give fans a vehicle from the game. You could have thrown in Fives and Saw anywhere.
April 1, 2024Apr 1 So Max Baut is claiming the Sail Barge has 10 figures including Slave Leia,Max Rebo, and Salacious B Crumb.

April 1, 2024Apr 1 Both 75383 & 75378 have been listed on the LEGO website and I'm pleased to see that the Infiltrator is only £59.99. I'm not sure how they managed to fit 640 parts into it considering that it's only 27cm (11") long but presumably there's lots of small ones somewhere! Saw Gerrera looks great though, and it's amazing that he's finally going to be available in a set! The others look decent as well, although the facial expression for Anakin is an odd choice - perhaps I'll get used to it eventually. I'm looking forward to ordering it on May 1st - I don't often pay RRP for sets, but this one is well worth it
