Do I spy Mortis in the background (top right)? Funny to see LEGO acknowledge it.

There's a lot of interesting stuff here. Concord Dawn, the art of the clone arm holding the droid head from one of the gunship/dropships, the AT-TEs on the asteroid, etc. Whoever made this at Lego put a lot of thought into it.

Not sure if anyone else noticed, but on the bottom left corner on the cw 20th Anniversary poster if you zoom in there’s very discreet Lego tracks in the dirt.

Does anyone recognize what set they’re from or what potential set they’d belong to?

Indeed! The only thing that doesn‘t really fit in is the Azure Angel from the 2003 Clone Wars show. Then again, this is technicallly the only appropriate set here since CW turned 20, not TCW

Only thing we can expect are the official pictures for the January sets. Which if memory serves they were very late with last year.

Has Lego been getting more late with their announcements recently? I feel like the time between reveal and release has gotten smaller in the last few years, or maybe everything else (movies, mostly) being revealed 3+ years before they release has skewed my view of it.

This definitely seems to be the case. Then they end up acting like Surprised Pikachu because leaked set images inevitably outpace late formal reveals. Not Star Wars but still related - I remember when everyone and their mother knew about the Infinity Saga sets releasing in 2021 but Lego in their infinite wisdom revealed it less than a month before the formal release date.

That Lego Clone Wars poster is so nicely thought out, lots of easter eggs that shows they really paid attention to the details. For me personally, I’m reaching a point where I think I’m content with the TCW sets we’ve received as of late, although I’ll opine my desire for an early season Anakin / Obi-Wan / P1 Rex and perhaps a larger separatist vehicle or droid before I’ve drank my full with the subtheme. Saying that, Clone Wars sets can be an evergreen thing provided its not the same cadence of endless battle packs and just clone vehicles.

I think it's just celebrating the clone wars era as a whole, with the multimedia project starting in 2003. (If you want to get really pedantic and say the first battle was shown in 2002, I'll raise you that technically the 20th anniversary should have been celebrated in 2BBY, not 2023)

Good catch. I can't make out what they'd belong to, though.

Also, welcome to eurobricks! I like the name and PFP.

Those are the footsteps of the Clone Walker Battle Pack (8014)https://brickset.com/sets/8014-1/Clone-Walker-Battle-Pack
You have an outer "toe", a block and then a rounded back of the foot. There is also a TCW animated phase 1 clone following the trail. Likely Lego's way of reminding us of it without actually having to put some weird non-canon walker on the poster.

Or you could say clone wars started with the 2002 video game Star Wars The Clone Wars and still say we're a year off lol

Nah, we aren't celebrating the name.

The amount of effort put into this poster astonishes me. They need to get this guy quality-checking the fig designs.

well I suppose the idea of the clone wars goes back enough further, before it was said on screen.

If we assume the clone wars were part of that first draft in '75, then 1995 would be the 20 year anniversary.

The point is, the anniversary is pretty arbitrary, and just lego's way of celebrating the clone wars era as a whole. Don't look a gift horse in the mouth and all that.

Counterpoint, the first clone wars branded lego set was 2008 so it's the 15th anniversary (cue older AFOLs going into shock about how long ago 2008 was)

Joke's on you, I was pretty young back then- the republic Y-wing and hoth rebel pack are some of the first sets I remember owning.

I believe this is the first thanksgiving week since I started following the leaks back in 2018 that we haven't had high quality images of the January 2024 wave by. Though I guess when the "wave" is 2 sets, one of them being 4+ and the other being a battle pack, it's a little easier to conceal.

Maybe I missed something, but I thought there was a big Skeleton Crew set planned for a January release? Also, I usually love polybags so that one counts as a full set to me

It’s been delayed to June since the show was also hit by a delay  Polybags don’t really count as normal sets since you can’t get them on s@h, at least not on day 1

Yeah props to Lego honestly for keeping a lid on any images of the complete set (although we have seen figs and partial build)

The Lego SW Magazin that will release on 29 December will come with the Mandalorian Fleet Commander. The figure will be called Mandalorian Pilot in the magazine (at least in the preview of the upcomming issue).

So when i was speculating some months ago that the Fleet Commander is one of the figures that Lego is likely to put into a magazine i was right

Honestly now that you mentioned Mandalorians I feel the same way I do with clones. I get they're extremely popular and probably sell well, but like man the Mandalorians up until like 2018 were rare-ish (aside from Boba), they actually felt special to get one. Nowadays they're everywhere imo

Is he also supposed to be coming in the battle pack in June?

I wonder what figures will be in next years magazines? I suspect we’ll get one of the clones from one of this years battle packs. Would love to see a purple clone in one of them though

I agree with you! It will also be the 4th Mandalorian we get with the magazines in like 2 years or so. There was the green one from the battlepack, the Mandalorian Loyalist, Bo Katan and now the Fleet Commander.

I'm pretty sure we'll get a clone with the magazines next year! Although i feel some oversaturation (same as with Manods), they are perfect for magazines, like Mandalorians or Stormtoopers.

Totally agree. They're very easy to obtain now. I'd still like some red ones- one last set with generic red mandos could be nice, just to get some non-evil looking red ones- but that's personal preference. Objectively, we've got more than enough mandos for some time.

Yup. I'm starting to wonder if the guy who plays the fleet commander was supposed to have a much larger role, or if he's just George Lucas's second cousin or something, because the amount of merch prevalence he's getting is nuts.

I thought the purple clone was in one already, I could be totally wrong though, they don't have the magazines where I live. I just have a vague memory of seeing that online.

I think last year we had 212th clone, scout trooper and stormtrooper as the only generic troopers if memory serves me right rest was named characters.

Tbh I think the final battle scene in Mando S3 had more originally and was cut. The commander figure did get a few lines and more air time than most
