(Monkey's paw I guess, watch us end up with another snowtrooper battle pack) Though I do wonder if they're making the gamble that the same design will be in the Thrawn movies and trying to hold off until then. 1 hour ago, CloneCommando99 said: My thoughts exactly. Me to Lego after the Andor Season 1 finale: I had literally the same reaction as you when I saw it. Like why didn’t we get that?! When so many non-canon vehicles are made for battlepacks (for example: minature Av7, Riot control walkers and that weird air speeder (from the 2018 clone and jedi BP)) why is it that when a canon army-buildable vehicle that is battlepack sized shows up in arguably the better pieces of content Lego doesn’t seize the opportunity. It just baffles me. Also on the subject of Andor and Rogue One… where is the Tie Reaper Lego?!! It’s been almost 10 years since its first appearance. I need it for the DT squad! When was the last imperial troop dropship? It must have been the 2021 Imperial Shuttle. We need something new to land our imperial forces into drop-zones. (Please be a Tie Reaper.) Idea: Lego makes an imperial remnant battlepack. Figs: 2 Night Troopers (1 with grey face plate) and 2 normal Stormtroopers. That way everyone’s happy. Andor did the new stuff in such a great way too. For a show that felt as far removed from "let's merchandise this" as possible, they introduced a new faction (corporate security) and their gunship, the incredible Haulcraft, a "new" imperial trooper with the army trooper, and a new patrol speeder that's perfect battlepack size. And none of it felt out of place- the corpos scale the power of the empire (with the army troopers and their speeder providing the next level on that scale), and it makes complete sense for someone like Luthen to have the coolest ship in the known galaxy. Quote
Flawless Cowboy Posted May 11, 2024 Posted May 11, 2024 I’m guessing Andor, which is seen as a more mature show, was seen as less appealing to kids and thus received little attention in play sets. I agree that making non-canon side builds when so many canon builds go ignored is irritating. It’s Lego Star Wars, leverage the license we’re already overpaying for. Save the wacky stuff for other themes. Quote
ARC2149Nova Posted May 11, 2024 Posted May 11, 2024 All this speculation over the Gungan Battle Pack for 2025 All jokes aside, there can never be enough of any trooper type, and since Lego has trimmed back to 2 (or less) BPs a year, we're gonna have droughts in between releases. Last proper Stormie pack was 2019. Since then, the design has changed yet again...But honestly, this year's Tantive IV hallway is a decent dual battle pack, if you ignore the price of course. I for one wish Lego realizes that Phase I and II Clones can exist on shelves simultaneously, but there's always Bricklink for the better designs anyway. Just patiently waiting for official picks of Rebuild the Galaxy, so I can be either really excited...or incredibly disappointed! Quote

This is my guess as well actually- I think it's fine- three $100+ buildable guys in one year is kind of weird, but we know it's happening, and I don't think an ewok is all that similar to C-3PO. Agent Kallus Posted May 13, 2024 Posted May 13, 2024 Ewoks are creatures but by buildable creature I sort of imagined something more animallike than human like, ewok have their own civilization and are bipedal. Maybe it really is a Zillo and that's why it's been kept under tighter wraps as it might've been a bad batch set. But it being an Ewok is more likely than TLG acknowledging the Bad Batch again so maybe not. Quote

But normal Ewoks are considered as minifigures are they not so if it’s an Ewok the rumour it would be a buildable figure like Chewbacca, whereas creature would be something different like a rancor or tuntun. unless there is some news from somewhere it could literally be any creature from any film/show/game. The smart money would be on it relating to TPM considering the anniversary or jabbas palace to coincide with the sail barge Quote

PsychoBuilder Posted May 13, 2024 Posted May 13, 2024 ...but we also don't have particularly reliable confirmation that it's a buildable creature...yet. Quote
Kaijumeister Posted May 13, 2024 Posted May 13, 2024 (edited) Yeah with three sets being directly based on Rebuild the Galaxy, this unknown set being a buildable *thing* just seems like a waste of a slot, especially if a buildable Threepio is already a part of the same wave to begin with. I guess what kind of sucks is the set’s price point and piece count too, which could’ve gone towards something more interesting. I’m curious to see what conclusions Lego drew from the sales figures and overall response to Chewbacca last year. As far as ideas go I respect them trying new stuff out. Saying that, as much of a cool novelty as non-system sets are, I feel like we’re getting too many of them at this point but that’s just me. Also hoping that August set pictures are imminent. It’s frustrating when sets from the same wave are revealed in such a piecemeal fashion. Edited May 13, 2024 by Kaijumeister Quote

At this point, given how much stuff has been completely wrong from leakers this year, I'm don't even know who to really trust except Renown. Also, that leak still sounds like someone making BS up to me. I don't know what circumstance someone would be fed solely the info that it has more than 2 eyes and be unable to describe ANYTHING else about the set - color, general shape, size, limbs, etc. I feel like that's someone making things up and then if it's correct, suddenly they're a "leaker." I mean the leaks this year have been a bit hit and miss. Was it this year someone said one of the anniversary figures was someone who would drive a Honda civic or something stupid like that. I can see someone teasing saying “oh it’s got more than two eyes” as an attention thing and not an attempt to actually inform on what’s coming. well probably find out in June once that waves out what it is but if it a buildable creature just feels like a waste rather the budget and resources that went in to it went on 2-3 smaller/affordable sets Quote

ARC2149Nova Posted May 14, 2024 Posted May 14, 2024 I suppose some actually excited about this buildable creature? I feel like it's a waste of a slot, and young Leia isn't the most desirable figure, either. Quote

Flawless Cowboy Posted May 14, 2024 Posted May 14, 2024 Watching Lord of the Rings receive another masterpiece of a location set has me yearning for an MBS even more. I really hope we get one next year, the Cantina will be retired. Perhaps all the Endor references in the last advent calendar were subtle hints at an Ewok Village/Bunker remake. Quote

I think you're correct. I remember some of hints being "they're not a main character" and "their name has an O", and a lot of people were thrown off of Leia because of that first hint. I'm still willing for it to be a one-off goof from that leaker, though. Quote

He claimed he was referring to young leia, but to be honest, I think young leia just happened to fit all the clues (that actually made any sense), and the leaker was just spouting hints to keep people on the stream. (This also fits with one of the hints being "not a main character" and then having to do the mental gymnastics of "well, YOUNG Leia isn't a main character, just adult Leia") The fact that jedi bob has just about all the hints fits that for me. The odds that SOMEONE would fit the clues were pretty high. Quote
