Have they ever done a one-colour version of a dual-moulded piece before?

I'm sure it's not the only example either but it's the first I found.

Also McGonagall and Dumbledore's dual moulded hat-hair combo pieces - both done in purely pearl gold for the anniversary figures.

It would be very funny if they revealed some Accolyte sets near it's release ( they'd probably have to be January sets at the very least now but we have gotten very early looks a couple times before with some mando sets like the razor crest) because then we'd have seen January sets before the August ones.

I don’t think we’ll get Acolyte sets this year but I’m really hopeful there’s a couple in the January or March waves - I could see a larger shuttle set with 4-5 of the main characters and a small £20-30 Vector starfighter set as well.

I would say those are reasonably likely. But the character roster appears to be quite a large one. So I wouldn’t be surprised if they just did a Vector with Master Sol, the Sith Lord, Mae and another Jedi.

Of course I hope that the lack of Acolyte sets this year won’t impact on the amount of movie sets next year. I need a goddam stormtrooper BP.

I feel like Sol and Mae seem to be the most important characters so they’re most likely to get figures. If there’s another Jedi I’m hopeful they make Jecki Lon or Kelnacca - it would be great to get more alien Jedi figures

Sol and Mae definitely, followed by the dark side character with that sick slasher smile helmet! I assume it‘s the Sith apprentice rather than the master, but we‘ll see. Jecki and Kelnacca are other good candidates, followed by Torbin and Yord. Vernestra Rwoh has potential too, since she‘s appaered in a lot of previous THR material and she has a pretty distinctive lightsaber design (IYKYK)!

Still curious why we don‘t get a set immediately. If Skeleton Crew can, so can this show :shrug_oh_well: Or maybe that‘s a good thing, so they have to pay less attention to potential spoilers

I’m curious as to why it didn’t get a set in the wave that literally released 3 days before the premiere of the show!!!

IIRC when release dates were shuffled, at one point Skeleton crew was mean to be out before the Accolyte which was probably when TLG were planning the sets, and obviously it's easier to delay a set (Skeleton crew) than bring it forward (Accolyte).

As a big fan of the books Vern would be great though I'd have get a spare to give some hair!!

The release dates weren‘t swapped though, at least from what we know. Publicly, The Acolyte never had any release date other than the one we know (i.e., next week), but of course it’s possible TLG was originally told the series would arrive later in the year, hence no sets yet :shrug_oh_well:

I certainly do hope we get Acolyte sets at some point. To be honest, I'm actually kind of glad that they likely wouldn't be until next year. As nice as it is to have sets release in time for a new movie or show, I am so sick of having watered-down sets that end up being poor representations of the show, like expensive sets for ships that had less than 10 seconds of screentime for the entirety of a show or are based on out-dated concept art...

That said, regardless of whether or not one appears in the show, a Jedi Vector seems inevitable given how prominent they are across the High Republic era. I love that ship design and would absolutely want an official LEGO version.

I also agree with what some have said; the more alien Jedi, the better! Of the characters we know will be in the show, Kelnacca is definitely the one I'd want a figure of the most, followed by Vernestra given her presence across the High Republic and her special pink lightsaber. I'd be very curious to see how LEGO would handle it's special form, assuming they would at all.

With Acolyte coming out soon this is a good time to remind you all of our spoiler policy on this part of the forum. Please don't talk about specifics of an episode until 1 week after it airs. That means you can start talking about the show on June 12th.Some of you won't be able to control yourselves, I understand. If that's the case use spoilers for anything show related.

Could be cause it looks like a complete failure and Lego doesn't want to risk making  a set for a show that won't be popular, Obi Wan,Ahsoka,BOBF and Mando were the right choices.

I don't think that Skeleton Crew set is coming out either, there's been nothing about the show since and I'd say the set is not releasing by the looks of it

While I wouldn't phrase it exactly like that, I think you're generally correct in that first sentence, though perhaps moreso because of the discounts some of those sets were seeing- Obi-Wan especially. Lego's already very cautious about sets for shows, and having even a couple show-based sets underpreform could cause them to wait on Acolyte sets until they can judge reception to the show- and maybe more importantly, age reception. I don't think it's a secret that Andor, despite being one of the best projects to grace the star wars label, wasn't exactly the #1 show with the 6-12 demo, and so it didn't get much followup after it's first set. While it's assumably going to feature less epic monologues (I mean that unironically- by far the best parts of Andor) and more lightsaber fights, Acolyte's been marketed as a pretty mature show, so especially after Andor, I could see lego dragging their feet until it releases and they can see just how mature it is.

I totally think you're wrong on skeleton crew though. I think the set was assumably delayed because the show was delayed. I have full confidence we'll see it at some point.

Yes, this staggered reveal and release schedule is very annoying :ugh:

I remember the pain of it being close to January and we didn't get the set images of Marvel for ages lol, that was annoying

To be fair, that wasn't due to it releasing too close to the release of the project.

I know, that's why I also referred to issues with sets being based on early concept art.

The staggered reveals are definitely annoying but it's close enough now that I'm sure we'll see the rest very soon. I was honestly surprised that they didn't reveal the Rebuild the Galaxy sets after the trailer dropped to build(pun intended) more hype.

I HATE the staggered release schedule. I'd even be OK with the staggered reveals if we went back to 2-3 waves a year. This January-March-May-June-August-September thing is really aggravating for me because all the 1HY waves feel tiny. I loved the grand January waves we used to get, and that feeling's not there when it's broken into a couple waves of just a few sets each.

Sorry, I thought you saying that sets released some time after the show wouldn't suffer from that.

Which that said even then the justifier is just an anomaly. I think the only possible explanations are either lego was led to believe it'd be prominent in season 2/3, or they were really, REALLY banking on Cad's BL prices translating into set sales.

I'd guess they'll reveal them alongside a second trailer.

No it doesn't? Besides when has that ever stopped TLG before ( and I'm not talking star wars, but like prince of of persia, lone ranger, speed racer, light-year the angry birds movie etc).

I really hope it does do well (A) because I like the high republic and (B) because it doing poorly might make Disney afraid to set stories further away ( in time) from the OT.

I concur. I’d have compressed these smaller waves into something like January-May-August just so they’re spaced out fairly evenly and aren’t too small.

I’m not sure if I’m being overly negative, but the August wave seems quite disappointing in terms of large non-D2C sets in the sub-1000 piece range. Every year we do get at least some well-designed large ships like the Ghost, Coruscant Guard Gunship (which I still think was mostly good), Scythe, etc. which have fantastic minifigure lineups and excellent builds. This year we’re getting the Dark Falcon, ISD, X-Wing vs. TIE, and yet another buildable <thing> which seem quite lacklustre in comparison, although at least the Dark Falcon should still look quite unique.

Can’t believe it’s been a month since the ISD reveal, guess Lego really are going to just sit on the official set pictures until early to mid-July.

I do think that @Lego Nostalgia does drive a relatively valid argument. After the failure of shows like Book of Boba Fett, Andor (unfortunately) and most notably Indy 5. Lucasfilm can’t be trusted to produce smash hits on a regular basis anymore. The acolyte is the first show that doesn’t revolve around a legacy character that general audiences would know. Hence it comes with the risk of not that many people watching it in the first place, therefore making the general consumer less inclined to buy sets based off the Acolyte.

So I understand Lego’s decision to not make sets off Acolyte, for now at least. Especially after the fan back-lash of shows revolving around more popular characters such as Kenobi and TBOBF. Which translated into poor sales.

What I’m more concerned about with the Acolyte is that it has the potential to irreversibly damage the established canon. Especially seeing that much of the cast don’t seem to be well versed in knowledge of the universe they’re expanding on. (“Anakin blew up the Death Star,” “There is no good or evil in Star Wars.”) I have no doubt that Disney would try to retcon the Chosen One prophecy so that it would fit a more diverse individual (Cough-Rey-Cough) when the opportunity presents itself. And if @Something_Awesome’s statements are anything to go by, I frankly don’t have much hope.

But I digress. Back to Lego discussion.

Totally agree.
They should bring back the two BP’s in a January wave format! They should just merge the March and January waves, move the Starship collection to May, the May play-sets to January and the June Play-sets to May. I just don’t see the point of releasing two separate waves a month apart from each other. The August wave, advent calendar and October UCS can just stay as they are.

Did the Angry Birds movie really do that badly? I liked it. It can’t have done too badly as it got a sequel. Lightyear I really liked so it was unfortunate that it flopped.

I really hope that, if there is one, it drops soon. I need to know what other characters are going to have inverted affiliations. Grand Admiral Ackbar? Darth Kenobi? Grand Moff Leia?

It annoys me that the people who are making it don't know anything about Star Wars, they want to erase canon and they are trying to remake Star Wars in they're view, plus it is clearly only being made to tick boxes and it's not made for SW fans, Lucasfilm hates it's fans (The OG ones) ''Anakin blew up the Death Star'' REALLY, I miss the days when Directors and Writers actually gave us good stories and cared about the lore, oh well.

With all the backlash it's getting which is 100% deserved, I can see why Lego wouldn't want to make a set from it, there's a reason we're not getting anymore  Sequel Trilogy sets, they simply don't sell and there's no demand for it, look at Hasbro, all these new Disney SW characters are pegwarmers still on shelves after years.

Ho boy.

Book of Boba Fett actually did pretty well in terms of number of streams, and I don't think it was bad, perhaps mediocre. Andor did well critically even if it had less streams. ( And in terms of my opinion it started alright but got to be pretty stellar as it went on)

Also the only BoBF sets we got were a Mandalorian post credit scene set without any of the characters introduced into the live action show in BoBF itself, a mirocfighter and what was basically an early Mando S3 set.

Indy 5 isn't star wars ( can't speak to my opinion on it's quality as I've not bothered to watch it yet, I will eventually.)

The idea of Accolyte supposing breaking canon is a bit strange, the cast aren't writing the story anyway so that doesn't matter ( I mean what did did Alec Guinness know before being cast?) I mean it's nice when the cast are fans but it's not a requisite really is it?

I don't really place that much weight or importance on the prophecy but IIRC George was gonna retcon it to be Leia in his sequels ( which did sound much cooler, they could do an animated show based on alternative story lines and ideas, a bit like marvels What if but taken more seriously with logical obvious divergence points, no multiversal cross-over finales and we'll have 9 episodes season with 45 minute episodes with 3 each dedicated to each idea, we could get duel if the fates in such a series as well as George Lucas's criminal Maul sequels and more).

I think Lego should drive their focus away from Disney + SW shows (Mando,Obi Wan and Ahsoka sets are amazing) and focus on the usual OT,PT,CW and maybe make some Legends sets if they can

We really need more things other than an X-Wing,TIE Fighter, Millennium Falcon and Luke's Landspeeder for OT, there's so many things they could do, An Endor Bunker,A Hoth Base,A Minifigure scale Executor Star Destroyer and more, I love Clones as much as the next guy but I'm kind of feeling tired of them since we've gotten so many now, If they don't do Commander Bly and his Legion,Commander Wolffe and some updated Kashyyyk Troopers then I don't want anymore.
