Looks like they learned from the last coupla years, where the August sets were revealed thanks to the 2HY catalogue multiple times. It's a disgrace and they dragged Cal down with it. I'll never forgive the empire. I remember a few years ago they supposedly hired a leak agent, and I'll say the agent(s) have definitely upped their game. Aside from the survey leak, they have been able to keep a lot of stuff a lot closer to the chest this year. I wouldn't be surprised if the catalogues either had unique watermarks and some sort of larger penalty for leaking things, or if they just stopped including them. I think most retailers are pretty confident lego sets will sell regardless of what they actually are- most of the sets that do particularly poorly are lego exclusives. *cough* hulkbuster *cough* black panther bust 6 hours ago, Agent Kallus said: It's still more likely scheduling rather than anything else. The Accolyte has had far more fan interest from it's announcement compared to things like Skeleton crew. Skeleton crew that we know was supposed to come out first and that they have made ( but not yet released) a set for. As for maturity, it's rated at the same level as RotS and below Andor. I'm hopeful that they'll make up for the lack of sets now in January or march and at some point next year. Skeleton crew also features four children as the main characters- I feel like lego's more inclined to take the risk and make a set for that one. I wasn't so much talking about the rating (I believe all star wars content has been rated TV14/PG13 or below in the US, which is what lego seems to use to draw the line on what they will and won't make sets for) as the tone and how interested kids would be in it, I guess. Andor was TV-14 but pretty mature, and I think the set didn't do as well because not that many kids watched it. The acolyte does have lightsabers, so that's something. 6 hours ago, ARC2149Nova said: Anakin is a miracle baby, immaculate conception a la Jesus (he's literally Space Jesus). Shmi concieved him via The Force (along with some meddling by either Plagueis or Palps). So, canonically, he can't be conceived any other way. Anakin has one mom, no dad. The Force conceived him, so he came to be. Anything else would effectively jettison waste all over the franchise. Sorta Ninja'd Yeah I don't put much stock in that theory, especially because the guy who posted here, again, was the guy who claimed live-action kanan would be a thing with some impact, but if it does turn out to be true, I think that'd cause me to break off from my current "watch almost all content" to more of how I am with marvel now, where I watch almost none of the shows and 30-50% of the movies. I think some lucasfilm story board guy tried to say that they didn't mean it, but in darth vader (vol 2 I think) #25, aka The Best Star Wars Comic Issue Of All Time, it is VERY heavily implied that plaguis and palpatine's machinations led to anakin's creation. I'd argue palpatine implies it in ROTS, but you could argue it's not clear. Here, if you look at the panel with pregnant Shmi in that issue, it's pretty clear that's what they're going for. Quote

It'd be like if you told a guy he should have a kid- you may have given him the idea, but that's not your kid. If your clone's daughter someday kisses that kid's grandson, it's weird for many reasons, but they're not relatives. Though in legends, it'd be more like if you and your friend were trying to genetically create an Evil Baby (TM) in a lab, and a literal god got so angry about your Evil Baby (TM) experiments that he made Space Jesus. 1 hour ago, CloneCommando99 said: Anywho. To be fair, it’s pretty clear in the comic that the intention is that the idea that Palpatine created him is one of Vader’s anxieties, not a thing that actually happened in story. Not saying that doesn’t mean it isn’t the case in canon, but the comic certainly isn’t a good argument one way or the other. Quote

Llewop Posted June 12, 2024 Posted June 12, 2024 I’ve just built the Mando S3 bp and the moff Gideon bunker sets and you know I like them price wise for modern times it ain’t bad and I like the thought of combining sets. I hope the tantive boarding that maybe they add a tantive escape with a Leia and a few troopers for example. I think it could open up a few options and keeps things fresh combing location and bps builds in to bigger displays. as for the August wave I would have thought that we would have had reveals after the June wave came out. I can’t see any other big reveals coming for Lego before August so hopefully it won’t be long. pure speculation but maybe there is a spoiler ish acolyte set in the August wave and they might be waiting for the episodes to come out before they release more images of the wave. It wouldn’t be the first time pretty sure mandos N1 came out of nowhere a couple of years ago. Quote

Maybe Coughing Baby (Young Leia) is in the C3 P0 and the creature set is actually from Acolyte as some others have previously said. Either that or Lego’s waiting for the Skeleton Crew trailer to drop. As it looks like that set is coming in August. About the N-1, we knew a BOBF set was coming. We just didn’t know it was the N-1 until maybe 24 hours before they revealed it. Edited June 12, 2024 by CloneCommando99 Quote

Lordhelmet Posted June 12, 2024 Posted June 12, 2024 Hoping to get the leaks soon (or official reveals at this point). What is the most buildable characters/creatures we have gotten in a single year? This year we have R2/ Droideka/ C-3PO (rumored)/ Unknown leia set. That seems like a lot of buildable characters/creatures in one year. Just curious if there is precedent for that many from other years vs. what we are expecting this year. Quote

Turtle shows up in LOTR or space every once in awhile, but his greatest success pre-DC was the indiana Jones thread, because that theme is more dead than DC. They’re betting too much on the buildable character sets at the moment. 1 or 2 a year is fine. But 4 is just baffling. Especially when there’s play-sets that are in desperate need of being made/ remade. I don’t think there are all that many kids who’d prefer a buildable character over a cool gunship, tank or base that’s compatible to the rest of their sets and figures. But hey… Lego’s the one that does the market research not me. (But let’s keep in mind how that market research turned out with Vidiyo.) Edited June 13, 2024 by CloneCommando99 Quote
