The sets look decent but it's a shame the Peridea set has so many stickers for that price. Basically a stickered based with stickered totems, and then it's $55? Still somehow better value than the Sarlacc set :laugh_hard:

I'd love to see people defend Lego about the Boba Fett, reuse, they made the ROTJ Boba in 2017 why can't they do it now, also no cloth

I also hope we get a Night Trooper Battle Pack with 2 Night Troopers,Zombie Death Trooper and Enoch, I know it's a battle pack but might be the only way we get Enoch this early in 2025 January so I'll take it.

How someone approved a capeless ESB Boba for a ROTJ set is beyond me. And on top of that to charge 80 euros for that? I'm just baffled.

Really glad I managed to pick up the 2017 skiff. But I do need Lando and Nien Numb so that's a problem...

I like the Peridea set, makes for a nice display, but the thought of properly aligning 20 stickers is killing me.

Lego knows they can cheap out and put little effort into their products and people will still buy them, I've noticed it's only lately we've started to see them cheaping out while putting prices up, I know it's a kids toy but still, if the quality was better years ago then why should it stop now, same thing with Marvel sets, reuse after reuse of characters and no printing for the legs or arms unless it's sometimes, while crappy themes like Dreamzzz gets everything.

Honestly if it was just a ROTJ Boba with no cape I'll accept it and they should have given us Enoch.

Ahsoka has no cloak either, it doesn't even look like the white outfit

The figures in the Dark Falcon probably used all the budget for new prints

Might get 73385. New Thrawn looks good even though I already have 75170 (might sell it now though with this coming out) and while I'm disappointed they didn't add Enoch the Stormtrooper with gold highlights is pretty cool.

75396 doesn't add anything new really if you have any of the previous versions apart from a lot more bricks around the Sarlacc pit which doesn't do anything for me although the Han squinting minfig face is kind of fun.

This is- and you can go back and look at my post yesterday- almost EXACTLY what I was asking for.

Peridea looks incredible. Maybe a bit pricey for $55, but the build doesn't look like a toy, it looks like a display piece. It's beautiful, not to mention the figures. Ahsoka the white is also excellent, and I'll take a great night trooper over a half-baked Enoch any day of the week (imperial dropship in 2025, though?). And Morgan has the face paint print! Immediate day 1 buy. Biggest criticism is the name- stop it, lego. Go back to having interesting or at least short and succient names. None of this search optimization garbage that looks like it was AI generated. (But of course, none of that actually impacts set quality.)

Skiff and Pit are also incredible. I think the people complaining about the price are missing the size of the pit- that thing is almost as wide as a baseplate, I'm seeing 28 by what looks to be at least 20 or so. For the price I would have liked to see a new Boba and another skiff guard, but it's not a dealbreaker for me.

Just a heads up you are not going to see anywhere near the money Thrawn's been going for now that official images are out. If you are gonna sell, do it ASAP- that price is only going to drop.

I also think this is a really huge improvement on the Luke figure- the bit of leg printing really helps the overall look for me.

I’m really hoping Jedi Bob’s Starfighter reveal isn’t being saved for another day, this piecemeal approach is getting genuinely frustrating.

Jedi Bob's Starfighter is the set I've been most excited about, aside for the Battle of Peridea so it's driving me insane that it still hasn't been revealed/leaked. It's starting to feel personal.

NO ENOCH WTF, damn you Lego

If you look closely, there are some gold marks on the Night Trooper helmet.

Night Trooper sucks, omg.

Whoever priced the Skiff is on spice, 80 kriffing dollars!? :damn:

And it's the crappy round design, not the sloped design from 2012 and earlier.

I'm incredibly disappointed that we're not actually getting Enoch but now it makes so much sense why one of the leakers was saying he we weren't getting a new mold for his helmet. The Night Trooper looks okay if not a bit bland. The modern Stormtrooper helmet is just so limiting. It badly needs more printing on it and the old helmet mold was able to be printed all over. I do hope we get a Night Trooper bp next year though, and maybe that could at least include one with a gray helmet and maybe a ln Undeath Trooper(zombie Death Trooper)as well.

I am at least confident we'll eventually get Enoch as he's Thrawn's right-hand man and will most definitely appear in more upcoming projects.

As for the Peridea set itself, it's beautiful. I immediately thought it was a moc it looks so nice! The rest of the figures also look fantastic. I only have a few minor nitpicks. Ashoka's outfit should have had more white on it, Morgan could have used some leg printing, and while I'm happy to get a recolor of the Darksaber blade(especially knowing we'll get 2 in the box like every set that came with the Darksaber), I can't help but feel they should have instead recolored a Ninjago sword piece or something that could better pull off the look of a regular sword imbued with green flames. I think a remold of the new Ninjago sword part# 4924pb01 would have been ideal and appeared in multiple sets this year. Having the trans red be replaced by trans green and perhaps the gunmetal gray with pearl silver would have looked amazing. That said, it is a dual-molded piece and costs more to make and we also don't know at what point this set was being designed in relation to that sword piece being developed by the Ninjago team, nor do we have any idea if the Star Wars design team even considered consulting with the Ninjago team to see if they had a piece that would work. Oh well, it's not like it's weapon of major significance like the Darksaber or something that really deserves a new mold, and of course it took YEARS for the Star Wars team to even give us that.

As for the Sarlaac and skiff set, it looks good but not incredibe, and MOST DEFINITELY not worth $80!! I'm definitely going to just bricklink Nien Numb at a later point or wait until this set goes on a deep discount.

The sets are okay, the night trooper aren’t that good of designs in universe imo and it reflects that in lego,I  like all the other figs. Not giving boba his cape is weird.I also think Ahsoka needed a white cape.

I like the figs that aren't Boba Fett in the Skiff, but that mound of sand trying to bulk up the set to a targeted price point is Bananas!! I'll give them that there are a nice amount of figs with leg printing, but the actual Sarlaac build is pretty unchanged from the last one theres just more desert around it.

Perdia is fine I'd spend that much money amassing those figs anyway so I'll buy it.

I love many of the figs this year but really the only sets where the builds scratch my lego itch are the starship collection, C3-PO, and the rebuild the galaxy sets (cuz they fun). This year doesn't have a Ghost or Scythe for me where I'm looking forward to the actual ship i get to build. Dark Falcon is the closest, but only the interior will be anything innovative as i own the last 4 playscale falcons.

Anyone who has built a Speed Champions set knows what fascinating builds are possible with less than 300 pieces, and I know lego would charge more than 25$ for the Star Wars equivalent (basically what the Starship collection is), but why are all sets under 60$ basically glorified battle packs this year. Here's hoping for Jedi Bob's fighter.

Coming here to say something similar, primarily about the two sets shown tonight. The peredia set is just... mediocre? I was hoping they would have the small gold ship from the show, or something of more substance, but instead we have the Obi Wan set, but worse in terms of stickers on a baseplate with some upright tiles. At least the Obi Wan one had more play for kids with the split in the middle and the lava buckets..

The redeeming factor is the figs, which is why most will buy anyway, but even then, only Thrawn and maybe the trooper interest me personally.

The skiff is better than I expected. I actually like the sand buildup as a display to accompany the upcoming Sail Barge, and the skiff looks good, but this feels like a great $60 set, not $80.

The more I look at the Sarlaac & skiff set, the more I like it. I do appreciate a larger Sarlaac pit for the first time and I really like the shaping around the mouth. The skiff is actually very nicely designed with lots of excellent shaping and smaller details. The biggest issues are still the price and a coupe of the figures. Looking at the set more, I can better appreciate the size and complexity and mentally comparing it to other Star Wars sets in the $60-$80 price range in recent years, I'd give this $70 max. $80 is just too much. As for the figures, Chewie didn't need to be here, it should have been a skiff guard instead and Boba is just a lazy reuse of the mech figure. I would have been a bit more forgiving if they had least included his shoulder cape but they couldn't even do that.

I might be in the minority here but I don’t like these sets. Lego removing figures from past sets again. The sarlaac pit build is good but only having Boba as a “villain” in this set and no weequay that’s disappointing. I wasn’t planning on getting this set but for the price I thought there would be more. I’ve got the old one so I’ll stick with what I’ve got.

As for the dual I don’t know what I had in mind with this set but I certainly had hoped for more. Again no Enoch is disappointing and the night trooper looks crap tbh. I do like Morgan’s sword is a green dark sabre mold. Again I think I might just pick up Thrawn and Ezra off eBay and save some more money.

These bulkier skiffs just aren't as accurate/good as the thinner, more sloped ones. 2012 is the most accurate skiff we've gotten in terms of both size and shape. While the details of this new one (particularly the fins) are nice, I can't stand that nose.

The Sarlacc is good, but I'd rather have it paywalled behind a Sail Barge and have a cheaper skiff. Nien looks good, finally Rebel Friend can be made, Lego's stopped caring about figure accuracy (see literally any Hoth figure post-2016) so Boba doesn't surprise me. Luke and Lando are the best (regular) figures in the set.

Still not worth $80.

Night Trooper really needs arm printing and more helmet printing to look good. It's too clean imo. The actual set looks nice, but I don't care enough about the show to put this on my wishlist. Maybe I'll bricklink Thrawn but that's it.

A diorama would have been perfect, a detailed sarlacc with the mouth and sand around it and a desert skiff included.

You are not in the minority, if anything you're in the majority, I feel like this wave is kind of a let down since the sets only worth getting to me are the Star Destroyer,Jedi Bob's Star Fighter and Battle of Peridia, I will get the falcon though for the figures.

If only they printed the arms of the Night Trooper, then it would be good

Well, looks like we need to take some of the rumours concerning minifig details with a grain of salt, even from the trusted sources  The Nighttrooper looks good, but I’m really bummed Enoch is MIA now. At least this means he might get a new helmet piece further down the line, as he should! :shrug_oh_well:

Both sets look excellent though!

My fears are now gone that he would have an Iron Man helmet

This take feels slightly abstracted to absurdity. The Obi-Wan location in-universe is a grey nothing, and as a LEGO set is still a flat grey nothing. The Peridia set in-universe has some design to it and in-LEGO is worthy of display.

That doesn't mean it's a great set or value, but at least there's something to it... not to mention 4-5 decent figures of cool characters, unlike the Obi-Wan set.

The Night Trooper doesn't look very... Night Trooper-y. Maybe better in person but to me it looks like the helmet needs more gold.

I like the Sarlacc's play feature with the flying tentacles though, that's fun!

We’re not out of the woods just yet. There’s still a chance that Lego decides to cheap out.

With every set that gets revealed, the more and more certain I am that the ISD is the absolute banger of this summer wave. I don’t like the Grey Slab of Peridia. The figures are great though. The Night-trooper makes me happy as it means I don’t have to see people rant about a bad Enoch. (Also the Night-Trooper being in a set as cheap as this reduces the chances of them getting a Battlepack. Imperial Remnant (with stormtroopers) or Army Trooper BP next year please!!

The Sarlaac Pit looks good. But just not for me. The lack of Boba’s cape and Weequay is a travesty. But I’m not too bothered about the Boba reuse (is it really a difference that kids would have noticed?)

Let’s have a look on what leakers have got wrong this year

  1. Star Destroyer being a Death Star Play-set
  2. Evil Chewie in Dark Falcon
  3. Enoch
  4. Luke having a new hairpiece in Skiff
  5. Weequay in Skiff
  6. Star Destroyer/ Death Star having 12 figures

Anything else?

Help us Jedi Bob’s Starfighter, you’re our only hope.

The sets are both good for what they are, but overpriced. I’m not too disappointed by the lack of Enoch, as he’ll presumably be coming some time (the movie, at the latest), and he deserves to be done properly. It’s nice that Ahsoka gets arm-printing again, and I’m wondering what head they’ll use for the Night Trooper. The build is interesting. I’m not sure what I was expecting, but it fits the scene.

The skiff looks a little short, and while the Sarlacc’s build is nice, they definitely don’t seem like $80 worth of stuff. With the upcoming Sail Barge, now would have been the perfect time for a proper RotJ Boba. Maybe with Jabba’s Palace, then. The other minifigures all look good, but my friend and I noticed something about Han. His shirt fold is on the opposite side of what it used to be. Rewatching the scenes, the older one was accurate to the battle, but this one matches the scene of Han and Luke talking on the way to the Sarlacc. I’ll give them this as a variant, as Han’s new face fits the one he gives Luke at “Convenient.”

Build able creature being the Droid fun set.

Though I recall the Luke report being that he has his Final Duel diorama hair, not another new hairpiece, so that wasn't wrong.
