Would work, if both helmets would have the same colour, but as they don´t, I don´t belive this is going to happen as there would just be to many bricks that would only be included in one build. Quote
Meaf Posted July 14, 2024 Posted July 14, 2024 Do we actually know if the non-playsets (helmets, dioramas, midiscale, etc.) "take up" playset slots in any sense? I don't remember if anyone at Lego has commented on it, but maybe I just missed that. I guess someone could also do a comparison between past years but I'm too lazy to do that right now, and even if someone did I suppose there are other potential behind-the-scenes factors we might not know about, such as if the budget got increased or decreased. I feel like the amount of playsets we've been getting has decreased a bit compared to in the past, especially in the last year. I'm not sure if that's actually accurate though so if anyone has any insights I'd be interested to hear them. Quote

I mean, I'm sure it's possible, but given that they share somewhat similar colors, I'd be surprised. 21 hours ago, BrickBob Studpants said: Of course I can't prove they'd never do such a thing, but I still think it's highly implausible. Wouldn't they have to get approval from Disney as well to do some Tyrion shenanigans like that with their license? I don't think so- I don't know why disney would be opposed to or even need to sign off on that. 6 minutes ago, Meaf said: Do we actually know if the non-playsets (helmets, dioramas, midiscale, etc.) "take up" playset slots in any sense? It's probably not a hard rule, but there are likely limits on how many sets Lego wants available at a time for any given theme (i.e. for shelf space/inventory/marketing purposes). So by necessity, if LSW plans for additional display sets, they probably have to scale back the number of playsets to compensate (or vice versa). Quote

We all know which type of set is Thrawn’s Tie Defender project in this Scenario and which is Krennic’s Stardust. Empire wouldn’t have been wiped out if they’d invested the Death Star funds into the Tie Defender. 7th Fleet Officers > Literally any other officers in imperial navy. They are just built different. Eli Vanto, Gillad Pellaeon and Karyn Faro minifigs when?!! Also. Can Lego please stop with half the Mandalorian stuff. I get it’s popular but it shouldn’t be getting a large portion of the 1HY sets in a year when it’s not even relevant. Give the animated TV shows, Andor and Ahsoka some more sets. Things they didn’t even touch on. Edited July 14, 2024 by CloneCommando99 Quote
Llewop Posted July 14, 2024 Posted July 14, 2024 So are these helmets rumoured for January? Or Is this more likely March/May? the way the leaks have been going I wouldn’t be surprised if it wasn’t Bo or Jangos helmet. It must be one or the other they are too similar to be released at the same time. Quote
hikouki Posted July 15, 2024 Posted July 15, 2024 Just finished binge-watching all 3 seasons of the Bad Batch. Bummed that they killed Tech in season 2, and ending was somewhat poignant in season 3. Wonder if Lego might still produce sets with this sub theme? Quote

Not sure why your first instinct is to assume they‘re stupid. They‘ve done two sets based on the show, so if the shuttle sold well, there‘s no way they‘d reach that conclusion. If both ended up being shelfwarmers though, I wouldn‘t blame them for not releasing more TBB sets Besides, I‘m pretty sure they conduct thorough analyses to determine exactly why certain sets performed better or worse than others. At least that‘s what I’d expect a huge company to do Quote

So, to some extent, they are at least a little stupid. The sets' poor sales weren't because of lack of interest, but because of flaws in the sets themselves. Whether LEGO realizes this (or cares) is up to personal opinion, but let's not pretend that they aren't capable or willing to cherrypick data to suit their own ends. That said, at least we got the main cast, so I suppose some credit where its due. 3 hours ago, hikouki said: Just finished binge-watching all 3 seasons of the Bad Batch. LEGO tends to not cover the animated shows all that well, not since Rebels sets (allegedly) didn't sell well. We've gotten two TBB sets, though. Both had their issues, but were overall okay for what they were (except the shuttle, that thing sucks and I'll die on that hill ) At least you can collect the Bad Batch (and Imperial Crosshair) but that's about it. Oh, and Bane. Cad Bane. Quote
Kaijumeister Posted July 15, 2024 Posted July 15, 2024 With the new Imperial Supercommando helmet mould introduced this year, I can 100% see that being reused for Hunter at the very least. I’d be surprised if we don’t get another small TBB set next year. After marinating on this year’s summer wave for a while, it’s a fairly good lineup of sets but I still feel the first half of this year was far stronger than the second half. This is probably the first year where I only pick up a couple of sets from the summer lineup, but at least that leaves me some room to pick up the Milano and Great Deku Tree. I’m still wondering why the anniversary Leia figure includes Lola (with the droid even getting a specific shoutout on the Droid Builder box) but the Cal figure didn’t include BD-1. Part of me hopes it’s because a Jedi: Survivor set is planned for next year so Lego held off on pairing BD-1 with the Fallen Order variant of Cal, but I’m definitely deluding myself there. Quote

I'd personally say Bad Batch has a lower chance of sets than the Accolyte but a higher chance than Andor. ( I'd personally like sets for all 3). Quote

I would also like to see sets based on all three, but they’re sadly far from guaranteed So far, the first batch of sets based on new seasons were always released either shortly before their start or after their end. The earliest possible release for such sets would likely be May, meaning a full year after the finale of TBB, almost 10 months after The Acolyte’s season finale and …in time for Andor’s finale By that token, Andor would actually be more likely than the other two! Even though I personally think they’d have scheduled a set for January, if they had actually planned anything for S2. We shall see. I wouldn’t be surprised though if 2025 ends up being the first year since 2007 not to have any sets based on previously untouched content (2008-2013 had TCW, 2014 Rebels, and 2015-2024 new movies and shows on a yearly basis)* *assuming there was at least one set based on a new season of TCW every year between 2009 and 2013, which I believe was the case Edited July 15, 2024 by BrickBob Studpants Quote

I think the issue was it was significantly smaller than most people wanted it to be. It's a struggle to fit just the core 5 characters into it. It's the main hero ship of the show, it's a shuttle, etc, I think people were expecting more than a $100 set where a significant chunk of the set's bricks went to speeder bikes. Quote

Poor dorsal fin design (when we consistently have Lambdas that get it right), unnecessary side builds, poor color scheme (subjective I'll admit, but stick to either sand blue or lbg, the mash of colors looks ugly), too small, proportions not consistent with itself (cockpit is way too big). Those are the major flaws. Every thing else can be overlooked. 9 minutes ago, Mandalorianknight said: I think the issue was it was significantly smaller than most people wanted it to be. My biggest problem (and one people seemed to agree with) was the dorsal fin. In hindsight, it could be worse, but that initial criticism is hard to overlook. I think a bigger issue is the absolute palette-vomit that is the color scheme. Who thought that sand blue and dbg mashed together along the hull would be a good idea? Is that their idea of a wash? Lego Nostalgia Posted July 16, 2024 Posted July 16, 2024 I just had an idea, the Night Trooper could show up in a Magazine Paper Pack since the set is 55$ and we got a 212th Trooper from the AT-TE which was 140$ so it's highly possible. Quote
Agent Kallus Posted July 16, 2024 Posted July 16, 2024 Yeah it's highly likely but they can be quite random. Quote
