I feel like the DC Forum is more mentally stable than Lego's set reveal team, I can't understand who in their right mind would release pictures of the ISD and then some sets 2 months later and then 2 other sets we're waiting to be officially be revealed, but as you know, insanity can not be understood.

The DC forum is kinda going through a sane spell right now thanks to the news of a Superman Mech. But I doubt the sanity will last long.

As for protective equipment: not even a armour made from Zillo Beast hide could protect you from the insanity.

 

So, is the Star Wars Logo coming in January or not? If it is and hasn’t been allocated a set number that gives me hope for a battlepack in January.

I might be on my own here but i absolutely hate the idea of the logo as a set. If I wanted a Star Wars logo to display somewhere I’d buy a poster, maybe it is just me and I’m a bit more old school but I like system sets that are based on cool locations and vehicles and scenes from the films and have fun building them and let my kids play with them after.

It’d be hilarious in the way that people would be annoyed because they want pilots but then they’d be happy at the same time for getting Bly. 

id rather this come with some pilots and maybe random Jedi, or random protagonist. Save the 327th for a bp or maybe an AT-OT. In my head it’d be great if when the current AT-TE retires they’ll replace it with an AT-OT but these days they’ll probably release a buildable gonk droid

It used to be wild, you'll see a regular patient there (legoturtle) but we've actually started to become pretty sane with hearing about a superman mech.

No. We need 2-3 pilots, and the set is only $70 - We are not going to get 5-6 Minifigs in a $70 set! I am expecting to get two Clone pilots (one named), a Jedi, and an astromech; maybe a third pilot if LEGO is feeling generous, though putting one in the Advent calendar would be more likely (see the third Mando S3 Praetorian Guard). 
Bly and the 327th will probably come in a ground vehicle (AT-OT, perhaps?) and/or a battle pack, not a starfighter.

I agree with what you’re saying, but LEGO just doesn’t seem to care about any pilots other than TIE or Rebel Pilots.

Personally, I’d like to see Plo Koon and maybe even Wolffe in this ARC-170, but Bly would have appeal regardless of what kind of set he’s in. Clone Bros will complain that it’s not an AT-OT, but they’ll still buy 3 copies Day 1 for a 327th army–and LEGO knows that.

Ever since the 2020 AT-AT came with 2 Drivers, I'm always hopeful for properly crewed vehicles. While for the clones that's been a crapshoot, I definitely see this ARC-170 giving us either (A) Odd Ball and 2 randos, or (B) Jag and two randos. With the appropriate Astromech (R4-P44 please ) and appropriate Jedi (Obi-Wan or Plo Koon, maybe a new Kit Fisto)

I'm not expecting this to have any ground complement, and why would it? There are plenty of ground vehicles to get the remaining units.

Though if I had a preference, I'd actually prefer the 442nd, the actual forces on the ground during the Siege of Cato Neimoidia.

Save the 327th and 104th for ground vehicles & battle packs.

That is a $140 set, so Fox and two Shock Troopers make sense; we are not getting that in a $70 starfighter. Also, some gunships (though not the Coruscant Guard one) have been flown by generic Clones, so it is not 100% inaccurate (though I would have much preferred one shock and one pilot!).

That would be a good choice for a fourth figure (counting the inevitable astromech), but I think that a more likely way to get one is in a Plo Koon's JSF.

A very good argument can be made for the 104th getting a gunship, as long as all of the dark blue pieces can be swapped for dark red (and no dark blue detailing with stickers!).

We're a little better right now because we actually got news of a set based on a character besides batman, but it's pretty bad. The theme is dying and as a result the posts are super off topic and borderline nonsensical (I heavily contribute to this)

That rumor was for a headhunter IIRC, but what I am confident I remember correctly is that it wasn't a rumor so much as a BS "leak". It wasn't real.

Sure, stuff like Peridea exists, but this isn't a fig-focused set. Maybe 4 figs and an astromech, but even that's stretching it.

I am expecting no more than four figures (three Minifigs and an astromech); Ambush on Ferrix was $70 a few years ago, and that only included three Minifigs (despite the fact that a second Pre-Mor Security officer would have fit the scene and improved playability!). Astromechs and other droids do not seem to count as full Minifigs, so I can see three plus an astromech in the ARC-170.

That's the exact thing that'll put you in the Aslume, doing the same thing and expecting a different result or hoping something will become true even though it has no probability of happening.

It’s alright dude. An honest mistake. That being said I do think that you’d make a fine inmate of the Aslume. There is a Superman set coming. And you did say that you would pay the Aslume a visit if that was an eventuality.

At least we know it will have at least 3 figures and a astromech. Lego has never made a starfighter that hasn’t had enough figures to properly crew it. And I doubt that they’d be scummy enough to stop that trend.

Same, I'm not a big fan of non-system sets in general and this just feels like yet another wasted slot.

I hope it's Oddball's ship for 2 reasons: he's a named clone (with lines in RotS) who we've never got (we got Jag back in 2010, and he's pretty cheap so it'd be easy for anyone to get him on BL, even just his helmet to put on a modern pilot body) and also his copilot wears the same helmet as Jag so we'd basically get them both in the same set anyway.

+1. I love the helmets and midi-scale ships (even if I'm yet to pick up any of the latter yet), and I can see the appeal of the dioramas even if I don't particularly want any. But a brick-built logo set sounds incredibly boring to me.

I agree with the consensus, 3 minifigs and an astromech is by far the likeliest option for the ARC-170. It‘s what makes the most sense in-universe and both precursors followed that idea

The question is of course, which minifigs they’ve picked. Personally, I‘d be in favour of Oddball and two regular pilots as that‘s the most screen-accurate option

Has anyone found the lego sw magazine with Sabine outside of Spain? This mag is so weird spitting out different minifigs from one country to the next. There used to be a delay of a month or two for one particular issue to show up in one country or another but more recently it feels like a minifig showing up in one country is no guarantee it will resurface elsewhere.

Given that if they include 2 or 3 pilots they would likely all use the same elements I could see them also including another figure with the set so I still have hope for a jedi, my wish is Plo with a new head element which is ABS and sturdier.

The Vader one has just started showing up in the UK, with Sabine advertised in the back for next month
