People continuing to buy things on day 1 at full price will only tempt them to push us further to see how far up they can go without a significant decline in sales. Edit: Just want to clarify, if anybody wants to and is able to buy sets on day 1, go ahead by all means. I definitely do so as well (though less often recently due to the increasing prices), but doing that definitely won't help us in our efforts to incentivise LEGO to stop putting up prices. That is a wild statement in a world where a headless AT-ST exists I’m not surprised they didn’t bring back the old lekku piece for Bib. The piece used for the Mando S2 version (it’s not a TBOBF set!) isn’t accurate, but at least he’s getting new prints! Quote

Im willing to buy sets day 1 at full price. From what i have heard about UCS Sail Barge this does not seems to be a perfect set worth full price and it possibly wont be saved with the GWP. I dont want to fork 500eur for an inperfect set and then wait for someone to buy that expensive GWP (which is just a bunch of bricks u can build from own bricks) for 100eur -> ill simply wait for the Barge to get to 400eur directly - if it even will be worth 400. 6 hours ago, TotoMagnus said: Bib is a bummer for me. Nothing too critical that will stop my purchase, since the build has priority and the figures I won‘t see afterwards. But I will voice my opinion towards Lego. If the build has priority, dont you have a ton of brown bricks as spear parts ? I did that for the AT-AT. The set was too expensive for what it was and the minifig selection was bland - so im building an AT-AT from own bricks + purchased the special ones. This way i can build 2 AT-ATs for like 400eur and use them in future Hoth mocs. Quote

Discounts and promotions always come, let's stop overspending on every little thing and giving Lego more reasons to increase prices! If the set is really good, that you want to built it ASAP, then its understandable. Sometimes a good GWP will push you to buy it as those can then make a difference (Barad-dur nazgul?) Here the GWP will be a saber, not fitting with the actual set and probably something that could be build out of own bricks - so only hardcore collectors would want to have it as MISB with the printed tile. For lightsabers i have miniatures metal replicas or the actual thing with blade and sound - around 100eur is a starting point for a decent saber with sound, sensors and multiple color led. Quote
CallumPears Posted September 16, 2024 Posted September 16, 2024 Can't tell for sure with the quality of the image, but it looks like Kithaba has yellow eyes . Such a weird choice. Wooof looks absolutely perfect though. More like that please LEGO! Quote
BrickBob Studpants Posted September 16, 2024 Posted September 16, 2024 Wooof and Vizam leaked as well! Vizam reuses the „hat“ introduced for Pao and Wooof‘s is an entirely new piece! Kinda crazy it took us this long to get a green Nikto Quote

The bad thing to buy a set day 1 if its not perfect only enforces them to by super lame and lazy with the set design. Remember the yellow clonetrooper which was taken as a pilot by the design team ? Such an ignorance. So NO, if the set is not perfect and accurate to the smallest detail -> no day 1 purchase if the price is too high. Lego needs to learn to do better, after all their motto WAS (as its not anymore): "only the best is good enough". 11 minutes ago, BrickBob Studpants said: Wooof and Vizam leaked as well! Such an ignorance. Not sure how not buying the Gunship on day 1 would‘ve fixed anything. I doubt the designers would‘ve been like „Wait, it didn‘t sell out on day one?! Dang, we obviously should‘ve included a pilot rather than a commander!” By that point it’s too late anyway, so what good does not buying sets on day one do? 30 minutes ago, STARHAWK said: where are all the leaks ? Im checking only insta legoleaks and redit legoleak There’s a subreddit specifically dedicated to LSW leaks So the Sailbarge comes with 5 new moulded pieces, right? Leia’s hair, Jabba’s head and body, Salacious B. Crumb, and Wooof’s “hat”. Or 6, if you count Max Rebo’s resurrected headpiece. It’s been so long the old mould had surely been destroyed and had to be recreated. Quote

Basically I would have to get all the bricks, which would be more expensive. I keep all my sets on Display, not disassembled. I also love this so called „customers‘ journey“ on special occasions, like a UCS release: Being at a store, talking to people who share the same interest and so on. I even adore a good packaging, like with the UCS AT-AT. It brings me back to my childhood, you might say. Reasonable? Most likely not, but still: These feelings I won‘t get by buying just the bricks. I tried, with the Nebulon-B, since it was nearly impossible to get here. It felt…bland. Shallow. The building experience was there and it was good, but still. Something was missing… But when I buy a set, the build to me is more important than minifigs, to come back to the original question. Edited September 16, 2024 by TotoMagnus Quote

CallumPears Posted September 16, 2024 Posted September 16, 2024 (edited) Ok I think I love it. Can't wait to see some interior pictures too. Curious about the exact length- looks a little smaller than proper minifigure scale. C-3PO doesn't have his dual moulded leg Tiny tiny nitpick is that I would've preferred the box to say The Khetanna rather than Jabba's Sail Barge, but that doesn't actually matter lol. It's something I would want if it has a UCS-plaque though. Edited September 16, 2024 by CallumPears Quote

BacktoBricks Posted September 16, 2024 Posted September 16, 2024 (edited) Do you think they intentionally used dual molded legs for Leia to make the costume less 'risque' and her bottom half seem more covered? Because of all the minifigures who would have been fine with just print on the front of the legs this is one of them. On the other hand, I could be wrong, but it looks like the C-3PO included is not the 'UCS' dual molded leg version despite this being a UCS set and you just get the printed leg version. Got to buy another set to get the premium C-3PO it would seem despite the cost of the set. Really disappointed with the Leia minifigure as she was the minifigure I was really looking forward to owning. Edited September 16, 2024 by BacktoBricks Quote
STARHAWK Posted September 16, 2024 Posted September 16, 2024 No impressed so far, ill will try to make some more analysis of UCS sets before we get complete and detailed pictures. Quote
CF Mitch Posted September 16, 2024 Posted September 16, 2024 Who the heck is this 'Woof' person that's supposed to come with the UCS? I can't find the figure so I have nothing to recognize it by, and Wookieepedia doesn't know the name... Based on the box picture, the barge looks great, and HUGE! According to the latest info, it's 77cm long. Regards, Mitch Quote

Im glad i have all the previous versions, as the last one made her breasts smaller and now even this stupid shorts. It makes me really angry as there are many figures in SW line which needs the doublemold legs and they did not used them. Last example is Lando in the skiff - overpriced set yet they were unable to make correct Boba and give Lando printed doublemolded legs (Tan with DK brown or brown boots) And correct, also the C-3PO is cheapened. 1 minute ago, CF Mitch said: Who the heck is this 'Woof' person that's supposed to come with the UCS? Meaf Posted September 16, 2024 Posted September 16, 2024 Wasn't planning to buy it anyway, but I feel like it looks kinda small for $500? I know Lego being overpriced now is the name of the game but even for the usual standards it seems really expensive. Price aside though it does look pretty hood. Quote
