LEGO Star Wars 2024 Set Discussion - READ FIRST POST!!!

There was a great post on how the person likes minifigs and playsets but would not buy the 18+ collectors sets. And about how casual Star Wars fans come into Lego, changing Lego Star Wars in the process.

I can't find it anymore, but that post pretty much summed it up much better than i could express it

Between all the rumored ships for next year, where are the location sets? U-wing is great news though. One of my two favorite fighters (The other one being the Y-Wing). The U-wing just looks so cool.

We are adults and for an educated discussion we need to take a look beyond the horizen. There's nothing wrong with comparing Lego and it's competitor brands. Sorry, but I don't get why some people react so allergic every time a other brand is mentioned and want to get the discussion shut down.

Considering the Cantina is retiring this year, we’re likely getting an MBS set next year.

Because it‘s simply off-topic in a SW thread?  There‘s a separate thread for knock-off discussion somewhere else on EB.

Kinda crazy we haven‘t seen Jango‘s version in a larger scale since 2002! The previous ones were all various mini-sized models (magazine polybag, advent calendar, and the 2003 mini-scale set).

Not what I expected for the May D2C set, but by now we should know to expect the unexpected

Lego is the only building block brand that is good and will forever be that way, no knockoffs will be in my household no matter what, Throw the knockoffs in the trash compactor

After the UCS Gunship, Venator and now Jango's Slave 1, prequel UCS sets are finally getting the attention and love they deserve! Bring on the MTT next

One of the posts I saw on the leaks reddit listed him as "Clone Wars Anakin"

it's tough because anakin had two looks in clone wars, early one and then the later one that's basically interchangeable with his ROTS look. They even had both versions in the Ahsoka flashback episode. Either one would be excellent to me, I just want him to have a new hairpiece to reflect the live action wavy hair instead of the cartoon polygon style.

Plo Koon's Starfighter is a chance for Wolffe and the wolfpack, right? It is one of the remaining clone troops to be made in the newer style.

Lower expectations I say, after all likely to only have two figures likes Yoda’s Jedi Starfighter. Especially if Ahsoka’s interceptor has 3!

Can’t wait to see how the Clone Bros will reason that they’ve been neglected this time. 3/4 of known 2025 Play-sets are TCW based. 3/6 18+ sets are Prequel based, including the largest of the entire 1HY.

That's exactly like how I feel.
Even though I am 18+ all these helmets, brickbuilt characters and midi scale sets do not interest me in the slightest as my nostalgia is for playsets, figures and vehicles. 

UCS Jango's Slave 1 sounds exciting, but I personally wish it was a $40-$160 set. I don't think I will get it as I mostly care about minifigures when I am make my purchasing decisions and LEGO can just release Jango in a micro fighter/mech a year later. This set reveal is also why I love leaks as anyone can just start setting aside $30 out of every monthly paycheck and have enough to get it by May. 

More and more excited for the Ahsoka's Jedi Interceptor though and Anakin's figure inside.

Plo Koon's starfighter sounds cool as well, but I can't seem to find the price info or who the other figure inside will be.

I don't think this info is out yet, but we can assume it will be $40 based on Bob's that just came out. 

I hope they knock it out of the park with this new head mould for him! The old one has not aged that well to me.

I was looking at some images of TCW Anakin between Season 6 and Season 7 and whilst the latter is basically just his RotS appearance, the former is only different because of the hair looking a little shorter, the robes being a slightly different colour, and him wearing a glove on his left hand. Really hoping this means ‘Clone Wars Anakin’ actually being his Season 1-2 armour. If that’s the case, I’d love to see Season 1-2 Obi-Wan in a summer set.

It’d be great to get a shorter montral piece for young Ahsoka but I’m doubtful that’ll happen. Very happy to hear a new cockpit piece is being used though, it only took 20 years!

Hyped for the U-Wing, but I’ll remain dubious on Plo’s JSF as none of the big name leakers have confirmed it thus far. Fingers crossed the summer wave list gets out soon!

Supposedly the U-wing will include Dedra Meero, and there should be another Andor set too. However, this is from Jedi Bricks who isn't exactly reliable- not sure if he got it from somewhere else or if it's pure speculation. If there's nobody else saying it then it's probably fake tbh.

If true, hopefully she doesn't have obviously feminine details so we can reuse the torso for other ISB officers.

Jango's Slave 1 is exactly what I was hoping for in one of my posts earlier in this thread; a Milano-esque minifig compatible spaceship with a complex and interesting build. I cannot wait to build it! The base of the OG UCS Slave 1 could use a lot of improvement that new parts would be perfect for

They probably will go with the sand blue again for Jango's bodysuit (IMO its more inaccurate for Jango than it is for ROTJ Boba), but they did retire the more accurate colors in the purge of 2004. One could make an argument that dark purple is the closest in production color though...

As for the name, for all I care Lego could print "Blue Boba Fett's Space Car" on the box, but the UCS data plate is much more important to me. "Slave 1" or if they really need it "Firespray-31 Patrol and Attack Craft" would both be fine, but "Jango Fett's Starship" would be very disappointing
