They aren't portrayed as cartoonishly evil caricatures, but rather regular people with jobs. The work they do is horrible, because they work for the Empire—but from their perspective they are just doing their duties. Obviously Dedra is much more aware of the grander scheme of things than Syril, but the point is the same—they want to be efficient, to work well and advance in ranks. That's why at some point you really root for both of them—Syril is actually doing a good thing, even if you try to look at it more objectively instead of from his perspective. He's trying to catch a murderer when no else seems to care about it, preferring to conveniently cover it up. Dedra, on the other hand, tries to rise through the Empire's ranks, but she's constantly brought down by her incompetent colleagues, constantly trying to ridicule her. When she succeeds through hard work, you're satisfied—until the next episodes fully hit you with the realisation of who she actually works for. I love this quote regarding Dedra: (And I also love Dedra.) Someone let the Actress know she has a potential stalker following her However I don't blame you, If Sydney Sweeney was Black Cat I'd be like you Quote

We haven't had any sequels stuff since the 4+ Poe X-Wing, IIRC (which was a choice that made a lot of sense - 2 main characters included, plus a well-known, at a cheap price point), so if they are indeed going to start including the sequels in the 18+ line, I feel like a better choice would've been in either the helmet or diorama line instead of the ships line. I think a Kylo Ren or Captain Phasma helmet would both do really well just because they're very cool designs, regardless of how one feels about the characters/movies. There's also a handful of scenes that would lend themselves well to dioramas - Rey vs. Palpatine, Kylo vs. Rey on the Death Star wreckage (that would probably be an insta-buy from me), Luke vs. Kylo on Crait, Rey and Kylo vs. the Praetorian Guards, and maybe even Yoda visiting Luke on Ach-To. I'm pretty convinced that in about 5-8 years, there will be a resurgence in popularity of the sequels, once the kids that grew up with those movies are a bit older, similar to how everyone started revisiting the prequels in 2015 and retroactively decided that they never hated them in the first place. My reason for bringing that up is that I'm sort of surprised that they're targeting adults with a sequel set and it's not one that's as instantly recognizable as some of the other options listed above. I wholeheartedly agree with this. Honestly, most of the interesting prequel set material had been done by 2012 (barring a few inexplicable gaps that still haven't been filled, like Shaak Ti without the hideous Clone Wars eyes), and the original trilogy has been working its way back through old concepts for twenty years at this point - if these trilogies can keep going back on themselves without fans complaining, why can't the sequels get a few decent sets here and there? Aesthetically they were stunning films (I'm not going to bother getting into the weeds of story because it'll go nowhere productive) and I feel like Lego haven't really taken advantage of this. Quote

Prequel appreciation started long before 2015, and most of the supplemental media (Clone Wars, Video games) weaved itself into the prequel era, whereas almost all post-sequel Disney content eschews the sequels and its characters, occasionally making tangential references. Not to mention that prequel toys were booming from 1999 and never stopped. I think it’s wise for Lego to lean into the adult market first for sequel sets, and a midi-scale ship is the cheapest adult set LSW can make. 10 minutes ago, Mandalorianknight said: I agree, I just don't think the shuttle is a good one to do midi-scale. Old Master Posted September 30, 2024 Posted September 30, 2024 On an entirely different note, I haven’t seen anyone really talking about the UCS Slave 1 minifigures. I have high hopes - especially for Boba Fett. This picture best exemplifies everything I’m hoping for: Dual molded legs for Boba are a must in a UCS set. Typically, dual molded legs on Star Wars figures have maintained exclusivity to UCS, though we are starting to see a shift away from this with 75385. Dark brown Han Solo hair piece will be perfect for Boba. Easy fix if it's not what they decide to go with but would be nice. A poncho would be a CRAZY plus (definitely not expecting this however lol). They’re finally going to get the darker skin tone right which is really exciting. You may notice the color of the sleeves match between the two characters - a detail that has never been reflected in previous Lego adaptions of these characters. I wonder if they’ll get that right. I hope to see a face print on Jango with the headgear in that photo reference and as a call back to the 2003 figure ie. the last time they made his ship! Quote
