LEGO Star Wars 2024 Set Discussion - READ FIRST POST!!!

I'm on the fence about having Enoch in the BP or not. On the one hand, I don't army-build so I don't really mind having named characters in BPs, but on the other, it'd be much better to have three regular Night Troopers plus a Double Death Trooper in that set. Ideally, we'd get a BP plus a dropship, but that's not particularly likely, is it. That said, if the choice is between getting Enoch next year or having to wait until 2026/7, I'd rather he be included in the BP

I can't bring myself to agree with this. Honestly I hate over-detailed designs anyway (I dislike 95% of leg printing and I can't think of a single situation where I'd want arm printing) but those pilot torsos are just ugly - they're too detailed to fit with the simplicity of early-era Lego, and not detailed enough to hold up to modern standards.

I actually agree with you on the animated-era Phase Is, though the heads are hideous - at least they're covered, and it's easy to swap out. I remember being so annoyed when they finally put out a Mace Windu figure in a set I could afford and it was the CW face!

An update is what he needed - the original is one of the worst face prints Lego have ever come up with. It's up there with Willie Scott and the 1997 Native American minifigures

Nahhhh it's one of my favourites. I actually really dislike the 2016 version. 

I use the grey version of the original on my Pellaeon figure and it's perfect.

I never pictured Pellaeon with a moustache. He's always struck me as a clean-shaven, Piett-type officer

Looking him up, all the pictures have him with a moustache, so maybe I just skipped over the part where he's described in Heir.

I always saw him as Thrawn's Watson, and imagined him with the accompanying mustache. IIRC he has one in Mandalorian as well.

Grey actually came first, made for J. Jonah Jameson and also used on German Soldier 4 in the Indiana Jones sets.

Yeah I don't remember whether he's described as having one in the HTTE trilogy but he is in some later books iirc. 

He actually doesn't have it in the comic adaptation of HTTE but the art in those comics was pretty inconsistent anyway (e.g. Rukh's design completely changes a couple of times).

Honestly I don't think I read many other books he's in. I feel like he briefly turns up at the end of Legacy of the Force, but the only book I read between Vision of the Future and Invincible was the last Dark Nest book, and he's certainly not in that!

In their defense he shows up for about 15 seconds as a hologram. IIRC he has like one line, which was either a polite version of "block you guys, when Thrawn gets back he'll take over" or something like "I, too, am speaking in this scene".

Though he has been canon since the end of Rebels- we don't see him, but Thrawn attempts to contact him shortly before Ezra whales him.

Anywho, back to the compulsory monthly mention of Renown’s mysterious 1984 quote. I’ve seen some people theorise that it could allude to the rumoured Endor set next year. This is because the film “Battle of Endor” came out in 1984. Not directly based off the film of course, but it could be an allusion to the name of the set.

Either way, we would really appreciate it if you could maybe please give us another clue for this one @Renown.

In actuality, if this is true, then it’s cool of you to admit this, rather than scramble to find something it fits or just go “well, plans change.” I’m sure there will be something that it could retroactively fit, though. What is Star Wars, if not retcons persevering?

One thing that bugs me about that is that it's clearly implied that the whales took his ship and a few others too, so it's weird that Thrawn's was the only one on Peridia in Ahsoka.

I always just assumed the others didn't make it.

IIRC Pellaeon wasn't directly in that attack group. Thrawn was contacting him for reinforcements or something. I think the other couple ships they took just straight up didn't make it to peridea and got lost in hyperspace or exploded.

I guess, but I don't know what else you can really do at that scale without introducing new elements.
