Also the downscaled rebel one from Yavin IV, making it a whopping 1 year since our last one, but if we're specifically talking about rebel ones at proper playscale then it definitely is 8, so definitely way overdue.

X-Wings (OK, that one's obvious), Y-Wings and A-Wings have all been released since the last B-Wing! It's been 10 long years since the last System set and we're long overdue a remake.

Knowing LEGO, this will never happen. we got one playset for the 25th anniversary of TPM. Its an obscure vehicle and were already overdue for an MTT and a republic cruiser.

I think were overdue for a Y-wing in that regard, next year will be 8 years since the last one.

It's been 10+ years since we got a B wing.

Granted, the UCS version didn't sell well so I think they have been reluctant to release another.

When was the last time we had a large ship that only serves as a transport and isn‘t involved in a single action scene?

I think the closest to that would be 2009's 8036 Separatist Shuttle - it does have some Battle Droids, but the focus is on two diplomats. And it may have been in an action scene as well - I don't remember early Clone Wars all that well - but it's definitely not a battle ship.

I suppose something like that could work as a way to get some jedi - but you're going to sell a lot more sets if they're with a fighting ship and some clones.

I'd like a new B-wing but I feel like the LEGO sets of it have never been too popular.

I remember someone years ago (before there was such a thing as a Clone Wars series) theorising that we didn't have a Naboo Royal Starship because of the sheer amount of chrome pieces it would need. You could do it in dark grey I suppose, but it might look like a dodgy attempt at the Sith Infiltrator!!

The Iron Man helmet, C-3PO statue, Infinity Gauntlet, etc. are done in metallic colours and I think that'd work well if they do ever make a Royal Starship.

Well that sucks. Give us an actual set, not have us pay like $40 for a book for one figure.

I’d be way less disappointed if the books themselves were half decent, and weren’t riddled with countless mistakes that most Lego Star Wars fans could spot extremely easily.

I am both very excited that we’re finally getting TRoS Palpatine after five years… but also disappointed that this seems to suggest that there’s no plans for Exegol anytime soon.

Maybe Bricklink will be an option. I don‘t wanna buy a book with Tano on it 🤪

Don't forget the E-Wing, because somehow the last several years has included one of those, but still no B-Wing! And the E-Wing before that was only a year before the last B-Wing!

Ugh yeah this is so true. And like 90% of it is probably just gonna be copy/pasted from the 2011 version again, and somehow with even fewer images of the various different versions of characters.

Give me an hour or two to read through it and I would happily point out the mistakes free of charge.

The new Palpatine may be one of the best one to date. Finally they correctly reflected his skin tone as white instead of that snot yellow they have been using.

True! Shame it still has the freaky eyes but tbh they're not bad for old creamy Sheev as he is for the majority of TRoS (of course, this outfit is after he regenerates and gets his pupils back but whatever).

I've hated tan Palpatine (Tanpatine? Palpatan?) ever since they started using that design in 2015- I modified mine with the 2008 head and gave him grey hands.

I still think my favourite Palpatine face is the Imperial Inspection version but if they fix the eyes on the new design then that could win.

A Snow Speeder would be nice

Palpatine should be grey, I have no idea why they made him tan

Ahsoka is a better choice than Rose Tico or Rey

Yeah I suppose - though to be honest, I've never personally seen the issue with all-chrome sets. I just know that in around 2007-ish the consensus was that we'd never get the Starship for that reason, and since it's been nearly twenty years and it still hasn't emerged, maybe there's merit to that consensus.

Call me old school but yellow-face Palpatine was the pinnacle

I don't blame you, I love the yellow-faced era

Kinda surreal to see TROS Palpy as a book minifig, as I‘ve been suggesting that for years :snicker:

Movies aside, TFA sets were great, only good ones for TROS were Kylo's shuttle and the Millennium Falcom IMO, an Exegol set would have been cool though

Imagine a First Order TIE Fighter in the 2021 size

I just want them to bring back chrome lightsaber hilts, at least in 18+ sets.

There are multiple issues in fact:

  1. Chrome was applied as a layer on top of regular pieces, which could affect the clutch power
  2. Chrome pieces were expensive to produce
  3. They scratch easily
  4. Every fingerprint is visible
  5. The chrome paint is poisonous/carcinogenic and its production bad for the environment
  6. Chrome pieces have been discontinued years ago, likely as a combination of the factors above.

Also not gonna happen for the reasons stated above

Palpy is a good choice. Though it’s a shame that it’s the nail in the coffin for Exogol sets.

Since Marvel and DC Mechs now come with 2 minifigures, will lego do the same with SW? Jango Fett Mech vs Obi-wan anyone?

In any other theme I'd think that's a given as it's just a poorly lit grey rock with a throne on it, with Star Wars though there are multiple mid range sets which are just grey floors with desirable minifigures so this actually is a shock.

I wonder if the sets for that movie (bar the falcon, obvs) didn't sell too well then.
