Lordhelmet Posted November 21, 2024 Posted November 21, 2024 home one is a buy for me but will look for a discount later on. I think $60 on the high end. Disappointed with the prices outpacing inflation without much value add in the process. Quote
ForgedInLego Posted November 21, 2024 Posted November 21, 2024 I was willing to give Ahsoka's Interceptor a chance, but something about it just doesn't work for me Pros: Cool minifigs Physical color blocking (only two stickers that aren't on the large flag pieces!) Cons: The price Back of the cockpit just doesn't work for me Wings look too thick, is that FOUR plates of thickness underneath the astromech slot?! No buzz droid The price (again) Yeah, I'm gonna have to skip this one, cautiously optimistic for the ARC-170 Quote

When they said it had a new cockpit I hoped that meant it would be a smaller model that's properly scaled. Instead it's the same size as ever, but the windscreen has a slightly different taper. I'll probably pass on this one. Just means I have more money for Speed Champions Formula 1 cars! Yeah, exactly. Also if lego is confident in selling 10 (admittedly very sick) copies of the same set in different colors, I've changed my mind and would like to see Black One vs First Order tie fighter this summer. 8 hours ago, Kaijumeister said: …Yeah. I dislike being negative but there is literally nothing about Ahsoka’s Jedi Starfighter that merits that price-point. Yup. We can even do this pretty objectively- The 2020 ETA-2, which is pretty much the same set, was $30, or about $36.5 today (I'll be honest I knew it'd be bad but didn't realize how bad it was. At least in the states, the last few years of inflation have been BRUTAL.) Lego already started the $37 price point for what were clearly formerly $30 sets. The 2025 ETA has one additional figure. Is that really worth $8.5? (Not to mention I'd argue the 2020 interceptor was already overpriced and is therefore an inaccurate baseline.) 7 hours ago, Yperio_Bricks said: What's the price of the 4+ set? Home One Good. I really like the small Nebulon B at the side. Mando’s 4+ N-1 I get it’s a 4+ set but that’s a god awful design. I was hoping this would turn out like the A-Wing. Instead of giving my thoughts I'm just quoting you because this is exactly what I would have said, just in too many words. Only thing I'll add is I think the ETA-2 should have gone smaller, not bigger. 6 hours ago, TeddytheSpoon said: To be fair, SC has been doing that for a long time. IMO they're still some of the best value for money if you want cool building techniques at an affordable price. And they always hit solid discounts too- a chunk of them were $14 at target recently, and I regularly see most of them at walmart for $20ish. Quote
ARC2149Nova Posted November 21, 2024 Posted November 21, 2024 You don't get nearly enough stuff to justify the price, but the model itself is rather beautiful. I'm conflicted, because I kind of want it, but I cannot fathom the magic math LEGO used to come up with a $45 price tag. (I've also never been one to hunt for discounts) Home One is decent also, and finally a new R5-D8. Not worth my time, but still nice. Quote

The ship overall appears slightly bigger than the last but not enough to justify the price. The figures all look great but I'm definitely disappointed that they didn't use this as an excuse to include the armored Anakin design. Also, I'll be surprised if R7 has back printing. That should be a standard for astromechs at this point. I really like how Home One came out and the easter eggs inside are so great! Hopefully the ARC-170 pictures drop soon. They literally used the armored Anakin design in the last TCW set to include him lol. It’s been longer since we’ve seen this design 9 hours ago, icm said: Well, that's disappointing. There’s a reason Lego is confident enough to include adults in speed champions marketing while Lego Star Wars playsets are strictly directed at kids. They’re usually jank, visually speaking. Alex_South Posted November 22, 2024 Posted November 22, 2024 (edited) The interceptor is a net positive IMO. The old windscreen was better in the sense that it was specially designed to just be an interceptor windscreen, but it was also huge, this new one feels a bit smaller but i will need to see more angles. I also really hope the cockpit seating is actually inset instead of being a bed like it was in 2019. The angled pieces on either side of the windscreen are perfect, the old way they used to do those was trash. I was holding out hope for a new hairpiece but this is the version of anakin I wanted so net positive for me. Ahsoka looks great. This set will look great next to the coruscant guard gunship, those colors really work for me, this feels more like a standard issue republic interceptor than ahsoka's. I like the white and deep red combo. Edited November 22, 2024 by Alex_South Quote
TotoMagnus Posted November 22, 2024 Posted November 22, 2024 On a whole, I would have preferred the Liberty, but the Home One looks fine to me. I like the Easter Eggs, but maybe I will switch out Hera and R2(?) for Han and Lando as stand ins for their conversation before they depart. I will buy the set when 50€ come into range. Since I don‘t care for Ahsoka her Interceptor does not concern me, but Haiyaaa the pricing! Quote
Darth_Bane13 Posted November 22, 2024 Posted November 22, 2024 The Anakin's Jedi interceptor and vulture droid set was $20 in 2005, today that would be $32 adjusted for inflation. "They don't make them like they used to", applies here. Quote

Armored TCW Anakin with arm printing, Ahsoka, and Phase 1 Rex If Lego chose to make a scene on the Order 66 flashback sequence from Mando S3, I don’t think it’s impossible to get one based on the Ahsoka flashback scene eventually. Only thing is an AT-TE would’ve made the most sense which I can’t imagine will be revisited anytime soon. Ever since we got Mace in his Clone Wars armour with arm printing, I’ve been keeping my fingers crossed for getting Anakin and Obi-Wan in their Clone Wars armour too. That and P1 Rex are the only figure variants I still want from that era. Home One looks great, pleasantly surprised to see Hera in there! These midi-scale ships aren’t my thing but they’re certainly nice to look at. As harsh as my opinion has been on Ahsoka’s Eta-2, her minifigure looks excellent and I appreciate how they’ve mostly accomplished the Jedi Order logo being emblazoned on the ship through bricks and stickers. I know it’s a trivial mod to make and I suspect Lego have mostly dropped these because they’re quite fiddly, but I really miss starfighters having control yokes for minifigures to hold. It always added a nice degree of interaction between character and vehicle. Edited November 22, 2024 by Kaijumeister Quote

Definitely not a coincidence that the ARC-170 and Plo’s JSF are releasing within the same year. Part of me hopes Lego will attempt a dual moulded piece for the Clone Pilots with a visor, but that approach seldom works out. Quote

It's 2/3ds the piece count and very simple compared to the 2014-2025 design type. Anakin's 2020 interceptor is a better comparison IMO because it's a near-identical set. Quote

Balrogofmorgoth Posted November 23, 2024 Posted November 23, 2024 I’m pretty sure Plo Koon’s Starfighter and the Night Troopers battle pack were just reposted by everyone but the original account ended up being responsible for a bunch of fake rumors I was under the impression those two sets had been discredited as false rumors Quote

That's fair but Lego uses a lot more smaller pieces nowadays, I don't think PPP is a great metric. The 2005 builds are definitely dated, but I think a kid would prefer it to a more expensive modern day set since you get a vulture droid and an interceptor for roughly 2/3 the price. Quote

Did another leaker just come out and say it wasn’t happening? Quote
