Why do I have a feeling that the Plo koon minifig is going to appear in another set, lego  wouldnt have make a new minifig just for a micro, also with the clone phase 1 pilot, It is just me or maybe lego Will release the canceles v19 torrent from 2018.

First, while I agree it's possible Plo will be in something else, lego has had microfighter exclusive figures before, so it can't be ruled out. The fact that the microfighter is coming first also is a point in favor of him being exclusive or at least not directly planned for something IMO, as if he was planned to be in a more expensive set I can't imagine lego wouldn't want that out first so they could draw sales for that before making Plo more widely availible.

For the second part, honestly, it absolutely is just you, there's really zero logic behind lego releasing a cancelled torrent. That set is so old it would be incredibly out of place in a 2025 lineup. Not to mention a few other things- lego has been overwhelmingly P2 focused in the past half-decade, so at the very least I'd assume they'd change the figure lineup. And with the amount of content there is overall nowadays, even with the amount of republic vehicles we get, I don't think the torrent sees the light of day at all anytime soon. But it's been so long since the cancelled one that if it did, it'd be a new design sharing at best passing similarities to the cancelled one.

I highly doubt they're gonna release it after 7 years.

Agreed- the design philosophy has evolved. Even if we ever did get a new Torrent- which I doubt is happening anytime soon, even with the amount of republic vehicles we get, there's just an astronomical and ever-expanding amount of content to cover- I'm confident it'd be a wholly new design.

But that's the Night Trooper Battle Pack...?

Yeah that tracks. Not all of the death troopers were protecting your Dedra- some went with Thrawn and ended up causing Sabine to use the force after they were killed.

As a side note- Sabine's a great character, if I had to have a Dedra it'd be her, but I really hope they reveal that her using the force on Peridea was moreso due to the planet's intrinsic force power. I really like the idea of a non-force-sensitive jedi learner and don't like the idea of retconning characters to be force-sensitive. It'd be like if they made Han Solo a jedi.

Don’t you worry. If they’re bringing back the death trooper helmet mould, it probably means that Dedra will get some normal DT guards.

Unless the 2 stormtroopers in the U-Wing turns out to be true. Then normal DTs would lend themselves into being in the other Andor set. Which also potentially suggests a new Krennic Minifig?

Which is rather unfortunate. Ideally, you could have both phases on shelves at the same time. Phase Is are also slightly more amassable than their late-war counterparts (taking the various Phase II legions into account).

That's actually a really good point. In the end, Andor sets are the only ones where they could reuse those moulds.

I’m waiting for the complaints when people can’t army build the night troopers bp because there is at least one death trooper in :D

Great stuff, the Death Trooper helmet is by far one of the most well designed and well proportioned helmet moulds we’ve ever gotten in this theme so it’s nice to see it making a comeback 8 years later.

As much I respect that army builders want a more generic Battle Pack to amass multiple copies of, I (selfishly) hope Enoch is still included in this. I can’t really imagine Lego producing any more Ahsoka sets after this. Plus, it’s not like we’re getting many new moulds outside of Plo’s head and the P1 clone helmet next year as it is.

That doesn't make sense, people aren't that stupid, ofc you can army build those

If only we could get the helmet with the zombie jaw showing

I know you can army build with them but I do think people are that stupid that someone will eventually complain it happens with every battle pack and then there will be a 4 page debate between those who buy 100 sets and have them all stood on baseplates and those who just buy one

I’m on the fence I’m probs one of the few who are not really keen on the nighttroopers I’ll wait for pictures. I was hoping they would do a bigger imp drop ship as a set. I guess that saving that for the Mando film or Thrawn film

The new book nook sub theme would actually work really well for Duel of The Fates and a ISD bridge IMO.

There are enough gimmicks just want normal sets, I know not related but I hope that the LOTR thing is a one off and there are other smaller sets as LOTR needs it

Yeah I'm not a huge Night Troopers fan either (they look kinda cool but I wasn't a fan of the Ahsoka show, and also <insert obligatory family guy helmet reference here>). I'm still hoping maybe they will do a full-size dropship eventually, perhaps with Enoch if he's not in the BP, then I could get it on eBay without minifigures to save some money.

Agree on the book nook, and it's basically my view on all the 18+ gimmick sets. I just want normal playsets. Midi scale is cool to get ships at not-UCS prices, but the dioramas and helmets just seem like huge wastes of money to me which would be fine if they were in addition to standard sets and not the majority of what we get nowadays (especially with LotR where I'm just desperate for some battle packs).

The marvel logo set makes my eyes bleed, the only way I can describe it would probably be using words that aren’t allowed here. Star Wars one is just going to be just as bad and Star Wars one isn’t even rumoured to have figures (if I remember right).

wonder why we haven’t had the 170 images yet?

also when does the 2025 thread open up?

I am simply curious, what is so bad about it?
Or rather, what the logo set should be like to earn the fans' appraisal? And really, I am generally just curious, because I don't see it, but I am not so familiar with Marvel myself.

Hmm... Well, now that I think of it from the perspective that if they release a similar thing with Star Wars like light bluish gray or white text over a black background, well...
Yeah, maybe I get it after all.

While true, I took a brief skim through all of the microfighters that we've had, and I don't think there's ever been a new mold introduced exclusively for a microfighter.  There's been a few instances of new molds used (Zorii Bliss' helmet, First Order Snowtrooper helmet, etc) but all were included in larger sets as well.  Given that the most recent Plo Koon will have been 11 years old once this comes out, I think it's safe to say that they'll have to make a new mold for his head.

To your second point, I agree, that doing things like they did with Captain Rex makes the most sense from a sales perspective, but it's also possible that whatever set Plo Koon would come in later also includes some other desirable minifigures/build.

Like, it wouldn't make a ton of sense for them to put out a full-size Plo Koon Jedi Starfighter in July, since there's already multiple Jedi Starfighters on shelves and there wouldn't be much to differentiate it if people can just buy a $12 version to get the Plo Koon fig, but if they did, say a Coruscant Police Gunship or Jedi Shuttle or something else that we haven't had made for a while, AND threw in Wolffe, I feel like people would happily shell out whatever amount for it, even if they already paid the $12 for the microfighter earlier in the year.

For better or worse, 18+ gimmick sets are here to stay, at least until their sales numbers decline enough for Lego to pull the plug on them.

I do wish these sorts of sets would be produced in moderation rather than almost going toe to toe with normal sets in terms of quantity though (especially for Star Wars, but we can see Harry Potter and Marvel getting diluted by these too). I get the impression that Lego realised during and after COVID that their system of bricks can really be pushed as a medium rather than merely a line of toys, which is why they continue to experiment more and more with expanding their product portfolio.

The Marvel logo looks excellent in terms of how well the text is realised with Lego bricks, but sets like that seem utterly boring for me personally; at least buildable droids have some novelty to them. As the SW Logo supposedly doesn’t include minifigures and has a larger piece count, I can imagine it including a collection of minibuild ships from all three trilogies ‘flying’ around it.

Given that some leakers clearly know what’s coming next summer, I hope a full set list isn’t that far off. Piecemeal nuggets of information are a nice way to sustain excitement and I get that the good leakers try to protect their sources, but sometimes I wish we could just get full set lists.

ARC-170 pics are out, but did anyone see that Legohio "leak" a couple of days ago? it is eerily similar, almost like a prototype model or something drawn by memory (highly doubt that it was just ai, ai isn't THAT good).

Otherwise, model looks fine, cannons need replacing but that'll be an easy mod. Minifigs look great though, easily the best clone pilots we've ever gotten. Dual molded legs would have been cool, but there is a long, loooong list of characters that should get dual molding before these guys

So now they're saying we will get death troopers ( or a death trooper) in the nigh trooper BP.

The Arc 170 looks good, doesn't really need to be any bigger to work for minifig scale imo. I won't call it overpriced until I see the UK price.

Those pilots are nearly perfect (dual-moulded legs would be the final touch but this is fine, though tbh I might've preferred plain grey legs so they don't have the white boots all the way up on the sides and back. This is kinda like if they gave AT-ST drivers black legs with a grey print on the front). Very happy that they're using the same helmet mould as before- it means I'll be able to Bricklink (or fingers crossed for PaB) a bunch of the new heads with the visor print to replace my old ones. Hopefully they have 2 facial expressions (in the images we have so far they all have the same one).

Build looks great as well. Definitely smaller but I'm fine with that. It should mean the wings don't sag so much. Also curious how the S-foils work as I don't see any rubber bands so might be similar to the 2021 X-wing.

Yeah that was a weird one. The edges of the pieces didn't quite line up right in some spots which is what made people reckon it was AI, but it also had stuff like the S-foils all being identical builds which you'd think AI would mess up. There were definitely a bunch of impossible connections though so I wouldn't be surprised if there was at least some AI involved.

I agree, but I also think we just have too many clone trooper sets on shelves at the same time, especially in terms of battle packs.

That's entirely possible. A part of me almost wonders if Plo was meant for the ARC but was cut for budget reasons, though I wouldn't say there's enough evidence to seriously consider that theory unless/until the year fully goes by without another Plo appearence.

He's consistently been the best fake leaker (Partially because he's admitted multiple times to being a faker so he's not really trying to fool anyone as much)

Plo’s starfighter is on the ARC-170 box art. :jollyroger:

I don’t feel in love with the ARC, and I wish I did. Feels smaller than $70, maybe closer to $60? Nose looks unfinished, especially with the hard edge given by the 2x6 tile. Cannons could’ve been improved a slight. That’s about all my complaints, though. I’m joyed to see a new ARC in 2024/25. Definitely doesn’t feel real, that’s for sure.

The ARC-170 looks pretty good. I have the last one but I'll probably get this one too. The updated figures are darn near perfect and the overall build is nice and sleak. The dhape of the nose bugs me a bit and the cannons on the wing tips are super thin and short. Otherwise, I'm pretty happy with it. $70 is a lot but doesn't seem nearly as ridiculous as $45 for Ahsoka's ETA-2.

Posted

ARC-170 looks great, size is much better than the last ones imo, and it was wayyy overdue. I like it and will definitely buy it as soon as I find it for less than retail but honestly the figure selection is pretty boring to me. It's great to get the named clone pilots, and having all 3 was definitely necessary, but seeing as they're all basically the same figure, the set really needed something else to make it more interesting (e.g. Plo Koon????) and the generic astromech doesn't fulfill that imo. If they did just put in Plo, I doubt I'd even have much of a problem with the price, it would have felt like an almost flawless set.

£59.99. Wait a couple of months. It’ll go down to £50-45.

Same. Around mid February is around where we usually get news. I’m intrigued about the P1 Clone Pilot and 2nd Andor sets and hope for a Endor Bunker.

ARC-170 looks very good. Albeit a bit overpriced, just not as horrendously as Ahsoka’s Interceptor. I think I’ll wait for the May 4th discounts for this one.
