Its been ages since we've had Count Dooku, General Grievous, Nute Gunray and Season 1 Ventress in a set. Wat Tambor are Rune Haako are also long overdue. In fact I'd like to see more prequel era villains in general. Jango Fett is a great start for next year but Zam Wesell, Savage Opress, Aurra Sing, Pong Krell and Pre Vizsla could all use a modern update. I'm still waiting for a Mother Talzin figure as well. Yeah I think Count Dooku is the most deserving of a remake, he's literally the main villain of AOTC and it's been almost 12 years since the last one. I would also add Magna guards to that list. Quote

Especially after the Harry Potter ghosts have been done so frequently in non-transparent parts. (For the record, I do think they should have transparent arms/legs/heads/hair, just with the mandatory-for-material-strength opaque torso/hands/hips, but regardless of what I think lego's proven they are more than willing to produce opaque ghost figures) 14 hours ago, Kaijumeister said: @TandNbricks Has been teasing Endor again, I guess that reinforces it will indeed be the next MBS. *Insert Yub Nub/Endor Celebration, whichever you prefer* Overjoyed, I've been wanting this for ages. It's basically just a gray box with a giant radar dish behind, not the best display model, and we really only see a few small sections of the interior. Yes, I know that the Cantina is basically a tan box and got the MBS treatment, but I'd argue it's different in that it's way more iconic, and we see the bulk of the interior (and thus it can be recreated). Agree about not needing a multi-thousand piece shield bunker. A couple of things that I think made the Cantina 'pop' and took it beyond being just a tan box - the skylight design on the building means you that even when displayed closed up you can see some of the interior, plus the additional shops (yes, more tan boxes) and speeder gave the basis of a street scene and made it more of a Mos Eisley set rather than just a Cantina alone. Sure there would be an AT-ST plus a bunch of trees/foliage with a hypothetical MBS shield bunker but I'd argue a lot of that could be achieved at a playscale level rather than MBS. Personally I'd say the bunker door and the clearing outside are much more iconic, and this could be achieved in a similar (albeit larger) style as the Scarif bunker set. If there was a vote between MBS Shield Bunker or Ewok Village, I'd go with Ewok Village every day. Quote

I never considered we could get a giant satellite dish with a landing platform. That would be new and different than anything they have produced before. I'd definitely be into that. Like mentioned, the bunker itself is basically a low lying, grey square with a door. Both could be improved with some nice tree builds. Quote
BrickBob Studpants Posted December 9, 2024 Posted December 9, 2024 (edited) I agree that the bunker would make for a pretty dull D2C set. A remake of the 2009 set is long overdue, but I think it‘d be much better served as a Yavin-style playset. A remake of the Ewok Village as a D2C set would be much more appealing! Lego Nostalgia Posted December 9, 2024 Posted December 9, 2024 Would be funny if the D2C was all the Ewoks in buildable figure form Quote
Coryo Posted December 9, 2024 Posted December 9, 2024 I know there were rumours of an Endor MBS set for 2025, but I thought that got lost in translation and turned out to be the buildable Ewok set. It would be cool if the Ewok Village does end up happening as well though. I think if they were to make the Endor Bunker, it should be done pretty much the same way as the Mandalore sets from this year. Basically a small to medium size playset with the bunker exterior alongside a battle pack with extra terrain to add on to the scene. Quote

Personally, I think that the bunker would lend itself well to an enclosed modular style 32x32 style baseplate. That way there would be enough space to include a bunch of cool rooms like armoury, holding cell, control room, barracks, entrance hall, potential back door to lead to a future expansion… That way it’s able to function as a playset whilst looking more rounded out. Mandalorianknight Posted December 9, 2024 Posted December 9, 2024 I do hope it's the bunker and not just the village. I've thought for awhile that a cool idea could be a central bunker with a few large trees off to either side with sections of the village. Think the stranger things set, just without the upside down part, and then triple the size. Quote
Darth_Bane13 Posted December 9, 2024 Posted December 9, 2024 Ewok village sounds awesome but knowing Lego it will probably be overpriced. Quote

Agree wholeheartedly. I've had the Cantina on display since I bought it during the VIP release window in 2020, so I guess over four years now. I've never had another set displayed that long besides the MBS Cloud City. I've even got Ben's Hut on the same shelf, just to add a bit more to the scene. I think the other thing the Cantina's got going for it is that there's a lot of interesting details on the exterior - the window builds, the Dewback pen, the vaporators, some of the little asymmetrical greebles and things, and so on. The bunker, being a more "sterile" environment (which makes sense, as it's an Imperial building, it's mean to look uniform and flat, not a lived-in environment) doesn't have nearly as many of these little exterior details that make it as interesting. If they really wanted to they could even include the walkway section of the landing pad where Luke and Vader meet. Apart from the diorama and some 4+ sets we haven’t really had any proper Endor sets in the last decade so I do hope they go all out on this one. Quote

A set that size feels unnecessary to me. The exterior of the bunker wasn't that big in the film and the only room we ever saw was the shield generator. I'd rather Lego kept things simple here. The scale of the 2009 set is as large as I'd want it to go. Quote
Rwbricks Posted December 10, 2024 Posted December 10, 2024 A new casting and their character was just revealed for The Mandalorian & Grogu. Spoiler Jeremy Allen White will be playing Rotta the Hutt. The most that she could be is a former Inquisitor, her romance with Luke would have to be short (so that Luke can be single by the time of the ST flashbacks), and including Luke at all aside from a cameo is tricky due both to the limitations and reception of deepfake technology. I feel like more people would be bothered by Mara Jade showing up and being nothing like her Legends counterpart (or dying quickly) than would be bothered by her just not existing in Canon. Thrawn has gotten development and is being set up as the next big bad (in a story not unlike his Legends one), so despite the differences in his Canon depiction, it still feels like he is being treated properly as a character. BTW, does anyone think that Sigourney Weaver may be playing Ysanne Isard? She is a common antagonist in post-RotJ Legends material, Weaver looks the part, and her father Armand Isard is already Canon (as the director of COMPNOR). We also know that the ISB is still in play to some extent (the base on Morak in Mando S2 was run by ex-ISB), so she makes sense from a story standpoint (especially with the ISB getting more development in Andor). Not to mention I don't think the concept of the Emperor's Hand can't exist- Palpatine essentially cedes control of the inquisitors to Vader, so it makes sense he'd want an ace up his sleeve. Quote
