CloneCommando99 Posted December 15, 2024 Posted December 15, 2024 (edited) The 2nd Andor set is a Buildable K2S0. (From LMF) Noooooooooooooooooooooooooooo!! I wanted a Tie Avenger or Tie Reaper!!! (still sounds like a good choice for a Buildable figure though) Edited December 15, 2024 by CloneCommando99 Quote
Yperio_Bricks Posted December 15, 2024 Posted December 15, 2024 A 1000$ death star? More buildable characters? I hope Lego goes bankrupt! Quote

I was a big fan of the last one and am absolutely open to getting another. Definitely personally hope it’s still a brown one and not clone wars colors. Just not a fan of the blue and grey myself. I honestly don’t get why people hate the last one so much though it’s a great model. Surely it’s CIS blue, especially seeing the small CIS builds in the battle pack last Jan. Quote
SketchBrick Posted December 15, 2024 Posted December 15, 2024 What are we at now for buildable figures next year? 4? 5? Absolutely insane. Quote
Flawless Cowboy Posted December 15, 2024 Posted December 15, 2024 Four buildable figures. A thousand dollar Death Star. A Star Wars logo. Wow. Lego really said F them kids. Quote

Llewop Posted December 15, 2024 Posted December 15, 2024 Whoever is buying these buildable figures needs to stop lol. Where have all the SW sets that are a reasonable price for kids gone? Quote
BrickBob Studpants Posted December 15, 2024 Posted December 15, 2024 Nothing too exciting for me yet… The second Andor set being a buildable K2 is quite disappointing and I doubt they‘ll do anything interesting with the MTT minifig-wise, unless they include Boss Nass The $999 DS sounds insane! This has to be spectacular at that price! Fingers crossed for something more interesting with the remaining sets! After all, we were promised some sought-after minifigs ^^ Quote
Flawless Cowboy Posted December 15, 2024 Posted December 15, 2024 (edited) TandN confirmed his “redwood” leak was referring to the Death Star II, not Endor. That’s…a bit of a stretch, as far as hints go. So no MBS next year. Edited December 15, 2024 by Flawless Cowboy Quote

However I also could have lived quite well with the two Ties. Quote
BrickBob Studpants Posted December 15, 2024 Posted December 15, 2024 The MTT might actually be more interesting than I initially gave it credit for! @Lego_Minecraft_Goat posted a picture of the polybag of the blue TCW version! Quote

Rwbricks Posted December 15, 2024 Posted December 15, 2024 This Death Star is wild… I’m kind-of excited to see what it is and what it comes with. It’s twice the price of the last Death Star (not adjusted for inflation). That’s crazy. Half off is still $500. Double Insider points gets you $100. I feel like the new one will have to have an interior, to justify the price and the (hopefully somewhat reasonable) piece count. If there is no interior, it will have to be significantly bigger than the previous ones, but how big is too big? The proportions will have to be about equal in terms of height, width, and depth (minus a potential stand), and finding space for a giant ball would be tricky to say the least. In terms of minifigures, will it come with a lot, like the last two? Or will it just come with a few? Whoever it comes with, they better be fully decked out for $1,000. Not including C-3PO with the dual-molded leg would be a mistake, but finally getting Han with dual-molded boots but having him locked behind a $1,000 paywall or whatever absurd Bricklink prices would also be not ideal. Best case scenario, we get a microfighter in January. Quote

I think it’s based on Death Star II so I’m doubting that it’s going to have an interior at all tbh. the guy who hinted at it was referring to Ep 6 we all thought was Endor rather than a Death Star. If it was going to be a remake of the Death Star with minfigures I think the hints would have been more Death Star focused rather than Endor focused. got like 10 months until we find out so time will tell 19 minutes ago, Brickwraith said: hopefully they’ll include a clone wars separatist general then. It’s absolutely a stretch but it would be awesome If it is a separatist one I do hope for some droids that aren’t just B1s be great to have a tactical droid or droideka. Chances are there will be a clone and a Jedi for it to go up against (as these sets 90% time have someone from another faction to go up against) we can start betting on who that would be because I don’t have a scooby who they’d choose Quote
mirkwoodspiders Posted December 15, 2024 Posted December 15, 2024 10143 DS II was 3,449 pieces and retailed for $270. Adjusting for inflation, that price would be $436.17 today. This is going to be massive. Are we assuming its another DSII? I know that's what the leak pictures all have but none of them actually say this will be the unfinished version. Regardless, it'll have to blow people away to get any takers and I'm having trouble envisioning what that would even involve. Excited to see it at least! Quote

hikouki Posted December 15, 2024 Posted December 15, 2024 For the price of that Deathstar, is it going to be able to travel across the galaxy and shoot its signature Laser beam to destroy a rebel planet? Quote
Flawless Cowboy Posted December 15, 2024 Posted December 15, 2024 I don’t see how a $1000 DSII would be more desirable than a $500 DSII if the only thing offered is the structure, no interior. LSW is more than capable in 2025 to take the 2005 version’s scale and make it beautiful. There must be more to this than just a giant, incomplete grey sphere. Quote

Considering the ongoing trend of downsizing sets and crazy pricing we've seen recently (e.g. Ahsoka's Jedi Interceptor, ARC-170, Acclamator etc.), I guess it’ll be a similar size to the 2014 set. It’s hard to imagine it being any smaller... but everything is possible nowadays so we shouldn't keep our hopes up Yeah- lego's had some tough trends recently but just on pure inflation+lego price inceases/downsizing, this should end up at the very least the same size as the 2014 one, if not larger. 2 hours ago, Lordhelmet said: What is an appropriate amount of minifigures for a $1000 Death Star? 40? We may be getting that conference room after all. The Avengers Tower has 28 minifigures and a Hulk, so I'd say a $1000 death star should have ~60 minifigures. 9 of them should be stormtroopers lol. 1 hour ago, Jockos said: Well, most of the time, adults buy toys for their kids, so... they're easier to milk. Sure, but it's not like most parents are looking through the lens of what they would currently want when buying for their kids- I doubt most of them are sitting there going "well, this is siginificantly more expensive than most of the playsets, but it's got no play features and has no minifigures, so I bet my 7 year old's gonna love it!" The market for all these are the adults who AREN'T buying for their kids, but for themselves. And people who aren't typically lego fans, either. The goal for a lot of these is to be sort of transitional sets that get adults who wouldn't otherwise buy lego sets to buy them, but there's so many now that there's not much room for the actual standard sets. 34 minutes ago, Flawless Cowboy said: TandN confirmed his “redwood” leak was referring to the Death Star II, not Endor. I’d be curious to see the numbers on sales of these sets. Somehow the buildable figures must be outselling smaller sets and making them more profit I can’t see how else they keep making them It might be due to less licensing costs. Buildable characters might only require the licensing cost for one character/ actor. Whilst a playset with multiple figures would require the licensing costs for the vehicle/ location, multiple characters and actors. Therefore Buildable characters might be cheaper to make. That may be why Lego is making more of them. (We know they cut costs where they can) U-Wing is easily my most hyped set for next year. I guess Buildable K2S0 also confirms that K2 will be in the U-Wing so that’s a silver lining. Quote
Mandalorianknight Posted December 15, 2024 Posted December 15, 2024 Honestly if they can make it a true line flagship, I'm not opposed to the idea. It's one set. When I was a kid, I never expected I'd own the $500 death star, but it was a cool thing to know existed. That doesn't bother me all that much. The buildables are a much larger issue because they aren't taking the slot of a single UCS/MBS set most kids wouldn't be able to get anyway. They're taking slots we used to get normal sets for. Quote
