So it’ll probably have new prints, but not be a new character. Strange choice then. I think there’s numerous other choices for Jabba’s pirates on the Skiff’s. Would have made it very refreshing, but now this and the news the UCS set is lacking in the department is disappointing. I guess the make-or-break for me will be Huttslayer Leia. 10 minutes ago, FoggyFate said: Incredibly detailed on the outside yes, the inside might be a different story. Genuinely surprises me. What if Thrawn's uniform will show some weathering like in the Ahsoka show? Would the torso be universally useable then? Would collectors be happy about this? I wouldn't be bothered at all. Makes it more accurate to his appearance in the show. I assume some sort of Chimera will come in the future given that all of Ahsoka S1 was showing how big of a threat Thrawn is. We'll see him again with a nice pressed suit. 7 minutes ago, Flawless Cowboy said: A sail barge with no/poor interior would actually be the worst possible outcome. Yeah. If it doesn't have the skiff, figs, the pit, etc, you end up having no real scenes you can display. The barge isn't iconic because of the vehicle itself, like most starfighers, ships, and walkers. It's iconic as part of the setting of the scene. Edited January 12, 2024 by Mandalorianknight Quote

You should be able to place jabba in the barge. Quote

Based on price and minifig count I am wondering/hoping it is a counter player to Yavin. So ideally we will get a vaders tie (small scale) and maybe some scenes like the briefing room and the gunner area. In recent years, we've had DS playsets based on the tractor beam/a gun turret, the rope swing, and the trash compactor. I'm going to make an educated guess that it's based on DS I and not II, since the only locations on II that we really see are the throne room (which we just got as both as playset and diorama) and the hangar bay (which wouldn't work as set unless the focal point was the Imperial Shuttle, which wouldn't be listed as a "Death Star" set). Based on that, I'd say it could be a playset based around the detention block/trash compactor (maybe a scaled-up version of these rooms from the UCS Death Star) or a couple of hallway sections with, like, the briefing room, an elevator, and maybe the room that R2 and 3PO are hiding out in? With respect to the Sail Barge, my personal prediction is that the interior will have Jabba's throne section with maybe a little bit of detailing, but most of the detail will be on the roof and exterior and the rest of the interior will be structural support, since it's supposed to be a pretty big model. Honestly, I'm not too surprised that the inside isn't as detailed, as long as that area specifically is covered, since I really don't know what else there even is inside. We barely see the interior, as most of the action takes place on/outside of the Barge. I will say, I think it's odd that the Sarlacc set is being released, as it suggests it's supposed to be a companion to the Sail Barge, which would probably mean no Sarlacc and no Skiffs in the Sail Barge. I was sort of assuming that a decent amount of the piece count would've gone towards those side models, but I guess that means the Sail Barge will truly be in scale. I'm curious if the quantity or quality of minifigures is what's up for debate. I'm going to predict that the figures in the Sarlacc pit set won't be repeated (unless they go with a hyper-detailed Boba or something) in both set, which sort of limits the number of figures for the Barge itself. We didn’t see the whole interior in the movie but we also never saw the interior of the ATAT in a movie and Lego gave us a huge, hollow UCS set with room for an army. There’s schematics for the sail barge, it couldn’t be too difficult. The sail barge, on its own, is not the iconic pop culture caliber as an AT-AT, Falcon, or Star Destroyer, which would still have been desirable without interiors. It’s a giant brown boat, the excitement is what happens in and around it. I really hope Lego doesn’t botch this. 11 minutes ago, QuiggoldsPegLeg said: WE WANT PLAYSETS LEGO Especially when the set is basically minifig scale ffs. This too. FoggyFate Posted January 12, 2024 Posted January 12, 2024 I honestly hoped it would be similar to the Haslab version of it like how the crest was. Sadly I think it’s closer to the venator where it’s just a display set with a stand for two figs. Quote

UCS AT-AT, Razor Crest, Cantina, etc. are givens but I have the playset Falcon > UCS because it has more interior playspace. 2 minutes ago, FoggyFate said: I honestly hoped it would be similar to the Haslab version of it like how the crest was. What are they thinking? Why would they do this? Just shrink it and turn it into an MBS if size is the concern, I can’t think of any other explanation. Quote

God, I really, really hope. THELEGOBATMAN Posted January 12, 2024 Posted January 12, 2024 So according to @Falconfan1414 75394, the 80€ Cal Kestis set includes Darth Vader and an additional 5–6 minifigures. That set is really intriguing. I wonder whether all of them are the crew and it's a fully Imperial set, or if it includes characters like Luke and Kenobi. Quote

I am hoping for it to be a counter set to yavin. Like an imperial briefing room or command center. I would love a small command room with a small scale darth vaders tie. Think like just the middle floor to yavin base with the y wing and the minifigs. (Also would be happy without vaders tie in this scenario with a different room or section equating to about half the size of yavin). That would be pretty cool to have both sets as opposing forces in the same battle. (Would also be nice for them to do this with like Hoth and the command bridge on the executor in the next couple of years then with home one, and the second Death Star. Like opposing forces bases.). Depending on the minifigures I may get two of this one. Quote

BrickBob Studpants Posted January 12, 2024 Posted January 12, 2024 I didn't realise "uglies" were still a thing in canon, I thought they only made appearances in Legends While I highly doubt the X-wing vs TIE set's based on the Poe Dameron comics or the Tarkin novel, I'm still hopeful the "ugly" feature means it's not just a standard OT set Quote
JohnTPT17 Posted January 12, 2024 Posted January 12, 2024 Well, now that we've had some time to sit on this (and no one is saying that the sets are fake), here are my thoughts on the new leaks: Sith Infiltrator: Boring, but inevitable, I suppose, with the anniversary. I mean, Lego probably couldn't do an N1 Starfighter due to Mando's being around so recently, and Padme's ship wouldn't look right in normal grey tones. If you wanted to do another vehicle, I guess you also could have gone the AAT route (though that's been done recently) or the droid command ship (never been done at minifig scale, but it would be hard to have that work as a $70 set). Some Naboo location for the Battle of Theed might have been nicer and still have playability (and potentially temp people getting nostalgic for the old Lego Star Wars games), and give more unmade Padme variants (and maybe Boss Nass, even if it doesn't really fit), but I digress. Pass for me. Peridia: Still feels surprising that so many desired, unique minifigs are in one set, but I imagine it will be extremely popular. Personally, I maybe would have swapped Enoch for a Death Trooper or two (I'm not a fan of the guy - just seems like Phasma 2.0 to me), and hopefully Morgan's parts will be able to be reused for other Night Sisters, but I can't complain too much. I imagine the build will be a small platform/circle for Ahsoka and Morgan to duel on, plus maybe one of the Imperial transport ships? (The Imperial Dropship remake was 125 pieces, but would need to be bulked out a bit). Will need more details/photos to know if I would want to get the set, or just a few minifigs. Jedi Bob's Star Fighter: I think it would have been great if this was a May release, and announced by Lego on April 1st, just to mess with people. I do think the set would do better as a $30 set though - that's a price that it could work as an impulse buy for some shoppers/people nostalgic for older Lego sets, but being $40 makes it fall out of that category. For the second minifig, I imagine it will be either an astromech (I think L3-G0 or BR-1CK would be a good name), or possibly a clone. Might get this on a slight sale, depending on how the ship looks. Dark Millennium Falcon: No interest in the ship, but I'm intrigued by the minifigs. I especially might need to see if I can find that version of Vader. I would love it if "blue outfit Gungan" turns out to be Darth Jar-Jar - otherwise, maybe Senator Jar-Jar? I also don't think that Evil C-3P0 is 0-0-0, as new descriptions just say that he has a "black arm," not all-black. if that's the case, then Chewie is also probably not Krrstansen (however you spell it). I imagine that this isn't entirely Lego's idea though - I imagine there could be a tie-in short on Disney+ that could give some background to this, but that's just a guess. Might be into the minifigs, but I don't need the Ven-linnium Falcon. 75392 "Creature Build": Zero interest - most recent Lego creatures have looked anywhere from "fine" to "kill it with fire," and I don't think this will be any different. My guess is that it will be a Loth-Cat. Young Leia, like everyone else is saying, is also a totally wasted spot (even if the description is wrong and it turns out to be a buildable Lola or something). Easy pass. X-Wing vs Tie Fighter: Like the Sith Infiltrator, it makes sense, but I'm not interested - especially when those ships were just available separately for cheaper (and with more minifigs). Being able to make a Z-Wing out of them sounds nice, but it's not a set that interests for me. Death Star Playset: Sorry if I confused anyone yesterday by the incorrect price! $80 sounds like it could be a fair price, but I would need more info to know if I want to get in on that. Cal confirmed is nice - hopefully he also come with BD-1! Not sure exactly what the build will be though... Maybe a hanger of some kind? Sarlacc Pit: Now there's the Lego Str Wars I know - bad PPP and all! I wonder if they will go with multiple skiffs, or one skiff and a Sarlacc with some kind of "stomach," which could even tie in with Book of Boba Fett. No interest in it, though. Buildable C-3PO: As long as it looks better than 8007, this set should be okay at least - droids are easier to make than furry critters. It would be interesting if it has similar functions to 8007 and had a head/limbs that could easily come off, though. No interest from me, though. Advent Calendar: No real thoughts - the mini builds are almost never the draw, but the minifigs still sound reasonable (at least it's a B2 instead of another B1). Jabba's Sail Barge: Was never going to be in my price range anyways, but I can't say rumors of a small to nonexistent interior surprise me after the Venator and Gunship. I imagine Bib Fortuna would be one of the plaque minifigs (to then get his own mech in Summer 2025, to the great sorrow of Bib investors), and Jabba would also make sense if Lego's still got the mold. Either way, I'll pass, as the UCS series has never been for me. So, overall, I think that I'm going to be more interested in picking up a few minifigs as opposed to getting full sets (except maybe Bob's Star Fighter and maybe Peridia). I am very glad at the direction Lego is going with this, though - many of these seem to be a balance of both general audiences and hardcore AFOLs, and hopefully this trend continues. (Still hoping for Rebel Friend in a set though) Quote

Flawless Cowboy Posted January 12, 2024 Posted January 12, 2024 Unless there’s been new prelim photos of the sail barge, I’m not sure how we could know it doesn’t have an interior just by looking at the outside of the ship. The leaked image from last year looks like it could easily support a spacious interior. Quote
