I’m not getting my hopes up for Saw, but if it actually is him, 2024 is a big step closer to being my favourite LEGO year ever  2023 will be hard to beat, but it‘s already getting close with the Mando/Ahsoka sets, the anniversary figures, the bonkers August wave, the new AC theme, the Dune set, and all the amazing sets from the survey leak.

I’m fully expecting Ezra, who’s also a nice addition though since we never got his S3/4 version.

Just now, NeutralNoodle said:

Ezra would make more sense appearing in a set with Maul, but Saw makes more sense with the context of the other anniversary figs we know about.

Ezra makes as much sense in a TPM set as any of the other anniversary figures

I’m gonna be honest the figs might just be young Anakin, Qui-Gon, Maul, and the anniversary fig.

Not an awful lineup, especially as noticed Qui-Gon seemingly has the poncho. Obviously, dependant on the anniversary figure. I would be happy with Saw or Ezra (S3-4).

Gives me hope one day a Naboo Royal Starship will be made!

If you're going to tease somebody for pointing out grammatical errors (something I am guilty of and definitely deserve flak for), at least call them a "grammar police officer" (or really anything else) rather than that, thanks in advance.

I think it's a reference to Seinfeld. Sorry- it's definitely a reference to Seinfeld.

1. Fives

2. Malak

3. Cal

4. Young Leia

UPDATE: it hints the next anniversary figure is a “rebel with a cause” included in the Sith Infiltrator. Big news!

So Fives, Malak, Cal, Young Leia, Dark Rey/White Vader, and S4 Ezra, potentially.

Overall an excellent list- I can't help but feel like young leia is still a really weak choice compared to the others, and it's odd that they'd put who I assume would be most people's least desirable anniversary fig in a buildible creature with no other figs- but in general this is pretty much all I could ask for.

Rebel Friend?

Unfortunately doesn't seem like it, but man I wish.

"Rebel with a cause" - the cause is friendship and/or wearing red instead of blue under your vest.

I think he means along the lines of some of the others, who sort of vaguely make sense- Cal fights the empire, Dark Rey and White Vader would both fit with the shattered glass falcon, etc.

Doesn't work for all of them- I can't reasonably relate fives to the tantive beyond something really tenous like "he served under anakin" or "clones became stormtroopers"- but most of them seem to be placed alongside adversaries or where they fit in some level.

If it is a placeholder fig, I suppose "rebel with a cause" was a tagline they used for Jyn, but every other fig hasn't been made before- I doubt it's her.

Three figs total from TPM on the anniversary year, with anniversary branding, is weak. Padme and Panaka are thankfully pretty cheap on the aftermarket, but a fourth TPM figure should be included in a $70 Infiltrator set. Really, this year should have seen a Queen Amidala, or Watto, or Nute Gunray, or Boss Nass, hell not even a Jar Jar? Duel of the fates branding but no set referencing duel of the fates? I’m pleasantly shocked they decided to go with a miniature pod race diorama, but I was so sure they’d do a maul vs obi-wan diorama this year.

Another example would be in the Ministry of Magic, there's a typewriter with a 1x2 tile representing paper held upwards with clips. I think the technique has been used like that in other sets too but I'm not sure.

Yup, that same typewriter build is used in the modular police station and the Ideas A-frame cabin. A 1x1 clip was also used to hold a 1x2 grille tile for the classic Batmobile's (oversized) Batbeam. It's still a consistently surprising technique to see, and I feel it's used to great effect with the Invisible Hand!

Agreed - if they really wanted a figure from Kenobi, they should have done Obi-Wan in his hermit outfit from the end of the show.

I would be OK with Rebel Friend as an anniversary ‘fig only if he appears in Jedi Bob’s JSF, so as to fully embrace the meme nature of that set (maybe we could get a minikit side-build, as well).

Applying some misguided logic from the figs we know they are unique and are extremely unlikely to appear in another set, Saw has had ample opportunity for a cameo but at this point I doubt he will and he’d make perfect sense to be one. I don’t buy it being Ezra, the silhouettes hair Piece doest match Ezra’s

Perfect hair for Saw

Onderon Saw maybe? But not Rouge One Saw who I'd prefer and I think Onderon Saw could do with more of a point to his hairline.

I'd say it matches S3/4 Ezra's hair better than any of Saw's styles.

And if Rey or Vader are the anniversary fig in the dark Falcon then they're not new characters. Though that set could be without a bonus figure because all the figures are random enough already or it could have a currently unknown anniversary figure.

I mean with just the tag line I'd have guessed Dash Rendar or Kyle Katarn, but the hair is what made me think Ezra.

Anyway 6 anniversary figs:

ARC Trooper Fives - Tantive IV diorama

Darth Malak - Artoo Build

Young Leia - Supposedly a Creature build of some sort.

Cal Ketsis - Death Star Playset

*Rebel with a cause* - Darth Maul's Sith Infiltrator

UNKNOWN - Unknown

I would hazard a guess that the last set is Threepio because the Artoo has one and also because there are reasons against the others.

Some have said it could be Jedi Bob, but Jedi Bob comes in Jedi Bob's Starfighter and so far all the anniversary figures are made to be obvious bonuses by being in sets where they 'don't belong', of course there could be an extra different bonus fig in the Bob set but since

And I'll repeat that same argument for the dark side Falcon 'it's a very random set anyway who would seem out of place?' Also having it a dark side version set and an anniversary bonus set figure swt would be a lot at once and would be confusing.

The Ahsoka set seems to have quite a decent amount of figures already and I can't see them being too generous + from what we know so far it seems sets based on new material aren't being given anniversary figures.

Now I know they said six but for both Harry potter and Ninjago they had extra anniversary figures show up on top of the initial ones, and whilst these could be the UCS sets I sincerely hope not and instead want to suggest  set 40755: Star wars Anniversary celebration - I can imagine it contaiing multiple extra Anniversary figures and being set up as a party in a famous star wars location, much like this years 40658: Millennium Falcon Holiday Diorama.

I like all 3.

Wasn’t expecting to have the 25th anniversary box-art for these sets. Then again, the Executor had the ROTJ brick and these new ones have a 25th anniversary brick. You’d think the Podrace diorama will have one, too.

I think it definitely will have A brick, but I think one for the 25th anniversary of Phantom Menace is more likely. LEGO did design a logo for that after all, so I'm expecting it to be used somewhere.

Tbh I don’t think they’re counting promo figures or book figures on that reveal. But so I’m thinking 7+ now. As for this figure I’m going with seasons 3-4 Ezra.

Agreed. When LEGO announced the Harry Potter anniversary figs in 2021 they revealed a "full" collection of 6, only for everyone to find out months later that there were 3 more in that year's D2C. So this likely just means there are six coming in standard retail sets. The confirmed book figure as well as any others included in polybags, the Anniversary celebration set, etc. would be additions, not part of that count.

3 hours ago, BrickBob Studpants said:

The Dark Falcon is implied to have one. I guess Dark Rey is an anniversary figure, since she’s the only canon character out of that bunch

Is it? There's been a ton of speculation on that front, but I don't recall a single actual leak claiming that. Plus, both Dark Rey and White Vader (the two getting tossed around) both fit the theming of the set perfectly, unlike all the other anniversary figs. If there is an anniversary figure included it would either be totally unknown or the mystery blue Gungan (considering the leaks were apparently from before the Sith Infiltrator minifigure list was finalized, I could easily see the former being the case or the latter having been a placeholder).

That said, I'm going to predict that there will be NO anniversary figure in that set at all. All of the anniversary figs with known sets are included in sets from the Saga films (Fives, Malak, and Cal in sets from A New Hope; Saw/Ezra in a set from Phantom Menace), and that does seem intentional since we're getting several sets from Mandalorian and Ahsoka that seemingly aren't part of the Anniversary celebration. Also, all of the Anniversary sets so far seem to have main minifig selections that aren't particularly exciting for longtime collectors (no new characters in Tantive, only R2-D2 in R2-D2, a small selection of retreads in the Sith Infiltrator) and the anniversary figures are there to spice things up. Feel free to disagree, but I think a set the Dark Falcon's figures are exciting enough already.

We don't know if there are actual a few more figs in the infiltrator, the list is preliminary and nothing is fully confirmed till the sets is being sold.

I feel like if anything Rebel Friend would be the anniversary figure confirmed for the new Visual Dictionary, rather than being in any of the sets.

I think people would go nuts for a Vader figure with the fractured helmet. They were grabbing knives and doing it themselves the moment the finale aired. Young Leia is an absolute meme of a character, literally no one asked for it, it’s boring for kids, it’s boring for adults.

So far for the anniversary figures we have

TCW

KOTOR

Kenobi

Fallen Order

If we’re getting two more it would make sense if they’re from

Rebels and any of the following

Tales of the Jedi

Book of Boba Fett

Holiday Special

Resistance (unlikely IMO)

Bad Batch (unlikely IMO)

I’m just going off what foggy has suggested so far. I hope we have an incomplete picture.

Look, as much as I personally want a minifigure of Chewbacca's dad with the VR pron headset on, I doubt it's very high on LEGO's to-do list.

I wouldn’t rule out holiday special boba fett coming out this year.

That would absolutely be a cool figure, but I think it's made unlikely by the fact that we're getting a movie Boba in one of the summer sets, so I don't know if LEGO would consider a variant of him as an anniversary figure enough of a draw as, say, Malak or Cal.

What about as the Book figure or possibly promo figure in the May 4th set though?

Maybe? The description for the book said the figure has "special anniversary detailing" which to me implies something along the lines of the 20th anniversary figs, but I guess a Boba with unique detailing released as an anniversary figure would TECHNICALLY have "special anniversary detailing", though that explanation feels a bit esoteric.

Or a Purge Trooper, or even just like Fourth Sister or something. At least a design that's more visually interesting (also, every known anniversary fig is a powerful combatant, further isolating Young Leia, who, while somehow able to outmaneuver trained bounty hunters, is still a literal child with no powers at that time.)

Well if we don't get him in that, we'll just need Andor S2 to involve a rebel fleet trooper with a red shirt.

Young leia isn't a new character either, though- I think Dark Rey and White Vader are both different enough to be labeled anniversary figs. I'd also say that the timeline discrepancy makes it somewhat likely to me that one of them IS the anniversary fig- my money's on infinities Vader- but like you say, it's a shattered glass/what if set, so nothing's off the table for the "normal" figures.

Exactly- it's difficult to tell why lego thought the character would be a good move here, especially for the creature set, since more system scale/fig focused fans could be enticed to buy it with an anniversary figure. Malak has drawn significantly more attention to R2 than it would otherwise garner. It's odd to me that they're putting what feels to be almost the objectively least popular/iconic figure in one of the sets that needs it most.

My only guess is they wanted a female anniversary character in a male-dominated lineup, but as you said there’s other, more appealing characters like the fourth sister to fill this slot. Padme in one of her countless, fantastic dresses from the prequels would have been ideal to me.
