Idk if this is really a hot take but Lego should leave off the clones (phase 2 atleast) for a year or two, I've really gotten sick of how many we've been getting in literally the span of only 2 years. Many many sets, multiple battle packs of literally the same legion, foil packs, etc. I get that people like them and sure, I love clones too, but this is getting too much imo. Especially with the lack of CIS figures and vehicles on shelves, it's just a massive imbalance.

Don't slip the 181st, canon 187th, 442nd and 87th in there like they're actual meaningful clone units that have any kind of source material, jedi generals, scenes and commanders to be attached to.
181st and 87th are dice creations that exist for 2 purposes: a default skin for Naboo and Kashyyyk and to pad the loot boxes back when the game had those. They're only canon because disney doesn't care to say they're not. They're 501st but reskinned to moss green and maroon.
The canon version of the 187th are seen in a dimly lit scene in one episode of the clone wars and they are a dull shade of brown that only a jedi as boring as the Clone Wars version of Mace Windu could have selected because he's a librarian with a lightsaber.
The 442nd are just green 212th and were cut from their movie.

At least legends 187th looked cool, even if they are just recoloured shock troopers.

If lego makes them before updating the phase 1 officers and making specialised phase 1s again like the ARF troopers, 501st and 212th (yes, painted phase 1s existed, go watch the show) or even updating some of the CIS droids like commandos, tactical droids, super tactical droids OR EVEEEEN just doing something vastly more interesting with another era of star wars like Shore Troopers, Shadow Scout Troopers (make it happen lego, i really want this now) and Death Troopers it would be utterly shameful.

IMO lego should take the next 4 or 5 years to pump out secondary legions like 327, Wolfpack, 91st Recon, Galactic Marines, 41st Elite/Scout Corps/Battalion while the demand for clones is still high and then move back to phase 1s or just give clones a 3 year break and come back with updated helmets with new accessories and arm printing and then pace themselves slowly with another decade of putting out the same core legions again at a much higher quality with updated vehicle builds. Rather than just scowering every book, video game, comic and fan site for every 19th Scuba Corps, 7575th Kitchen Company and 982nd 501st Clones with orange prints legion they can stick to their 2020 mold and shove in a battlepack with some inbred imposter of a speeder build for increasing amounts of money.

100% agree. It's one of those things where I hear "lego doesn't listen to fans" and just wonder if they've seen store shelves. People were demanding clones, and they've given us so many that I'm starting to get sick of them. After this 2024 battle pack, the only clone set I want left is a cheaper 212th set. I have just about enough clone troopers now.

On the bright side, army-building some form of clones should become much more affordable as time goes on, now that the supply is so saturated.

Ok true there, but at least make the 501st in the BARC speeder then, it’s unfair that you need to buy 2 battlepacks to get regular 501st troopers by swapping helmets, just use the officer and specialist helmet from the 501st battlepack and the 332nd torso and legs from the battle pack (which are different from the AAT if you look closely)

I don’t understand how you are simultaneously complaining about us getting a clone legion besides the 501st and also complaining that we don’t have enough other legions

TBH I don't see them fixing the helmet printing for newer 212 clones the same way the new helmet mold is also not going to be changed to lower the holes. Airborne troops are a safe bet if we get another set on Utupau or with 212 troops.

Not a hot take but as someone who wanted to see more clones I was really happy with the over-saturation. The only issue for me is that the newer p2 helmets look worse than the older ones and while it is a small gripe I don't like how my P2 clones have different molds depending on the year. IMO the mold issue and the redundancy of the 501st and Foil packs coupled with poor prints/designs on 212 troops and p2 Fox have contributed to the lack of hype/support for newer clone sets that people were asking for pre-2022. Also, I completely agree the CIS desperately needs representation on shelves but I think since they haven't shown up in any of the recent shows (bar one BB episode) it is harder for Lego to justify making a Droid Gunship over a wildly popular Ahsoka set or a Mando fang.

Also, the sets the clones have come with aren't great. As an example, I got the Ghost and Gunship this year, and after building both the Ghost is a significantly better set. The gunship feels small and it's definitely lacking in terms of features that come with the older Gunships. The Ghost is great as a display and has a ton of compartments and features that make it feel more worthy as a buy. Also def doesn't help that the Gunship is a color that only appears in canon for 2 episodes of the CW. 

So while I do love the number of clones we're getting I also think a short break from cloens would be good for Lego. Instead of 3-4 clone sets they should make 3-4 Bad Batch and Andor sets, 2 shows that haven't gotten the coverage they need in terms of characters, new ships, and locations (Narkina 5 PLS).

I’m fine with the constant clone releases but I do believe they should focus on the special units too like the marines,At rt drivers,BARC troops,airborne,commandos etc.

Yeah I can agree with this, the clone sets are pretty lacking imo. And yeah you're right the popularity of something clone or the latest show will always take priority for Lego as a company that wants sales over some CIS droid set, alot of the times we as fans think we're the center of the world and the company will cater to us 🤣

I can, actually; the 212th are one of the most iconic Clone units (only surpassed by the 501st), yet we have only gotten them in one large set and an Advent Calendar. People complained about the helmet printing as soon as images of the physical Minifigs appeared, and we have not seen them since. Additionally, the 2024 Clones vs. Droids battle pack would make more sense as a 212th pack, yet we are getting a three Shines and a Shock Trooper instead (which reuse existing parts, with the exception of the P2 Shiny helmet); I can see an earlier iteration of, or idea for, this set being a 212th pack that ended up changing because of the response to the 212th helmet prints (leading LEGO to make a pack with desirable reuses instead). 
I suspect that we will get a 212th battle pack with corrected helmet printing and Airborne Troopers either in 2HY 2024 or 2025.

Grogu's Escape minifigure lineup is wrong according to Brick Clicker. Hasn't said what it really is but apparently it's not 2 Shock Troopers.

What was the original source of it being 2 Shocks?

I hope they do, the 2014 Utapau Troopers set is a thing of beauty. Would love to see it updated.

Where did he say that? I am honestly not surprised, since getting Shock Troopers in two $30 sets in one HY felt unrealistic; my guess is that we get at least one 501st Trooper, and maybe an anniversary character? @Renown?

Three 212th Troopers with fixed helmet printing, one 212th Airborne Trooper, and the build is a Crab Droid! Make it happen, LEGO!!

Personally I'm not too bothered by the clones at the moment but I do agree that there are issues. Getting literally anything CIS would be nice, and at this point I do think they should cut back a little bit on the amount we're getting. One battle pack per year seems reasonable to me, more than that and it feels like it's starting to cut into other factions that also need it.

I swear to god if they put 501st in another damn set, complete waste of potential when 501sts are so easy to get they're like $7, nobody is making a saving by spending $30 to get two of them with a pair of named character. Just make Kelleran Beq an anniversary fig at that point because what am I gonna go out and buy my 10th grogu, 50th 501st trooper and my 10th barc speeder just to come out the other side with nothing new but Beq? At least shock troopers would be supplementary to the battlepack and the gunship.

I have one Grogu, one 501st clone (from a magazine) and no barc speeder  Maybe the set is for people like me

Yeah, this set doesn't interest me personally but I am sure it will be great for some folks, lego has a long history of re-releasing stuff which is good for folks who miss out for various reasons, or are just getting into LEGO. They don't get it perfect but they do it better than some other toy companies haha.

Yeah, obviously i was kidding. If i wanted more Grogus and Clones, of course i would have aquirred them. My local supermarket alone had like 12 of the magazines and that would have been just one source for the figs.

What i wanted to say is, that every set has its customers. And people who already have substantial numbers of the presented minifigs and speeders maybe are not the target audience for such a set. Personaly i am looking forward to see the Kelleran Beq minifig.
