Why is Bricklink down?

Bricklink may be back up and running. But because it's the holidays (And just to be absolutely safe) I'm at least gonna hold off on orders until the new year.

It's almost embarrassing how much I missed Bricklink. Not even buying stuff, just browsing the catalogue. It's like going to an old friend's house for the first time in years.

No I've not experienced hacking. However I have changed email details in the past and there was no indication sent to the previous address when changing it. It would have probably been 9-10 years ago but I remember thinking it was rather insecure if an account had been hacked as it instantly locks out the owner as they will not be able to receive a change password link. Maybe it has changed now. If it hasn't,  it should be.

Totally agree. I've moderated on several sites and hackers have always been a concern which has intensified over time. Those people are as low level scum as the ones who bilk old people via the phone or internet out of their life savings with various scams. I don't lean towards violence but take no prisoner swat raids of these low lives would not cause me to lose any sleep at night. Bricklink handled this very well and I am not only glad they are back up and running, but placed an order there this morning.

As I just got a pm from a low rated seller saying they were selling off their entire inventory.

Yea like I'm gonna fall for that. 

Store was Altitude Bricks so keep an eye out for them. Might be a scammer.

Bricklink is not down and Altitude Bricks does not exist on Bricklink.

There is a store with that name on BL, also in Canada, quite low seller feedback too.
