Oh, I had a bad week so far!

Two days ago I picked up my post office MOC from the Lego shop in Oberhausen. (Btw. expect to see pics of all four modular buildings in my thread in the future  )

I feared losing my avatar minifig (that was on display as well) in the bag, so I decided to put it in a small plastic tube wich cap. The whole thing went in my front pocket of my trousers.

BIG MISTAKE!

We then went further to Starlight Express in Bochum, not far away from the store.

When we were back home I realized that I had lost the tube! :sing::cry_sad:

I checked the car - it wasn´t there. I immediately phoned Starlight Express, they laughed about the minifig :hmpf_bad: but couldn´t help me. I had to phoe again the next day. But still it wasn´t to be found. Maybe some lucky child picked it up. :sadnew:

Today I pulled my MOC out of the bag and realized my yellow post-bicycle was missing. You can see it here right in front of the building. Somehow it got lost in the store in Oberhausen.

Why in all the world the most expensive part of the MOC, being worth 5$+ at BL? :sing::cry_sad:

Because it´s too late right now I have to phone the store tomorrow. I will, you bet your head!

And if this would not be enough I went to the Legoland Discovery Centre in Duisburg with my two sons today.

Yesterday I already bought online tickets for no reason, just to have them before leaving.

BIG MISTAKE!

Luckily due to the online tickets I didn´t have to wait to get in, the queue waiting outside had to wait 1 hour (!) to get in. :hmpf:

When I wanted to enter the LLDC, the lady at the desk, Gabriele (a name to remember! :hmpf_bad: ) did not accept my "if you pay an adult fee we let your child go in for free"-coupon. Because I had bought the other two tickets online! We had a five minute argument, then I decided to pay another f***ing 9 € just to get in. I was soooo upset! Still my pulse goes up to 120 while I´m thinking of it.:angry:

To cut a long story short: The LLDC was a big disappointment! The word miniland has gotten a whole new meaning now: The space needed for this miniland really was mini! I have seen the 4D movie in Günzburg last year, so did I know the "Fabrik". The dragon ride isn´t worth to be mentioned, when you get in, you´re almost out again. :hmpf: All in all we stayed 2 1/2 hours, there was a huge area to build stuff (that was a surprise), but otherwise there was no interaction. My older son also was disappointed.

So all of you guys who want to visit LLDC in Duisburg rethink your decision!

And if you go don´t (DON´T!) buy your tickets online if you have a coupon!!!

These were my last three days.

Come on guys, cheer me up, will you?! :cry_sad:

Dont forget, LLDC and all legolands are no longer owned by lego, so the people their dont need/want to care about your experience with lego, they just want your $$$ for you and your kids to get in.I'm sure if you went while it was still owned by lego, you would have had a much nicer experience

Really sorry to hear about your bad week though - hope it gets better for ya' :classic:

aua. hat weh getan das zu lesen... :look:

:sceptic:

hoffe, es geht wieder aufwärts.

Cheer you up? Okay... I give you +15 karma, whatever that means. And that really sucks that you lost your bike and fig, I hate it when I lose important stuff like that. So sorry for you. :cry_sad: If I were you, I would take a nice trip to the bar...

Sorry to hear it. I hate to lose Minfigs and stuff as well,

As for the store... Give the manager a call, Shame about all these bad things. :sadnew:

Things will get better, I hope next week is good for you... You never know, a bonus could be around the corner... :classic:

Look at it on the bright side Holodoc - at least you didn't break an arm :sceptic:

Damn. When so many bad things happen on a trip, they will be the things you remember. As BerndDasBrot asks: Didn't they display your stuff shielded off?

You can (re?)watch the "10.000st shoplifter" video to cheer up a little.

Thanks for your kind replies, guys!

I already feel a little better now. :classic:

The MOC was shielded as long as it was on display, but they changed the MOC last week, because they had a new one for July. Then they put in ON the shelves (ca 2,20m high) but UNshielded. :hmpf: It was on the shelf to the left (on top of the 4956 house).

This is not acceptable at all; in my eyes it shows what little respect they have regarding creative work.

I would never display any MOC at that store again.

At the end of the tunnel there´s a light!

I got an email today that my bike was found in the shop in Oberhausen! :cry_happy:

Unbelieveable, but I must have dropped it when returning my post office.

It was sooo crowded that day, I still cannot believe noone picked it up and took it home.

Lucky me! :sweet:

For the avatar minifig: I painted a second one yesterday.

Holodoc is back in the race!

Darn. That's some extreame bad luck.

At the end of the tunnel there´s a light!

Yay! I've had three bikes stolen off me and I never saw any again. :cry_sad: Perhaps I should start riding LEGO bikes instead! Is your new fig any diferent to the old? He's a great custom.

Here he is:

Almost like the old one.

Besides: He has a mobile (holographic) emitter on his left arm now! :cry_happy:

So beware - I´m no longer limited to the sickbay or the holodeck.

"This is not Risa, is it?" :look:

"Geez, the people around here have a strange skin tone..."

How can Lego not own Legoland? Who owns it then?

Anyway, glad to hear Holodoc is in action again!

It's sad when things like that happen, but at least you got your bike back and made a new figure.

The Lego Company only partly owns Legoland nowadays, the rest is owned by Merlin Entertainments. TLC had to sell them on when they were having a money crisis a few years ago. Sadly Legoland isn't quite a Legolike as it used to be, but it's still Legoland. :sceptic::classic:

Thank you guys for your kind replies.

I´m currently thinking of creating a new Holodoc in flesh. After all Star Trek is a license theme.

What do you think?

Does that apply to the one in the US? Because I've never been there.

It applies to all of the Legolands, and all of the Legoland Discovery Centres. Maybe TLC will buy them back one day when they have the right money.

This has really been a bad week for you! What a pity that that yellow bike was lost (or stolen). I lost some precious and rare elements in my childhood. But hey! It's Sunday now. This means that this week is soon over. I hope you have more look the coming week!

PS. I like your holodoc minifig more when it has a yellow head.
