I see as of this morning, the Galaxy Explorer is "Sold Out" at Lego.com in the U.S.  It shows the set discounted 20%, but sold out.

Well, it's not longer listed as sold out on U.S. Lego.com.  It's on backorder and price is $79.99.  This may be the deal I was looking for to get my 4th set!

I ordered another copy. On the checkout page it showed as backorder, shipping date 2/16/24. Now that I've placed my order, on the order page and email it shows as Waiting for new stock. I hope it actually ships and they don't cancel the order on me.

Well that's at least sixteen! (Unless you were in the Cardiff Lego store this April :pir-laugh:). We're on our way to crowdsourcing the sales figures.

Brickset says 11337 members own it, so if we say an average of 1.1 models by user (ex : 95%+ bought one, and a couple bought a lot.), this adds up to 12 471 units sold, for a total of (assuming the US price is the average, which is a reasonable assumption here) :

1.27 million USD

1.73 million CAD

1.01 million GBP

8.66 million Danish Krone

out of 43 700 million Krone in revenue last year

So 0.02% of the company's earning (AT LEAST), so 1 in 5 000 dollars came from this product, which made up around one in 1 000 of the products they sold, if you assume they made one third of their sales to non-brickseters (or inactive users), this becomes one in 3 300, if you remember that a part of their revenue comes from non-set items (sponsored products, theme parks, individual parts, etc...), that this was a niche product, on the middle end of their product price scale, sold with semi-exclusivity. It did ok.

For comparison's sake, using this method for 10305 we get 8170 sales from active brickset users, which would give us 3.268 million usd, so around two and a half times more money (but I think there were fewer impulse buys of 10305, so Brickset users likely made up a larger part of the fanbase). So around one in two thousand of their dollars came from that set in the past year or so.

I bought 7 of them, so I think our tally is at 40 now. :pir-laugh: I originally bought two of them directly from Lego when it was released. Then Walmart had them for $75, so I bought another. Then they dropped to $50 and I bought four more (and I used the $10 off coupon on one of those). If Walmart dropped the price back down to $50 again, I would buy even more. In my opinion. The set isn't perfect, but $50 is an incredible deal for this parts pack, especially given how difficult it's been to obtain the minifigure torsos.

Listed as Sold Out as of yesterday afternoon on the US Lego site.  Don't think it's coming back, so this may be EOL.  Should have bought at least one more on Friday when they were $79.99 on Lego.com.  I'll have to wait to see if Walmart discounts these around Christmas.

Now it is also sold out in Europe (Lego Shop at Home). It was still available two days ago.

Interesting.  Makes me curious what Walmart is going to do.  If they have any stock left after Christmas, we may see a big discount in the U.S.

I wanted also buy 3 sets. To build all 3 models. BUT money... money, money, money... If we are lucky in 2024 we might get nice spaceship BUT Galaxy Explorer size and quality, I think not :/

I got 3 mostly due to the blacktron GWP. My first was day one buy, Helped me get the forestmen GWP. other 2 were for the blacktron GWP. Plan was to get 1 January first and something else. Then it was revealed the bionicle gwp was pretty much locked to a ninjago set if going to a store. So I have all 3

You can build 90% of the two smaller models from a single Galaxy Explorer set. The only things you have to add are the wedge plates and some standard tiles and cheese slopes.

I actually picked up one more of these sets while it's still available, so now I have 5 total. It's a fantastic parts pack for space builders. I got three for half price last year, but even at the full price it's a good deal.

Yup, I ordered 3 more from local Walmart at $48.50.  Pickup tomorrow.  We have two local Walmarts.  One has them in stock, the other doesn't.  Go figure.

For such a price I would have bought a few of them. However they never were sold that cheap here, so I only got one - and that one actually was for the full price. But gotta say I was surprised the price wasn´t higher for it anyways.

Looks great, all those 3 models. BUT I think spaceships need stand. I have this one.

Wow, that’s great!  Where did you get it?
