Aurore Posted November 30, 2023 Posted November 30, 2023 (edited) The nights are getting longer, the air is getting colder, and it's even starting to snow here in France : time for fire in the fireplace, and time for an Advent Calendar! From tomorrow onwards, I'll update this topic with a small build or minifig per day. This year's theme will be winter nights in Embervale, with comments from my main GOH characters Alrune (elven mage and governor of Embervale), her uncle Dresghar and Evrart (the captain of the guards). Scene 1. Night Watch Scene 2. Embervale by Night Scene 3. At the Edge of the Woods Scene 4. Night Forest Scene 5. Stargazing Scene 6. Grandfather Frost and the Maiden of Light Edited December 24, 2023 by Aurore Quote

Aurore Posted December 1, 2023 Author Posted December 1, 2023 (edited) Day 1 : Night Watchman Dresghar – “When the nights get long and cold and deep, the villagers believe the light of his torch wards off the evil that lurks in darkness.” Evrart – “And just in case it would not be enough, Sir, I have assigned him an excellent dwarven-made halberd.” Next Edited December 2, 2023 by Aurore Quote
Sympatik Brick Posted December 1, 2023 Posted December 1, 2023 Nice minifig. Great start. I like how he sinks into the snow and the use of this flame for the torch. Quote

Aurore Posted December 1, 2023 Author Posted December 1, 2023 @Sympatik Brick We do need cheerleader minifigs singing "Go Go GoH!" @Professor Thaum Ce col de fourrure vient bien de la minifig Monkie Kid pointée par T-86! It indeed comes from the Monkie Kid minifig found by @T-86(swe). @T-86(swe) Awwwwwww, thank you so much! @Yperio_Bricks Thank you very much! Quote
Kai NRG Posted December 2, 2023 Posted December 2, 2023 What a great piece for that torch! I'll have to keep my eye out for one. Would it be hard to put an LED underneath? I'm thinking it might look fabulous lighted. Quote

kodlovag Posted December 2, 2023 Posted December 2, 2023 Connecting calendar pieces! Very nice! It was very hard for me to identify that skeleton leg, I was not sure ,if it is a lego piece... Quote
Aurore Posted December 2, 2023 Author Posted December 2, 2023 @kodlovag Well spotted! It's indeed a skeleton leg-with-boot! Quote

I think it might be possible to put a tiny LED underneath. The flame part is held by a bar and the connection is rather instable, but there is a small space behind it. Spoiler Quote
zoth33 Posted December 2, 2023 Posted December 2, 2023 Great Idea for that torch using the marvel blast pieces. the fig looks great is that torso and legs from harry potter? Quote
Aurore Posted December 3, 2023 Author Posted December 3, 2023 @zoth33 Thank you! The torso is indeed from a HP minifig (the Death Eater from 2019), and the legs are quite commonly found in the Star Wars sets. Quote
Aurore Posted December 3, 2023 Author Posted December 3, 2023 (edited) Day 3. Signpost Dresghar – “Indicating directions in a land where most people are illiterate requires creativity. I’m thinking of replacing the straightforward signs we have in Embervale by riddles to spice things up!” Previous | Next As many of you have noticed, this year's little builds fit together to form bigger scenes. Here is the first one! Edited December 4, 2023 by Aurore Quote
Sympatik Brick Posted December 3, 2023 Posted December 3, 2023 (edited) Nice litttle scene. I removed from my last BL cart three « kunai »… it’s now a regret! I didn’t spot the skeleton legs. I kept a few of them for further usage but didn’t find any. It’s not a surprise you finally found one! Edited December 3, 2023 by Sympatik Brick Quote
Aurore Posted December 4, 2023 Author Posted December 4, 2023 (edited) Day 4. Gingerbread Thief Alrune – “One more honourable member of the Adventurers’ Guild taking an unhealthy interest in the specialties of Embervale...” Previous | Next @Sympatik Brick It's the very first time I find a use for the kunai...It's so big, compared to minifigs! But the skeleton leg-with-boot is more versatile that I would have thought. Edited December 5, 2023 by Aurore Quote
zoth33 Posted December 5, 2023 Posted December 5, 2023 Great looking fig, what torso is that from? Quote
Aurore Posted December 5, 2023 Author Posted December 5, 2023 @zoth33 Thank you! The torso is from a 2014 Chima minifig called Stealthor. Quote
Aurore Posted December 5, 2023 Author Posted December 5, 2023 (edited) Day 5. Mouse and Barrels Dresghar – “Our villagers have taken the habit to let barrels and chests outside their houses. Then they have fun filling them with whatever come to their mind – rubbish, pranks, booby traps or trinkets they don’t want anymore: it keeps Adventurers busy and usually causes a good laugh!” Previous | Next Edited December 6, 2023 by Aurore Quote
