pow Posted December 2, 2023 Posted December 2, 2023 (edited) I'm shocked how bare bone it looks. Am i right, that the worm gear drives an 8(?)T gear. So all the weight of that shovel apparatus has to be lifted by a single gear, completely unsupported? Edited December 2, 2023 by pow Quote
Jockos Posted December 2, 2023 Posted December 2, 2023 Well, okay...but wait, it doesn't have a B model! There we enter the new era... Quote

So all the weight of that shovel apparatus has to be lifted by a single gear, completely unsupported? So, as in all small Lego technic sets? Some current ones; 30433 Volvo wheel loader; worm+8T 30655 Forklift with pallet; worm+8T 42144 Material handler; worm+20T (cabin) Quote
Jundis Posted December 2, 2023 Posted December 2, 2023 Hmm this pales in comparison to the 42148... At least a rear ripper could have been attached. Also the red gears stick out too much for my taste. Quote
johnnytifosi Posted December 2, 2023 Posted December 2, 2023 (edited) This looks pretty poor compared to recent 10 euro sets, which paradoxically used to be the stronger sets of Technic the past few years (Mini Claas Xerion, Skid Steer Loader, Telehander, Race plane and Snow groomer were all brilliant little sets). It looks more like a polybag set. Plus, the death of the B-model that this set represents makes me even more bitter. Edited December 2, 2023 by johnnytifosi Quote

While I was searching for my track pieces I noted your rendering of your digital model. I have used that to smooth out the inner structure (yellow 3x5 beam) and get a better idea for the slanted motor 'hood'. The bottom layer is and probably remains unfinished: maximum elevation of shield: Edited December 2, 2023 by anyUser added two more pictures Quote

There are more high res. pictures on brickmerge. But there is nothing else going on on the bottom. I'm only missing 3 parts (probably pins). Quote

Mr Jos Posted December 2, 2023 Posted December 2, 2023 Ah I see now they used 16T clutch gears. Those do NOT work well with chains.. The ring touches the tracks/chain, and they skip the gears much more easily. Quote
