KDog Posted July 21, 2008 Posted July 21, 2008 I think the placeholder was a faux pas, but regardless, what's wrong with having multiple reviews of a set? People have differing opinions. Quote
zero1312 Posted July 21, 2008 Posted July 21, 2008 Thanks for the review, I have to get this set. Quote
ZCerberus Posted July 21, 2008 Posted July 21, 2008 I don't care about the place holder issue, I was a little saddened when I first clicked and the review wasn't there yet, but what we should really be upset... err.. jealous over is the fact that VBBN found one in the US and the rest of us can't! robbo Posted July 22, 2008 Posted July 22, 2008 What an amazing set and i am now thinking about getting this baby. If i was still a kid i would be viewing pics and dreaming of this set daily until i would normally obtain it through a birthday or christmas. Well done lego and well done to VBBN (you make a great lego salesman) Quote
I Scream Clone Posted July 22, 2008 Posted July 22, 2008 Wow what a cool set! Great review all round VBBN! Nice features throughout the Walker. Damn if i hadn't already spent enough this year on Lego, this will probably be added to the list! Thanks again Quote
Snake...SNAKE...SNAAAAKE?! Posted July 22, 2008 Posted July 22, 2008 Could it be that it's really big (mini-fig scaled) and walks on 4 legs? Anyway, I don't normally like it when people make a topic to say they'll review a set soon, but I'll let you off since this is one of the few Mars Mission sets I really like, and I'm glad to know somebody has the set and will be reviewing it. ~Peace well, isn't the four legged one the AT-AT? Still, a very nice set with a certain je-ne-sais-quois showing great SNOT Quote
VBBN Posted July 22, 2008 Author Posted July 22, 2008 Okay, well, some walking pics were requested, so here you guys go! And finaly, the set on display in my Lego Room: Quote
Spacefan Posted July 23, 2008 Posted July 23, 2008 Pretty awesome! I think I'll buy this instead of the AT-TE... Quote
Algernon Posted July 23, 2008 Posted July 23, 2008 I'm getting both... I have a thing for giant mechs. Quote
Lego12 Posted July 24, 2008 Posted July 24, 2008 I'm getting both... I have a thing for giant mechs. Same here, but I think i'm going to have to buy this set later this year or even early next year because of the SW sets ! Quote
Spacefan Posted July 24, 2008 Posted July 24, 2008 I'm getting both... I have a thing for giant mechs. I hope to too eventually, but after I have the Gunship and the other SW and MM sets I want first, I don't know how much of the green stuff I'll have left over for one or more of the giant mechs. But come to think of it, I think it would be ultra-cool to see those two face off each other... Quote
Dark Sword Ragnarok Posted July 24, 2008 Posted July 24, 2008 I hope to too eventually, but after I have the Gunship and the other SW and MM sets I want first, I don't know how much of the green stuff I'll have left over for one or more of the giant mechs. But come to think of it, I think it would be ultra-cool to see those two face off each other... That drill will totally rip through the AT AT's armor! Actually, it would be pretty sweet! DSR Quote
commanderbly42 Posted July 24, 2008 Posted July 24, 2008 It's definitely the best Mars Mission set. This is the only set of that theme that I'd consider getting. Thanks for the review! Quote
Algernon Posted July 24, 2008 Posted July 24, 2008 Where did the reviewer find it, anyway? I've looked around and I haven't seen it anywhere. Quote
zero1312 Posted July 24, 2008 Posted July 24, 2008 Just a beautiful set. Will definately get my hand on this. Quote
VBBN Posted July 24, 2008 Author Posted July 24, 2008 Where did the reviewer find it, anyway? I've looked around and I haven't seen it anywhere. Toys R Us. It's exclusive to the store. However, my TRU usualy get sets faster than most. Quote
Algernon Posted July 25, 2008 Posted July 25, 2008 If Toys R Us has it, I would think that the LEGO stores would have it, and I checked mine... Quote
ZCerberus Posted July 25, 2008 Posted July 25, 2008 If Toys R Us has it, I would think that the LEGO stores would have it, and I checked mine... Not so. Here in Minnesota TRU has the Volcano Base and Peril in Peru and the Lego Imagination Center at the Mall of America has none of the limited edition sets. The limited editions do tend to show up at TRU first if the TRU exclusives... Lego Store does generally beat the other retailers though. No Ultra-Drill Walker in MN yet. Quote
Algernon Posted July 25, 2008 Posted July 25, 2008 Maybe that's why Toys R Us is always a dollar or two more expensive. =/ Quote
VBBN Posted July 26, 2008 Author Posted July 26, 2008 Maybe that's why Toys R Us is always a dollar or two more expensive. =/ Well, they were spot on with this set, with a price sticker of $69.99. Quote
Algernon Posted July 27, 2008 Posted July 27, 2008 Dang it, it wasn't at my TRU. v_v I got the AquaRaiders base for 15$ off though. Quote
dillthepill Posted July 27, 2008 Posted July 27, 2008 You know what is really stupid about Mars Mission?? Lets think ummmm the aliens have NO chance of winning no matter what The humans get all the huge amazing sets where the aliens get the same ships that all seem to look alike If TLC actually put some thought into alien vehicles i would actually consider buying some MM sets Quote
Algernon Posted July 27, 2008 Posted July 27, 2008 The human vehicles really aren't that heavily armed for the most part... and when the human sets are so good, why should the aliens bother you? Quote
dillthepill Posted July 27, 2008 Posted July 27, 2008 Because its just stupid on the lack of creativity put into the alien vehicles compared to the humans It makes it so stupid All around the world, kids are probably like "HERE COMES THE ULTRA DRILL WALKER!!!!! And here comes the unnamed alien vehicle! GO DRILL WALKER GO! DEPLOY THE SHIP! SHOOT THE ALIENS WITH IT AND THEN DIG OUT THE CRYSTALS! THE MISSION WAS A SUCCESS!!!!!!!!!!! Quote
