Algernon Posted July 28, 2008 Posted July 28, 2008 At least there's some variety. The Star Wars setting is much less creative. It's exactly what you said about the Drill Walker, only without the mining part. Also, the Aliens HAVE seen some improvement since '07. The Infiltrator isn't half bad. Quote
Dark Sword Ragnarok Posted July 28, 2008 Posted July 28, 2008 Because its just stupid on the lack of creativity put into the alien vehicles compared to the humans It makes it so stupid All around the world, kids are probably like "HERE COMES THE ULTRA DRILL WALKER!!!!! And here comes the unnamed alien vehicle! GO DRILL WALKER GO! DEPLOY THE SHIP! SHOOT THE ALIENS WITH IT AND THEN DIG OUT THE CRYSTALS! THE MISSION WAS A SUCCESS!!!!!!!!!!! Well, do the Jellies really stand a chanse with non-posable arms and crappy general-like things with posable arms? I don't think so. Plus, why would TLC let the "bad guys" (really the protagonists, but whatever) win? DSR Quote
dillthepill Posted July 28, 2008 Posted July 28, 2008 We all know that the good guys win, but the aliens should at least have somewhat decent vdhicles compared to all the amazing human vehicles. Quote
RDG31 Posted July 30, 2008 Posted July 30, 2008 This set looks amazing! Cannot wait to get it, however I saw it in a local retailer today and it didn't have the limted edition mark on it, does anybody know if there are differences in these sets? Great review though. Quote
Algernon Posted August 3, 2008 Posted August 3, 2008 Did you really? I haven't even been able to find it at LEGO stores. And no, no difference. Quote
KimT Posted August 4, 2008 Posted August 4, 2008 I like the sturdy look of the drilling unit. I wish they'd done the Exo-Force Mechs like that. Other than that the set is mediocre in my opinion. Thanks for the review...I think I'd rather spend my money building my collection of Classic Space instead. KimT Quote

That dog sticker is kind of cool and funny, suits the vehicle like the dragon does the aerial transport. I also like the Drill, it looks like a load of technic pieces making a neat pattern. Is it effective? Like will it do much to a pile of bricks? Quote
jamzee Posted August 5, 2008 Posted August 5, 2008 this set looks spectacular!! strange question but have u got smalller pics? i surf on my ps3 but it cant handle all of the images - thanks in advance for any help Quote
Algernon Posted August 6, 2008 Posted August 6, 2008 I just got this set, and I can tell you right now that it's one of the greatest Space sets in a long time! Better than Life on Mars! MORE than worth it. Quote
DJ Force Posted August 6, 2008 Posted August 6, 2008 Better than Life on Mars! Not so much of a difficulty there... Quote
KimT Posted August 6, 2008 Posted August 6, 2008 Not so much of a difficulty there... You do mean "difference", don't you? Quote
Algernon Posted August 6, 2008 Posted August 6, 2008 Not so much of a difficulty there... I liked Life on Mars. :P Quote
LEGOMAN132 Posted August 13, 2008 Posted August 13, 2008 This will be my next set along with a few mini robots. Quote
jamzee Posted August 14, 2008 Posted August 14, 2008 I tried to find this in TRU but they've not got any of the new Mars Mission sets so I ordered it from LS@H and it came in just 3 days. It looks spectacular ... Quote
