Marius2002 Posted January 4, 2024 Posted January 4, 2024 (edited) Hello. I have wanted to make this ship for ages. I initially wanted to make it in midi-scale like all the others that I have shared here so far, but i quickly realized that in order to get the right shapes and curves to this ship I needed to go bigger. So I cannot call this a midi-scale build, but its not UCS scale either, so not to sure what to call the scale. I think it is close in size to the playset LEGO made, perhaps a bit bigger. This ship has been a big challenge, all the curves and subtle angles have been really difficult to get right, but I am quite happy with how has turned out. well its not quite finished yet, it is still work in progress. Thank you for your time! Edited January 4, 2024 by Marius2002 Quote
Max_Lego Posted January 4, 2024 Posted January 4, 2024 Looks beautiful! Can't wait to see more of it: the rear, the interior... Quote
Guyinaplaguemask Posted January 4, 2024 Posted January 4, 2024 Looks similar to the Brickvault UCCS Slave 1, although it is definitely not the same. Did the other one inspire you at all, or did you just happen to use the same techniques? Please don't take this as an accusation, I'm just interested in the process. Quote

In all seriousness this is an incredible MOC, everything from the weathering, to the shaping, to even the fact that you could wrangle flex tubes in Studio all just blow me away! Quote

I finally finished it and uploaded the instructions on Rebrickable. it does have a interior that can fit one minifig. Yes! the Brickvault UCCS Slave 1 was a great inspiration for this MOC, but as you said its not the same. The UCCS Slave one looks to be similar in size to the UCS Slave 1 and as you can see in the images mine is quite a bit smaller. Both UCCS and mine uses same techniques, flex tubes and curved pieces and a lot of panel pieces to get that smooth transition between surfaces. The UCCS Slave 1 is by far the best LEGO Slave 1 model made, so I its a huge compliment to me that you think it looks similar to it. I hope you don't mind me using your model in the image. (I had to compare mine to the best of the best you know). Yes, the flex tubes are the most annoying piece to work with in studio, but I think it worked out nicely in the end. Quote

Oh no I'm honored that you did! Now you've got me thinking about making an update.... Quote
