Navy Trooper Fenson Posted February 7, 2009 Posted February 7, 2009 (edited) Excuse me, but does anyone know the prices in Australian dollar?Batbrick Away! Compared to the prices for australian sets on S@H I estimate... 7195 Ambush in Cairo 20Aus$ 7197 Venice Chase 80Aus$ 7198 Plane Attack 100Aus$ 7199 Temple of Doom a little less than 150Aus$ And the US prices: 7195 Ambush in Cairo 10$ 7197 Venice Chase 40$ 7198 Plane Attack 50$ 7199 Temple of Doom around 80$ Edited February 7, 2009 by Navy Trooper Fenson Quote
Derek Posted February 8, 2009 Author Posted February 8, 2009 I'll get it either way, but it would be nice for them to knock $5-10 off of the Venice set. Quote
Batbrick Posted February 8, 2009 Posted February 8, 2009 Thanks, but I doubt Venice Chase and Plane Attack will be $80 and $100. I'm guessing instead Venice will be $60 and Plane will be $80 at the most. Hopefully. Batbrick Away! Quote
MagPiesRUs Posted February 8, 2009 Posted February 8, 2009 (edited) Darn, I was expecting the Venice Chase set to be the same price as Shanghai Chase and Race for the Stolen Treasure. On the bright side though, I'm happy to see that the Cairo Ambush set is the same price as the previous two small Indy sets, considering that this one has 4 minifigs as opposed to 3. Aside from that, the prices are pretty much as expected. It seems that all of the Indy plane sets thus far have been $100NZ. I love that one has the skull face print while another completes the Pat Roach Indy character collection (I don't count the Blimp henchman since he was cut). Ah, don't forget the big Nepalese thug in the bar fight (and the Club Obi Wan gong player, though that's just a minor role). Edited February 8, 2009 by TinyPiesRUs Quote
hollisbrick Posted February 8, 2009 Posted February 8, 2009 The price can't be real!!!! If it is that is just plain bull crap!!! Quote
The Who Posted February 8, 2009 Posted February 8, 2009 (edited) No matter how bad prices may be, I'll still be just blown away by how great Mola Ram's headress looks. Actually, it almost all looks great---Though the Fighter Plane Attack set looks to be missing something.... ...Something that is large, German owned, and has swastikas on the back. Maybe this? Colonel Bulstrode Posted February 9, 2009 Posted February 9, 2009 Those prices are terrible! I will probably not get the Venice chase now that I have seen the price. Let's hope this doesn't happen again, Lego. Colonel Bulstrode Quote
???theriddler??? Posted February 9, 2009 Posted February 9, 2009 It's not worth it. The venice chase. But it's the best set, and now this! . Quote

Colonel Bulstrode Well, it's not a surprise that LEGO have in Licensed series too high prices. But I think I will buy that set. It's simply fantastic! 'Bricks' Quote
Tinn-man Posted February 10, 2009 Posted February 10, 2009 In addition "A further six standard release sets are expected in August, spread over all four films." Ha, ha. Told you . It says SIX sets for august and only FIVE have been announced. I still have my money on Mutt's motorcycle chase, as we have a new motorcycle mold and KOTCS only has one set so far. Hopefully, pics will come with the toyfair. Quote
Patriot720 Posted February 10, 2009 Posted February 10, 2009 Does anybody know what those white and blue poles are in the chauchilla cemetary battle? Quote

Derek Posted February 10, 2009 Author Posted February 10, 2009 (edited) We all appreciate your efforts to rehaul the Indy 2009 thread (Much more organized than the one I started a few months ago...), but what happened to the other one? Is it just unpinned, or is it totally lost? I think some of that discussion is still useful... Thanks! -darthperson Edited February 10, 2009 by darthperson Quote

You're still the first post, so you can modify it anytime you have something. Until I've done a lot of other stuff, I'll just keep mirroring that post here. Oh, and I'll move these posts in a bit and lock this thread (I knew I forgot something earlier) Quote
MrCustomizer Posted February 10, 2009 Posted February 10, 2009 The US Prices aren't that bad, EXCEPT FOR THE VENICE CHASE. I was pleasantly surprised at the Temple of Doom price. I was thinking more along the lines of $100! Quote
RoflWafls Posted February 12, 2009 Posted February 12, 2009 I'm not to surprised with the Venice Chase, just look how long the boats are in the Toy Fair pictures..... Quote
Sandy Posted February 12, 2009 Posted February 12, 2009 The price for Venice can't be right in my opinion, because the Shanghai Chase was just 41€ here, although it contained more figs and pieces. But we'll see the truth when these sets hit the stores... Quote

But we'll see the truth when these sets hit the stores... Why everyone think the price can't be real. Look at one boat how many pieces it have. And than TLC must done new parts, like the hats from the Venice people. Believe it or not, but you will see... 'Bricks' Quote

Oswald the Rabbit Posted February 14, 2009 Posted February 14, 2009 Whats atop the shrine in the Temple of Doom, is it a curled up snake? one could only hope. Quote
Jlblue Posted February 14, 2009 Posted February 14, 2009 7195 Ambush in Cairo 10$7197 Venice Chase 40$ 7198 Plane Attack 50$ 7199 Temple of Doom around 80$ I sense mis-conversions. There's no way that set is $40. In the US Shanghai Chase was $30, there's no way it's any bigger than that, probably smaller. If that is the actual price, then Lego really tried (and failed) to beef that up with filler stuff like the bridge, which looks pretty small to me, in order to get it up to that price. Quote
Fluyt Posted February 14, 2009 Posted February 14, 2009 The Euro-prices are insane , are they planning on selling these, or do they just want them to take up shelf-space? The only set I'll maybe get is the cairo ambush one (or not, out of protest), the rest will need to be at least half off/have properly converted prices. 7195 Ambush in Cairo 10$ = 7,75€ (instead of 14€) 7197 Venice Chase 40$ = 31€ (instead of 47€) 7198 Plane Attack 50$ = 38,80€ (instead of 60€) 7199 Temple of Doom around 80$ = 62€ (instead of 90€) 7195 Ambush in Cairo €13,99 = 18$ (instead of 10$) 7197 Venice Chase €46,99 = 60,55$ (instead of 40$) 7198 Plane Attack €59,99 = 77,30$ (instead of 50$) 7199 Temple of Doom €89,99 = 116$ (instead of 80$) This is just ridiculous, I thought LEGO was going in the good direction (the price differences have even been worse!), but they're just doing it again, a big "screw you" to European (and also Asian, Australian, among others) LEGO-fans. There is just no way to justify these prices, the sets don't have to travel as far, and the sales tax is nowhere near the 50% difference mark, so how can the sets be 1,5 to 2x as expensive? And even Americans are complaining about some prices (while having the cheapest LEGO by far), so when the proper conversion is used (euro-price adapted to usd-price), they'll still be overpriced. But enough ranting for now (I just get mad when TLG thinks we're idiots). The sets look pretty good+ awesome minifigs. I'm glad they decided to make some new moulds, instead of just using existing female hair for elza or a 1x1 cone brick as a fez for example, with the new moulds it looks so much better. Only I would have prefered a scimitar (from the adventurers line) instead of the troll/orc-sword (or at least it looks like it is an orc/troll-sword). I wonder if those tracks in the ToD mine-chase will be used for the new train-sytem. Quote
Batbrick Posted February 14, 2009 Posted February 14, 2009 Well it seems the prices are going to be pretty bad. That's annoying, especially since I'm definitely getting every set, but i'll just get them on sale then. Really, given that the Cairo Fight will be the standard price of the two other small Indy sets, I'm planning on getting 3-4 of those so I can get some awesome ninjas and turbs for Ra's Al Ghul's army Really though I'm just glad we're getting such awesome sets. Remember last year when we thought we were getting no Temple of Doom sets? What a dark day that was, now we get a Temple of Doom! Batbrick Away! Quote
