NewRight Posted July 26, 2008 Posted July 26, 2008 Shanghai Escape has been a personal favorite of mine from memorable moments in the Indiana Jones films. Can't wait until the release. Quote
Derek Posted July 27, 2008 Author Posted July 27, 2008 Here you go :Pic 1, Pic 2, Pic 3 (Front, Side & Rear) LuxorV Sorry, but I cant see Lego giving us something like that. If the sets are true, Id imagine the car would be bigger for more mini figures (Indy, Willie...) Quote

If the sets are true, Id imagine the car would be bigger for more mini figures (Indy, Willie...) I wouldn't subscribe that: the jeeps from other Indy sets (e.g., Peril in Peru and the Promotionals) are all mono-seat. So, I see no problem in a one seat car in the Shangai escape set. LuxorV Quote
Lego12 Posted July 28, 2008 Posted July 28, 2008 They still need to make the tank from IJ The Last Crusade! That thing is sweet! I would buy multiples to make a GIANT army! Quote

Everyone knows there was a girl and a boy with Indy.. I wouldn't wonder if TLC cuts one of them (they make these strange decisions sometimes) but not 2 of 3. For the chasing car it could be a one seater, with someone standing on the side. For Indys car I think about the 5-wide car piece from the adventurers line in the back and one seat for Willy in the front. Just my thoughts. Looking forward to Lao Ches face! Quote
The Green Trooper Posted August 4, 2008 Posted August 4, 2008 Sorry for these Infos: On a german Forum, a few people said, that 2009 Indiana Jones is off. Yes, I asked my reseller about this. And he said, that in the catalogue wasn't Indiana Jones and that TLC had this themen deleted. Yes, its bad news... Green Trooper Quote
WookieeWarrior Posted August 4, 2008 Posted August 4, 2008 Curious. I hope that doesn't mean that the sets are getting axed and just some other explanation. Quote
Canticleer blues Posted August 4, 2008 Posted August 4, 2008 Hmm, but that conflicts with the other source, who appeared to be right about the Star Wars sets...this is strange. Quote
Derek Posted August 5, 2008 Author Posted August 5, 2008 I honestly doubt this. There must have been a misunderstanding somewhere. I'm not calling anyone a liar, but it just seems that Indiana Jones has been such a great seller, TLC would be stupid not to bring it back for '09. We'll know soon enough, but I'm hoping this isn't true, IJ is one of the best liscensed themes ever, IMO. I would be really sad if this is true, I have most of the sets. darthperson Quote
WookieeWarrior Posted August 5, 2008 Posted August 5, 2008 And at BrickWorld it was confirmed that the line will continue into 2009, so I'm almost postive that any rumors of an early demise for Dr. Jones are false. Quote
Dovchenko Posted August 5, 2008 Posted August 5, 2008 The moment they quit Indy... it's gonna be a Spongebob overload. Mr. Krabs Tank, The Holy Krabby Patty, you can bet that somehow, they'll incorperate Indiana Jones into it. Quote

LEGOMAN132 Posted August 6, 2008 Posted August 6, 2008 (edited) Most of all i would like to see the Flying wing and the Zeppelin. maybe a UFO from the 4th film or a train then we could get Indy as a kid. And Battle packs with good and bad guys. Edited August 9, 2008 by LEGOMAN132 Quote
Dovchenko Posted August 6, 2008 Posted August 6, 2008 What in the world are you talking about? The moment Indy is gone, Spongebob will likely get an attention boost. Otherwise, no idea. Quote
WookieeWarrior Posted August 6, 2008 Posted August 6, 2008 That might explain why they haven't talked about another LEGO Indy game with KOTCS. Quote
Athos Posted August 6, 2008 Posted August 6, 2008 Sorry for these Infos:On a german Forum, a few people said, that 2009 Indiana Jones is off. Yes, I asked my reseller about this. And he said, that in the catalogue wasn't Indiana Jones and that TLC had this themen deleted. Yes, its bad news... Green Trooper I don't buy it. There is so much left to be done and the line appears to be a success. Either you're trying to mess with us, you misunderstood, or your source misunderstood. As to the catalog, maybe there won't be any new sets in the first '09 season, but there are still summer and fall and winter releases to consider. Steve Quote
Derek Posted August 6, 2008 Author Posted August 6, 2008 The moment Indy is gone, Spongebob will likely get an attention boost.Otherwise, no idea. The two themes arent even remotely similar, so I don't know how that would happen... Quote

I don't know where you got your information from, you were talking about your uncle once, then about a shop assistant. There are lots of rumors on the net about sets coming. You can call me a fool IF you are right. Also when your info about SW is right, you can. But today I doubt information from a completely new member, sorry... no offense. Quote
Zarkan Posted August 8, 2008 Posted August 8, 2008 I don't buy this either. Why would they plan new kits only to have them deleted from the lineup later? And having only one year of an AMAZING and really popular liscense when we've had three of Spongebob and FIVE of Harry Potter doesn't make any sense. Quote
Erdbeereis Posted August 8, 2008 Posted August 8, 2008 I definitely hope this isn't true... Indy has turned out to be one of my favorite lines ever and I would hate to see it go after only 1 year of great sets. It would surprise me if this rumor ends up being true, as in all of my local shops Indy seems to be a bestseller, the sets always sell out pretty quickly. Here's hoping this rumor gets squashed soon! Quote
commanderbly42 Posted August 8, 2008 Posted August 8, 2008 I hope that this isn't true. But, I doubt it. However, if they do a Flying Wing, it will never be as good as Astoriabluelegos' version: If it was, it would be epic in both size and price. Quote
Derek Posted August 9, 2008 Author Posted August 9, 2008 Yeah, I can't see that being an official set. That is bigger than mf scale, when most sets are smaller than mf scale. We'll know when we see the pics, you can tell TLC's style. Quote
Dovchenko Posted August 9, 2008 Posted August 9, 2008 The two themes arent even remotely similar, so I don't know how that would happen... *sigh* Spongebob and Indiana Jones are two very popular themes (though Spongebob a bit less seeing as it is no longer a "new theme"). If Indiana Jones dies out, then Spongebob would be the next in line. Not Star Wars, because it's already far more popular than Indiana Jones. Spongebob is the only liscenced theme to take its place. At Brickworld this year, a LEGO representative stated that TLC is always on the lookout for new licenses. Spongebob has never had more than 3 sets released in any given year and I don't expect that to change. When the time comes for the Indy license to hang up it's hat it will be replaced by a completely new license (also, unless Indy dies a premature death, I don't expect the Spongebob license to outlast it).
