Skinny Boy Posted January 20, 2009 Posted January 20, 2009 Again, thanks for the link Erdbeeries What is that in the cart of the Cairo set? Looks like some sort of gun. Quote
winbrant Posted January 20, 2009 Posted January 20, 2009 (edited) Two new pictures of the Cairo set and the Plane set.Enjoy! I wonder what's going on with the Temple of Doom and the other 2 rumored sets... I would suspect they might be the 3 sets below Ambush in Cairo and Fighter Plane Attack. The one directly below Ambush looks to be 7196 Chauchilla Cemetery as it appears that might be a Mutt mini-fig and the one to it's right could be Temple of Doom if you follow the number pattern (7195-7197 on the left, vertically, and 7198 and 7199 on the right) Or maybe whomever took the pictures got "caught" before he could complete this task! The one below is Shanghai Chase (you can see two black suited guys, a white shirted person-Indy, and yellow hair-Willie) and I have no clue about the one on the right. Hope we do get another good one. These newer sets look great. Quote
Gamer Posted January 20, 2009 Posted January 20, 2009 The gun is an mp40,the set below Ambush in Cairo is Shanghai chase. You can see the minifigs from Shanghai chase.Or I am wrong,I hope. Gamer. Quote
MagPiesRUs Posted January 20, 2009 Posted January 20, 2009 (edited) Thanks for the link Erdbeereis! I can't say much about Ambush in Cairo at the moment as it looks very preliminary, but it looks like we'll be getting some great minifigs, and like Shanghai Chase, they'll all be unique. I like the idea of a stall, as I could do with some more fruit. Now, is it just me or is Marion shown on the top of the box? It could be possible that she is on the box, but was cut out, though it does seem a little unlikely that we'll get 4 figs in such a small set. The Air Chase looks great. Both planes look well-built, though my only concern is that the cockpit of the German plane doesn't look airtight, which I hope will be fixed. Aside from that, it looks great, I love Henry Jones Sr.'s gun turret. Thanks again, I'm really looking forward to the Summer Indy sets. Edited January 20, 2009 by TinyPiesRUs Quote
Skipper 24 Posted January 20, 2009 Posted January 20, 2009 I realy like the new white bi-plane but the German plane looks like a waste to me and is to short and stubby. The other set looks like some Cairo street with a civilian and bad guy which could be a nice little cheap set. Quote
RoflWafls Posted January 20, 2009 Posted January 20, 2009 Is that Marion on the top of the Cairo box? Quote
Derek Posted January 20, 2009 Author Posted January 20, 2009 Now, is it just me or is Marion shown on the top of the box? It could be possible that she is on the box, but was cut out, though it does seem a little unlikely that we'll get 4 figs in such a small set. I'm fairly certain that is Marion, as none of the other figures we can see look like that. Having her in that red/white shirt would be nice. I'm positive that the box was cut off, as Indy isn't even in the top right corner like every other box. What is pictured seems incredibly skimpy for a $10, and I think more is needed. Maybe if Marion is there she will be in a big basket? Quote
Colonel Bulstrode Posted January 20, 2009 Posted January 20, 2009 Yeah I definitely think the Cairo set will be $10. I will probably get it. The german plane looks too stubby for my liking , but Indy's plane looks cool! Quote
emilec Posted January 20, 2009 Posted January 20, 2009 Again, thanks for the link Erdbeeries What is that in the cart of the Cairo set? Looks like some sort of gun. Yes looks like the Batman Tommy gun is back :). Also, does Indy have a new tan shirt torso or is that just a German guards torso? Quote
Navy Trooper Fenson Posted January 20, 2009 Posted January 20, 2009 (edited) Yes looks like the Batman Tommy gun is back :). Also, does Indy have a new tan shirt torso or is that just a German guards torso? The shirt will be new, but in this Prelim-Pic it´s the one from Satipo, his copanion from 7623 temple raid. The sets looks with this colorful figures a little odd. Especially because the sword guy. He looks like Castle 2007 evil wizard legs, Star Wars TIE Pilot torso, Ugha warrior head and an orc sword. It would have been easier to just take the emperor with the indian sword from Orient Expedition, a turban and some frown head. More weird is Marion on the top in the figure list but nowhere in the boxart. Edited January 20, 2009 by Navy Trooper Fenson Quote
Svelte Posted January 20, 2009 Posted January 20, 2009 Yes looks like the Batman Tommy gun is back :). They love putting guns in prelim pics, and then taking them out when the sets hit production! These sets look OK. It seems as if after a promising start with some interesting temples and traps, Indy is turning into another vehicles-based theme - this time for retro aircraft, cars and trucks I guess I will have to wait and see what the other sets are like. Zzz Posted January 20, 2009 Posted January 20, 2009 It is not the Batman tommygun - it is not even Lego. Just some plastic machine gun it seems.. On the top it is definetely Marion with a frying pan in her left hand, and for strange reason the guy left from her is Indy as we know him, even if they used another torso for him on the front picture. Right from her is the black dressed swordsman that Indy shoots cause of his diarrhoea.. Also I agree with others here, the german plane doesnt look good yet, the wings should not be any higher than the bottom of the plane! I am so much looking forward for a headscarf piece, they cannot use the turban piece, guess that is why the guys are bald headed here! Great piece coming, I sense it!!! Zzz out Quote
JimBee Posted January 20, 2009 Posted January 20, 2009 Thanks for the link, Erdie. Ambush in Cairo looks like a neat little set, with three figures (Indy, Samurai, and Merchant/ Marion), a cheese cart (hopefully the Tommy gun will stay), and a market stand. Not bad for 10 USD. The Fighter Plane Attack doesn't look as good, though. The planes seem really unfinished and stubby, although these are preliminary. The figures leave nothing to be desired- they're the exact characters as in the movie. I was hoping, though, that we would get the car that Indy and Henry Sr. stole for an extra 10 dollars. I estimate 40 USD for this, 30 if we're lucky. Indy '09 is looking great so far, and I'm really looking forward to seeing the Graveyard set. Quote
Derek Posted January 20, 2009 Author Posted January 20, 2009 (edited) I would not be surprised if the graveyard set is another $10 one. For a while, the Jungle Duel set was hard to come by near where I live, and I think that is party caused by the fact that it sold well. Extremely well, if I had to guess. I think the smaller sets out of any theme sell the best, especially liscensed ones. And judging by the 3 $10 sets we've seen out of this line, the graveyard as a $10 set would be a very good value. The Who Posted January 20, 2009 Posted January 20, 2009 As crazy as it seems, I hope the graveyard set is about $30 USD. The Fighter Plane set looks pretty good I'd say, though I would rathe have a Zeppelin or a few new figs there. I'm really hoping that tommy gun stays in the Cairo set, and that the figs are all new. Or at least new torso prints. And as far as the last two sets, The Venice Chase and The Temple of Doom, I have high expectations for. I would really like the same exact boats as in the video game, and a new Fez headpiece, if that is what it is called. And svelte_corps, if this is mostly a vehicle theme, then that's mostly fine with me. Especially since there are only minecarts in the actual Temple of Doom, and nothing else. Really looking forward to a bunch of Thuggees and a new Mola Ram. Quote
Derek Posted January 21, 2009 Author Posted January 21, 2009 If we get a fez headpiece, it can also be used for Sallah later Quote
Tim Bit Posted January 21, 2009 Posted January 21, 2009 Ambush in cairo looks great Not so sure about the planes I can't wait for venice chase it will hopefully be pleasing. Quote

True, a small grave yard set sounds great! Maybe a cheap way to get a crystal skull? The cairo sets looks promising too! Lots of accesories and 3 new figs sounds awsome! Oh and nice pics Dano Quote

MagPiesRUs Posted January 21, 2009 Posted January 21, 2009 Wow, thanks for the links sir dano! Venice Chase: Not only do we get two boats, but we get a little bit of the pier too! I can't see too much else, but it looks like we get Indy (in his professor outfit), Elsa and two members of the Brotherhood of the Cruciform. Cemetary Fight: Again, it's too hard to see the details, though it looks fairly good. It's nice to get another Conquistador skeleton, though this time I really hope his morion will be in metallic silver rather than black. Temple of Doom: I was expecting this to be a more solid set depicting the ceremony or the traps, though this is nice too. I'm not sure I like the platform to the left, but I do like the water tower(?) and the tracks (have we seen vertically curved tracks before?). I'm not in love with the mine cars however, they look too long and fragile to me. Unfortunately I can't see any Thuggee warriors, but I can see Mola Ram and the Maharaja, as well as Indy, Short Round and a new Willie. Thanks again, sir dano! Quote

Sandy Posted January 21, 2009 Posted January 21, 2009 Ooh, the new sets look so fun! I'm definitely getting me the Cairo Ambush, the Venice set and the Temple of Doom (if I don't run out of money before that...). Thanks for posting these, sir Dano! Quote
