Batbrick Posted January 21, 2009 Posted January 21, 2009 Thanks Sir Dano! Love the look of these, though I'm afraid all three look like very "open" sets. here's my thoughts to share: Cemetery Fight: Looks quite neat, though I hope it shows better continuity in the final set, it seems a little broken up here. I'm also guessing the two skeleton warrior figs become one warrior fig, with a new skull face. Also a bike! A red bike! Was it red in the movie? *Checks* Yes it was! I'll finally have a bike for Robin! Also here is a spiderweb with spider (always useful), golden chest (same), a crystal skull and what could possibly be a new piece in Mutt's left hand. Venice Chase: Neat! Great that we get Elsa, but I'm also really excited about the possibilities of a fez! And the Brothers of the Cruciform Sword figs are too good to pass up! Given that Indy has a random torso, we can assume he may get his professor's outfit! Temple of Doom: Squee! It's all my fanboy dreams come true! The whole mine cart aspect looks great! I also spy another big flame piece aaaaaaaand......nothing else. Sorry. Away! Quote
RoflWafls Posted January 21, 2009 Posted January 21, 2009 (edited) Hmm.... I don't really know what to think.... I now that there just prelim, but I don't see any set I really want to buy... I also see no Mola Ram in the Temple of Doom. Edit: Oh wait, he's near the skull Edited January 21, 2009 by RoflWafls Quote
Tinn-man Posted January 21, 2009 Posted January 21, 2009 Look in the back of the venice chase set at the dock. It looks like Marcus!!! Quote
Deinonychus Posted January 21, 2009 Posted January 21, 2009 I'm usually pretty positive and forgiving with early pics...but man, they really crapped out on the Bf-109 I guess I got my hopes up too high on that one Quote
Bricks Posted January 21, 2009 Posted January 21, 2009 Thanks for all the new pictures Graveyard: Looks abit too ''technical''. And I hope the attacking figures will be not the final version... -No Purchase- Venice Chase: Looks really pretty. I love especially the white boats. -Purchase- Temple of Doom: Good, too. But the price will be to high. -Waiting until it's cheaper- Ambush in Cairo: Lovely set. It is a ''must buy'' in Summer. Great work LEGO! -Purchase- Fighter Plane Attack: Nice set. With a fair price, it will be mine. -Purchase- So all in all some great new stuff. Cool Indy year on!!! Greetings 'Bricks' Quote
Derek Posted January 21, 2009 Author Posted January 21, 2009 (edited) I'm guessing around $20 for the graveyard and $30 for Venice, however, it would be fantastic if they were both $10 lower. I would much rather only one of the Brotherhood figs, as opposed to two, if we can have Marcus (I think thats him on the dock! ) I will probably get the Cairo, Venice, and Graveyard sets. MAYBE the Temple of Doom if its cheap. The plane set just looks boring to me. Edited January 21, 2009 by darthperson Quote

Nice idea and here are my price-ideas: (Well for europeans!) Graveyard: 25€ Venice Chase: 25€ Temple of Doom: 65€ Ambush in Cairo: 17€ Fighter Plan AttacK: 40€ Would be very nice, but we know that TLC didn't get us these prices... Greetings 'Bricks' Quote

But watch the film again closely, it's not actually a Bf-109. What it is I have no idea, but this thing is too chunk to be one. Looks inda like a Focke Wulf fighter, but that's impossible at that time and this one is inline engine. Batbrick Away! Quote

Damn my faulty memory I was at work when I posted, so I didn't have access to my vast volumes of useless info, but checking my Lucasfilm Archives book confirms that the plane was a Pilatus P-2 standing-in for a Luftwaffe fighter. I guess my brain just assumed that since it was 1938 it'd be the "TIE Fighter" of the German air forces, especially since the next best candidate, the FW-190 didn't have its first portotype flight until 1939. . Still not impressed though Quote
Lego12 Posted January 21, 2009 Posted January 21, 2009 These new sets look great! I'll be sure to buy all of these...... Thanks sir dano! Quote
WookieeWarrior Posted January 22, 2009 Posted January 22, 2009 They all look wonderful, IMO, and I can't wait to pick them up. I'm especially interested in the cemetary battle set, which has something that looks like it could be Mutt's motorcycle in the far left. Quote
Tinn-man Posted January 22, 2009 Posted January 22, 2009 ok, I've looked at the sets again (and i have more time to post) so here are my thoughts, keeping in mind that these are prelims: Cairo Streets: Great set. Hope to see the sword guy with a hood, but looks amazing. Temple of doom: A great set with, what I can make out of the picture, Indy, Short Round, Willie, Mola-Rom, a Thuggee, and a slave kid. Also, indy's holding a stone. I like the new slope train rails, and hopefully we'll see the again in a new train set. I hope this set comes with a tiny heart, but I highly doubt it. Boat Chase: All it needs is professor indy, elsa, and the grail gaurdian to make me want it, but Marcus would be even better. I hope that the boats end up brown instead of white, but I don't really care. Grave Yard: This set has good parts and bad parts. It comes with mutt's bike and TWO cemitary warriors. However, most of the set looks like random things thrown together, and I was really hoping for mac in this set . Probably will still buy this one thought (already sold with the harry potter hair, because I don't have any yet ) Plane Set: Meh. That's about all I can say. The planes are nice, but nothing really jumps out at me in this set that says YOU NEED THAT GUY or MAN, THAT IS AWESOME. Plus, it doesn't seem like a very important scene in the movie. They were in the plane for, what, a minute. Oh well, I've never been a big fan of planes anyway. So, I'm already sold on 4/5 of these just on the prelims. Now I just need to find enough money for these and the Hoth and Endor sets . Only one more indiana jones set to go, Mutt's Motorcycle chase (if that sixth set is real, and not just a rumor) Summer 2009 for Indiana Jones is ON Quote

Still not impressed though I love the the FW-190, my favourite plane of the war, Kurt Tank was truly a brilliant designer, he also created the wonderfully short takeoff Storche if memory serves me right. I hope one day it is created in Lego. But yes, I'm glad that Lego made the plane true to source, though I don't see a lot of fault in it, I hope it improves for you in tyhe final version. Oh, and I still haven't sen Mola Ram. Batbrick Away! Quote
RoflWafls Posted January 22, 2009 Posted January 22, 2009 (edited) I don't see any Slave Kid in the Temple of Doom, Tinn-man. All I see is Mola Ram, a Thuggee, Short Round, Willie, and Indy..... Also, BatBrick, Mola Ram is near the skull in the top. He blends in with the background..... Edited January 22, 2009 by RoflWafls Quote
Tinn-man Posted January 22, 2009 Posted January 22, 2009 Where did you hear that rumor? I saw it a few pages back, I think it was officially called "mutt chase", but it might be the grave yard set. I also thought that I saw somewhere in this thread that there were supposed to be six sets in the summer, but I might have been wrong. I don't see any Slave Kid in the Temple of Doom, Tinn-man. All I see is Mola Ram, a Thuggee, Short Round, Willie, and Indy.....Also, BatBrick, Mola Ram is near the skull in the top. He blends in with the background..... I see some one at the very top on the platform, next to the skull (not mola ram flying through the air but the guy standing on the platform). I just assumed that he was a slave kid. I'm probably wrong. I'm not to good at picking out details in blurry pics Quote
Derek Posted January 22, 2009 Author Posted January 22, 2009 Maybe the "Slave kid" is that kid maharajah? Quote
Bricks Posted January 22, 2009 Posted January 22, 2009 Maybe the "Slave kid" is that kid maharajah? Well, I think there isn't a slave, too. Maybe the people think, that the statue in front of the skull is an other minifigure, but watch out this is not right... Or what do you think of that? Greetings 'Bricks' Quote

I just assumed that he was a slave kid. I'm probably wrong. I'm not to good at picking out details in blurry pics I think the "slave kid" is Mola Ram because he has long legs, and the guy flying is a Thuggee. But who knows? You may be right! Quote
The Who Posted January 24, 2009 Posted January 24, 2009 I hope Mola Ram will be just like the one in the game. It will be rather dissappointing otherwise, especially since I am not exactly great at customizing. Quote

I have planned to go to the German ToyFair, but it have very strange rules, so this dream have been destroyed. Well, but we get sure from other members pictures! To remind: The first ToyFair this year is I think in the UK, so watch out for those legal pictures... Edit: In 3 days we could get new pictures from the U.K.!
