WisrthanU Posted August 10, 2008 Posted August 10, 2008 Same here. When LEGO stops caring about the money their making, I'll polka dance on the moon. Oh, and the main things of Indiana Jones I'm hoping for are the cars. I really like the german staff car and the Shanghai getaway car. Quote
Zzz Posted August 11, 2008 Posted August 11, 2008 The only reason to stop it could be that it got too violent in making official soldier minifigs. Did some of you guys ever heard about complaints against it? I mean, organized ones or so? I didn't. I guess someone just wanted us to be scared with this rumor, nothing else. We got the rumor of SW and Indy sets earlier as well as the inofficial statement about continuing the line and I hope to see some pictures soon. Oh and I am with everyone els when it is about dancing polka on the moon! Quote
Derek Posted August 12, 2008 Author Posted August 12, 2008 (edited) Well, technically, all of the troops in SW are soldiers, so its not much of a difference. Edited August 12, 2008 by darthperson Quote
Hinckley Posted August 12, 2008 Posted August 12, 2008 According to this article, Indy was a huge financial success this year... Quote
Tanotrooper Posted August 12, 2008 Posted August 12, 2008 I hope the sets in August include German soldiers with dark gray uniforms... (perhaps a new stahlhelm mold? ) Not that much uses for the DAK torsos. A man can dream though, a man can dream... TT Quote
Mr Spielbrick Posted August 12, 2008 Posted August 12, 2008 Agreed Tanotrooper, we need new German uniforms. And some alternative Indy costumes, please. And Sallah. But oh well, the wishlist thread was another I believe. The fact Indy was a big seller so far bodes well for the licence! To distort a popular phrase: I believe in TLC. Quote
the enigma that is badger Posted August 13, 2008 Posted August 13, 2008 Glad to hear TLC is finally on much more solid financial ground. From the presentation I saw at BrickWorld, it's clear the company has a very clear, focused plan for the future that involves a combination of exciting licensed lines with a return to core LEGO themes and values. A few years back, I was barely involved with the AFOL hobby, but a combination of my growing interest in custom accessories and the return of TLC to form drew me right back in. Really, if Indy was such a huge seller, I'd be very, very surprised if the line didn't get at least one more set of releases. True, it's not likely another Indy film will be around to support new sets, but considering the first wave of Indy sets released prior to the premier of Indy IV was based on films released over twenty years ago (wow, do I feel old), I have no doubt new sets based on both the original trilogy and KOTCS will find the same broad audience. badger Quote
Derek Posted August 13, 2008 Author Posted August 13, 2008 To distort a popular phrase: I believe in TLC. Which popular phase are you distorting? I've said it before, but TLC would be stupid not to continue with Indy. If its such a financial sucess, its a good indicator we will see Indy again in '09. darthperson Quote

It'll be their main focus once The Force Unleashed is done. Quote
legomilk Posted August 13, 2008 Posted August 13, 2008 someone knows whether this minifig for 2009? Quote
Shoc Posted August 13, 2008 Posted August 13, 2008 (edited) someone knows whether this minifig for 2009? I doubt those are genuine set figures, seeing as a fleshie wouldn't be used in Creator out of Licensed themes and I saw this on the page also... Not really an Agents figure. :skull: Edited August 13, 2008 by Shoc Quote
legomilk Posted August 13, 2008 Posted August 13, 2008 I do not know why but placed who knows there is someone who knows. Quote
Shoc Posted August 13, 2008 Posted August 13, 2008 Where are those pictures from? They are something to do with the Intertoys website, it seems. :skull: Quote
Zzz Posted August 13, 2008 Posted August 13, 2008 Well, technically, all of the troops in SW are soldiers, so its not much of a difference. Come on, dp - you know there is a difference! What about making a Clone Wars tank and the german tank from Indy3? You see? There is a difference.. About the pictures: funny! Lando with wool hat in Creator, Obi Wan with Naboo torso in Indiana Jones... Quote
Mr Spielbrick Posted August 13, 2008 Posted August 13, 2008 Seems like Intertoys has been a little creative. I do not recall a single character from any of the Indiana Jones films who has a red beard. And the third guy looks very James Bond, but not very LEGO Agents... Quote

There is a difference.. No, I know there is a difference, it was just that someone meantioned that parents might be upset with troop minifigures, because of the violence, I meant that SW troops are basically the same, just more futuristic. Klaus-Dieter Posted August 15, 2008 Posted August 15, 2008 Thank you very much for that information, darthperson! Since I'm not familiar with IJ: Will this Shang Hai Chase be a set which possibly could include some Chinese downtown houses (e. g. a Chinese restaurant ) with some interior? Or does someone have pics of the scene in the movie? Because if there would be some nice buildings (with interior and additional stuff) I perhaps would buy this set although I don't collect IJ. But it perhaps could fit very well with my Lego City - a little Chinese street would be very nice, don't you think?! (Of course then the characters and the fleesh style of the minifigs don't really fit in - but I thought about a solution: Why shouldn't there be a TV team in my Lego City which makes an IJ movie. ) Klaus-Dieter Quote

Which popular phase are you distorting? I've said it before, but TLC would be stupid not to continue with Indy. If its such a financial sucess, its a good indicator we will see Indy again in '09. darthperson I totally agree with you here, and I think he means "I believe in Harvey Dent", or maybe how some people have given up on LEGO due to new themes. However, while I found that some themes seemed horrible in 2006, and I too felt they were declining, any trace of that is certainly gone by now. Quote
Mr Spielbrick Posted August 16, 2008 Posted August 16, 2008 (...) I think he means "I believe in Harvey Dent", or maybe how some people have given up on LEGO due to new themes. (...) Yep, that's what I meant. As foor Indy '09, it'd be nice if TLC would give us Sallah. Because he's a great character ("You are named after the dog? Hahahaha!") and it'd give us a fleshie with a big black beard. Useful! Quote
Derek Posted August 19, 2008 Author Posted August 19, 2008 From Jedi News.com "Shanghai Chase From The Temple of Doom, this includes two cars and the following mini-figs; Short Round, Indiana Jones (different!!) , Willie and two of Lao-Che’s men. Fight on the Flying Wing From Raiders of the Lost Ark, this includes the Flying Wing vehicle, and the fuel car. The mini-figs included are Indiana Jones, Marion, the big German mechanic and a Nazi Pilot. Once again, this is all unofficial rumour, and may turn out to be nothing but wishful thinking. Either way, we’ll find out in January..." darthperson Quote
MagPiesRUs Posted August 19, 2008 Posted August 19, 2008 Thanks for the news, darthperson! Shanghai Escape seems great, although it sounds as if it will be more expensive than I first expected. I'm pleased to hear that we'll be getting Lao Che's car as well as the getaway car. Nice to know that we'll be getting Indy in a new outfit (I would've been very disappointed if he was in his jacket and feodora even in this scene), Willy and Short Round. Great that there are two henchmen too, although I hope that one of them is Lao Che himself. Judging by the amount of figures and what we get, I'd guess this set will cost about as much as the Race for the Stolen Treasure. The Fight on the Flying Wing sounds equally cool, although most of what is mentioned was expected. I assume we'll be getting the same Indy and Marion as in the original set, but I can't wait for the German mechanic. It's always nice to have another German soldier too. I'm happy to read that the fuel car will be included as well, that should be a nice addition. The set sounds quite like Peril in Peru actually, with an aircraft and smaller vehicles and perhaps other equipment. I'd guess that this set would be just a little cheaper than Peril in Peru. Thanks again! Quote
Mr Spielbrick Posted August 19, 2008 Posted August 19, 2008 Willie! Short Round! German mechanic! I sooo hope these set names are true. I'd love to have those characters in minifig form. And a different Indy is always welcome. If they're movie accurate, he'd have a hairpiece instead of a hat and he'd be wearing the white suit. This looks promising! Quote
samthelegoman1 Posted August 19, 2008 Posted August 19, 2008 I hope they male the Nazi staff car in a set Quote
