To be honest I expect more from the TLC ...

The Shangai Chase set is cool for the new cool minifigs and the set seems cheap, but I really think the cars look odd . The car where indy goes is really not that well designed but the bad guys car looks cool I thought .

The Flying Wing is just a big dissapointment I need to said . The Flying Wing looks wrong with that much big <insert that tiresome argument> pieces and not including any background things like some plants or some oil tanks is just wrong, the minifigs looks good anyway .

My opinion is that this is an indy line with many flaws and not nearly as great as the one of this year .

Just remember that if sales went well in '08 we have a good chance of having more Indy sets.

As for more foliage/ accessories, since the engineer has three nipples (is that Patrick's torso?) in the pic which I'd highly doubt was in the movie (although I haven't seen that movie in a while ) those are obviously to some extent preliminary, so I think small items have a good chance of being added later.Sorry for run-on sentence.

I personally think the sets are nice, once new torsos are made for the people. The flying wing could be a little less <insert that tiresome argument>, but all in all good. Does anyone know if that cloth in the car is new (I'm not exactly an expert on all those only-used-once pieces)?

They look great and are must buys.

Anyone who thinks that there's even a small chance that these aren't preliminary are kidding themselves. Do you honestly think that LucasLicensing would approve of these minifigs?

Well, there wasn't a lot of foliage in the deserts of Tanis. But I would like to see more barrels, or even the shack that the mechanic comes out of.

Yeah, it's Patrick's torso. On my custom, I say that they are blood spots.

Wow, very nice sets considering that these are preliminary images.

Shanghai Chase looks great. the getaway car is nice, and I love those mudguards. Quite a long and sleek car, and in tan too! The openable (?) roof is cool, and is quite a unique way to put the figs into the car. Even with this though, it is beyond me how Short Round will be able to properly sit in his seat, what with his stubby legs and all...

The Fight on the Flying Wing is fairly good in general, I really hope that those Star Wars cockpit pieces are preliminary though. Although it's rather <insert that tiresome argument>, the Flying Wing looks fairly accurate, and doesn't look bad at all in my opinion. The fuel truck is great, very similar to the one from the Race for the Stolen Treasure, but that is by no means a bad thing. I do like the fuel tank on the back, but I'm not so sure about the front of the truck, it looks rather low down compared to the windscreen.

Two well done sets on the whole, I look forward to seeing the final images.

I'm loving these pictures. They are obviously prelim though. Seriously guys, when you think about it, TLC may cut corners, but they don't go completely off the rails.

Those pieces we don't like are just there to give TLC an idea.

Shanghai Chase looks great. the getaway car is nice, and I love those mudguards. Quite a long and sleek car, and in tan too! I really, really love that set. Once again amazing vehicles, and the roof is cool. Tan is my favourite Lego colour, then black, so that's also good. Not ot mention an awesome five figs, heck, even if they reduce it to four I'd still be happy. The tuxedos I have none of which is excellent, I don't have to get the horse set now. The black fedoras are neat, too bad Joker never got his purple one, I had to make it. Can't wait to see how all the prints end up, Willie's dress will go great for Talia and her face may be useful. The chinese gangsters and Short Round may be very useful too.

Good point, I like that cockpit piece but agree it is a bit overkill. I definitely concur that even with all the juniorisation it is cleverly done though, really gives the plan the right shape. tHe fuel truck I forgot to comment on, another brilliant Indy vehicle, it will go great next to the other Nazi trucks. Like the other set, can't wait ot see the final look, with the mechanic I can finally have a bare chest Batman for Ra's al Ghul conflicts!

I think there were 4 / 6 releases scheduled for Summer 2009 apreading over the four film saga!

That may mean some sets which aren't from the jungle in Kingdom Of The Crystal Skull (all previous ones were)

It also hopefully means some sets from Temple of Doom or Last Crusade which aren't too dark or Nazi'ish'.

Could be an Exclusive, also i like these new cars and the Flying wing (but i dont think I'll get that one) The reason i like the car set alot is Tuxs and the cars arent massive like Speed racer or Agents so i could use them for my new town . And black fedoras . Also it's TOD which is my fav indiana.

I LOVE the T O D set, but I would like to have the minifigures from the game. I can handle her Umbridge hair, I have a blond pony tail hairpiece. I can't wait to see what the finished minifigs will look like, because I despise the Short Round minifig. Shortie's car is awesome though!

EDIT: Oh yes! The Black fedoras! Now I can try and make a Toht!

I have mixed feelings about the other one. It will be nice to get Mechanic's torso, and the new Desert Indy (We all know we have to get that one!), but besides that, the set is a little bland.

All in all, an exciting turn in LEGO Indiana Jones.

Hm? Three RotLA sets were released this year, and the Flying Wing is a Raiders set.

Don't worry Batbrick people seem to be dislikeing some sets for no reason, for some reason . Even though i like it i dont think I'll get the Flying Wing because im trying to only get things the benefit my town or that really stand out, which i dont think this set really does, though if the finished product is better i might consider it.

Was there ever any doubt that these were preliminary when:

1. Lego would give us the Well of Souls Marion in this set? I believe she was in Cairo at the time?

2. German Boxer's torso? COME on. And give us a better head, please.

3. Nazi flag?

4. Jedi Starfighter cockpit on the flying wing? Stood out to me.

5. Lame looking truck? It seems as someone said somewhere that Lego just slapped a tank on the old Indy truck.

6. Is it me or is Willie looking HORRIBLE? New head, new hair, new torso...

7. Same for Shortie. He looks NOTHING like Shia. And he didn't have an egg blue hat or Jock's shirt. His shirt was GREY! LOOK AT THE GAME, LEGO!

Even though there are uncountable numbers of flaws there, these sets are so awesome. I can't wait for the final pictures of the flying wing, which I think those wings are a new brick...

Kind of hope willie loses her job as a royal guard and gets herself some new clothes!

Also wonder if tlg will even put a red stripe on the wonderous wing.

Marion was in the Flying Wing scene. Remember, she knocked out the pilot and was trapped inside. The Wing was located just outside the Well of Souls.

2. German Boxer's torso? COME on. And give us a better head, please.

Without making a custom print, I think the head is one reuse that actually works. He looks pretty accurate there. The body needs definition, though.

3. Nazi flag?

It's a photo of the movie plane in the background, not on the actual toy.

4. Jedi Starfighter cockpit on the flying wing? Stood out to me.

Yeah, that part needs to be revised.

It's not bad for a fuel truck. The truck wasn't all that different from the Desert Chase vehicle in the film. They were all in the same location to begin with.

ALL of Willie needs to be changed. Obviously a temp figure.

Indy wasn't wearing glasses in this scene. He was wearing a white tux with black vest and a red flower. Also, no hat.

Well, when we saw the prelim box art for the first run, the sets pretty much stayed the same, even though all the figures changed. I'll bet the models are close to final, and all they are working on are the minifigs.

S.C : New Indy, Short Round Jock, Willie and 2 gangsters.

R.F.T.S.T : Repetitive Indy and 3 German desert soldiers (there could have been 2, but I didn't think so)

... Therefore they should be similarly priced! (although the cars in Shanghai Chase look quite small)

While that does make sense, I'm thinking that the Stolen Treasure set will be a bit more expensive. Sure this one has more figs, but it is a smaller set overall. even if it is the same price however, I'm still getting it, it is that good.

Same for the flying Wing, how can you NOT get such an iconic scene? I might watch the movies again for the umpteenth time tonight in excitement. I'm interested to see the construction of the underbelly too.
