psqidexslizer Posted March 1, 2024 Posted March 1, 2024 Not to beat a dead horse, but the buildable figures look bad and I do not understand their appeal.
Kaijumeister Posted March 1, 2024 Posted March 1, 2024 (edited) So technically, Lego can say they covered NWH’s bridge battle sequence! …just via buildable figures though. For what they are they do look pretty nice, I’d definitely pick these up if I was a fan of the buildable figures. I’ll always lament how we couldn’t get a helmeted Green Goblin minifigure, especially now that we’re getting a brick built one. Edited March 1, 2024 by Kaijumeister
TheBatstan Posted March 1, 2024 Posted March 1, 2024 (edited) The Goblin figure being based on the original, unmodified 2002 suit with the mask and not the final battle version almost makes this a compulsory purchase. The first time in over 20 years that Lego has made the OG Raimi Green Goblin design again in some form, whether it be a minifig or buildable fig, it's nearly impossible to pass up for me. Including a minifigure of it in the same set would've been icing on the cake, but if Lego can make an entire buildable figure of a suit that only appeared on screen for 10 seconds at best, maybe getting some modernized Raimi trilogy sets in the near future isn't too far-fetched. Matichado Posted March 1, 2024 Posted March 1, 2024 Hear me out people: we are getting a NWH bridge battle, not leak but based on evidence: it would be absurd that LEGO makes two iconic and demanded suits one of them TWICE: the iron spider and raimi goblin without making minifigs of them so hear me out: they will make a NWH bridge battle if not this year then next winter wave cause LEGO doesn’t like making buildable stuff like helmets brickheadz or buildable figures of stuff that isn’t in the market the same year it happened with Rex in Star Wars: we got a helmet early and BOOM that fall we got him as an official Minifig
calebcold3 Posted March 1, 2024 Posted March 1, 2024 These actually look good IMO? I wouldn't call them great but Way better than any of the ones we got last year. These 2 will make a fine addition to my collection, as General Grievous says. Honestly, I think a Ghost Spider/Spider Gwen Buildable figure would be a great idea for a set next year, especially IF BTSV comes out late next year. Kind of like an unofficial tie in.
Mandalorianknight Posted March 1, 2024 Posted March 1, 2024 Excellent figures- I'd actually be tempted to get them- but the price hike to almost $40? It was only a year or two ago a standard fig was $25. Goblin at least has the glider, but, c'mon, those spindly robot arms are not $13 of value

brickbride Posted March 1, 2024 Posted March 1, 2024 (edited) For those interested, German Youtuber Held der Steine has reviewed the X-Men jet. He calls it the worst set of the year and worse than the Hoopty. Apart from the price - obviously -, he particularly criticises the lackluster figures. I have to say that the printing on Rogue and Wolverine especially does look pretty bad in his video. Edited March 1, 2024 by brickbride

There is a clear difference between a rumour and baseless speculation Taking at closer look at the pictures, I have to say I quite like these sets, definitely more than some of the previous ones!
Lego Nostalgia Posted March 1, 2024 Posted March 1, 2024 Any chance of a NWH bridge battle next year ?

poisonbricks Posted March 1, 2024 Posted March 1, 2024 It's honestly getting to be a little hilarious how often LEGO is missing the mark with this stuff now. Usually with set types that I'm just not personally into, I'll go 'I'm sure kids love it!' but with these buildable figures, that's just not the case as far as I can tell. Whenever I go to a store with a LEGO section those are the sets sitting on shelves, untouched. My little siblings couldn't care less for them either, they much prefer minifigure based sets with things the characters can interact with. Even assuming there are kids who just love these, they're AWFUL value for the parents. At nearly 40 bucks each for these NWH ones, it'd take around 80 dollars to just have two characters to fight. Had they just made the same scene as a regular set, it would've likely been those two characters, plus Doc Ock, plus an environment for kids to play in. I cannot understand this buildable figure obsession.

It's a shame :-p 8 ore fa, PGBQW ha detto: Perché non si è mai detto Batman with pod will have a minifigure, so some have speculated the same for goblin with glider. But it was only a hope (you probably already knew that) 4 ore fa, Lego Nostalgia ha detto: C'è qualche possibilità di una battaglia sul ponte NWH l'anno prossimo? If lego doesn't lose the license the possibility is there :-P Seriously: we're talking about Spider Man, a film that made a lot of money, IN MY OPINION we'll see sets for a long time to come. And I still think that's one of the reasons why the minifigures in the Statue of Liberty were so poor, lego wants room for improvement for future product 4 ore fa, BrickBob Studpants ha detto: Mtdbricks sta prendendo in giro alcune notizie Marvel nella sua storia IG Incrociamo le dita per alcuni dettagli interessanti! All we had for Quantumania was a buildable Giant Man figure, still not a single minifigure from that film, which might've been the only opportunity to get Kang the Conqueror before he became Kang the Cancelled
squiz18 Posted March 1, 2024 Posted March 1, 2024 I think the figures look good, better than the captain america/wolverine ones. I've no interest in buying them though, and they are too expensive.
Matichado Posted March 1, 2024 Posted March 1, 2024 I know most of you are frustrated that we aren’t getting a new Raimi goblin but I’m super frustrated that we aren’t getting an MCU Iron Spider at least rummored off (maybe it appears in the avengers 60$ battle set or in a hypothetical NWH bridge battle) the mcu iron spider is imo the best Spider-Man suit ever I just love how it looks and how it mixes the tech and gold of iron man with the classic Spider-Man aesthetic plus the design is beautiful (kind of a hot take) it buddy frustrates me alot

I think no source has said what it’s based on I remember a few leak accounts responding to comments asking what movie that set was based on, saying it's Avengers 1, but it looks like a few posts detailing the Summer wave have been taken down, weirdly.
