Those mechs would be a great way to see more comic accurate versions of the characters. I absolutely would love to see new helmets for Thor and Cap. Thor especially since the Lego Avengers video game even featured a comic version of him as Ragnarok, the android Thor. That minifig, minus the robot face, is a perfect translation of his classic look. I imagine an Avengers Mansion is still years away since it would probably clash with the Avengers Tower and X-Mansion so that gives Lego a few years to build up a comic Avengers roster in other sets.

I completely agree with the mechs. To each their own but I am so annoyed with the War Machine mech because it’s a completely original Lego design. We have wayyyyy too much uncovered ground from comic content to start producing original content. I was really excited to potentially get a comic accurate classic War Machine. We have gotten some cool comic based designs from the mechs, namely Rocket Raccoon and Black Panther, but I would love to see other characters explored.

If the mansion is going to complete the original 90s animated team then I can't really see Storm and Rogue being excluded from that. The CMF series will be long discontinued by that point while the X-Jet would be almost a year old and potentially on its way to retirement. Why lock those characters behind products that may no longer be available during the X-Mansion's production run? Even if we got more sets with Storm and Rogue next year chances are they're going to be based on their new costumes instead of the 90s ones.

This does make a lot of sense. Completely respect the reasoning. I guess it just comes down to frustration knowing 10 figures is not enough to cover all the ground needed for the roster of characters we have missing. Jean Grey, Jubilee, Gambit, Charles Xavier, Bishop, and Morph would already makeup half the cast. Add Wolverine, Beast, Storm and Rogue to that and that’s all 10 figures, leaving no room for villains like Sabertooth, Mr Sinister, Mystique or Toad. I feel with Storm being in a CMF, she should be included since you’re not guaranteed to get her as the selection is random. I would be fine with Rogue being omitted given everyone has an equal shot of getting her if they buy the X-Jet. I’d rather the set be viewed as a way of rounding out the team rather than giving you the whole roster, feels impractical with 10 figures.

As a huge Jean Grey fan I just really hope we get her.

I didn't realize the mech Black Panther minifig came from the comics. Is it supposed to be his New Avengers/Illuminati outfit? That reminds me that the Green Goblin construction figure would have been a nice place to include an updated minifig of his Raimi suit. Although knowing Lego, it probably wouldn't include leg printing so the original minifig from the early 2000s would still probably be the better choice.

If Lego retained the CMF figures, Wolverine, Storm, and Beast, while dropping all the X-Jet exclusive figures, there would still be 7 slots left for the X-Mansion. Jean, Gambit, Jubilee, Xavier, Bishop, Morph, and Nightcrawler could all fit. Maybe Nightcrawler could be swapped out for Sinister if they want a villain, especially since Nightcrawler was only present in wave 2 merchandise for the series since that dealt with spoilers. But based on their prior track record, I find it hard to believe they'd refrain from reusing the X-Jet minifigs, even though your idea of the X-Jet being a companion set to round out the roster sounds better.

I personally think Jean is a guaranteed choice due to her extreme popularity and also the focus given to her in the show. It would be nice to get more SDCC figures in the actual sets, even if this isn't Phoenix Jean.

We'll never get that amount of detail outside of a CMF

Unfortunately true. I'd love to see a Marvel CMF series just based on the Fortnite designs. Like Silver Surfer, Cable, Patch Wolverine, Dark Phoenix, Mary Jane, X-23, etc.

For Rogue, I wish we could get a minifig that looks like her Lego Fortnite version.

This design is so strange to me, it's simultaneously kind of perfect and really strangely underdetailed.

Something like this, but... actually with muscle detailing would be great haha

Edit: I know this will most likely not happen, but I would LOVE to see a few random licenced characters appear in the LEGO Fortnite sets.

Like a particular mech from the Spider Man franchise that appeared in a really popular animated movie, and has a pilot that could be made reusing parts from Harry Potter

Early prediction for 2025s mechs; Spider Gwen, Hawkeye and Loki

Thank you for figuring out why it looks odd, I knew SOMETHING was wrong but couldn't tell what. Like you say, it needs the body/muscle detailing most superhero costumes have. Without it, it looks sort of like those hyper-detailed "classic" designs people make.

Though I'm gonna be honest I'm still not a big fan of the hair on that fig either way.

I think the issues with the figure go beyond the hair and lack of muscles. It’s overtly detailed in all the wrong places but lacking in details where it really needs them. Her boots and arms are over designed. Her coat and torso are under. The belt stretches down to her hips instead of fitting snuggly on her waist. I could go on.

The Rogue we got with the Blackbird is far from perfect, but I very much prefer it to the Fortnite design.

Her Fortnite hair is too long and straight, it looks like she got caught by the rain

I feel like next year they will do another Spider Man mech (since we haven't gotten one in a while) and Groot.

For the third one next year, I feel like it would be Superman for DC

For Deadpool fans, this may be some revealing news.

The showrunner for X-Men '97 confirmed that Deadpool was off-limits for the show. So I think this pretty much confirms what most of us already knew that he won't be showing up in the X-Mansion set.

By the finale, Nightcrawler will have been in just as many episodes as Gambit was, maybe there's hope that he'll be the 10th minifigure

 Not true.

Nightcrawler has been in 5, 7, 8, 9, and will presumably appear in 10. Gambit appeared in all of the first 6, granted that last one was just a cameo of his skeleton in Xavier’s mind, but it still counts.

I do agree that Nightcrawler is the character outside of the main 10 (Prof X, Cyclops, Wolverine, Jean Gray, Beast, Storm, Gambit, Rogue, Jubilee, and Magneto) that seems the most likely to appear, if we’re just going off of his impact in the show and popularity in general.

Regardless, I’m very disappointed with just how little set coverage we’re getting for this show. We should have gotten at least one more set over the summer because there’s just so many characters to cover (only counting the X-Men even) and two sets just isn’t gonna cut it.

I've been away so I missed all the reactions to the new Avengers wave, but I'm honestly shocked there's no discourse around Surtur's build, since for me and I think many others it was the most anticipated new set.

His head is the Kro head from the Eternals sets, and his crown is attached by a bunch of connected pieces up his back and around the top of his head. It's hidden semi well in most of the pictures- have people not noticed or does it not bother anyone as much as me? Lol

I honestly would've done really anything else build-wise... using the shoulder pieces from the buildable figures, like Molten Man, would've been better IMO.

Having collected this theme for years now, most of the new sets are passes for me due to price, but I'm very happy for fans of the theme being able to get full lineups of AoU and Avengers figs. My wallet is happy too. The weird Iron Legion helmets make that set probably a pass as well, but maybe the old figs will drop in price now.

That Cap 4 set isn't getting cancelled right? I'm worried bc something similar happened with the Flash movie set.

McDonalds also released Cap 4 toys in happy meals right now, so I wonder if we will see that set this year after all

The flash set wasn't really cancelled, just retooled into a batman 1989 set ( and that was likely because of the Ezra Miller controversy)

That makes sense. I can't imagine the flash set would've been much different, if at all, compared to the 89 set we got.

I hope we get the set in December of this year atleast

Sigh. If only we could get more than 10 figs. Or a decent follow up wave to supplement the characters omitted from this set.

Agreed. If we got a larger X-Men wave alongside the Mansion then LEGO could pack it with more obscure/harder to sell characters (Forge, Bishop, Sunspot, Psylocke, etc), and we could pick up the more well-known characters (Storm, Jean, Rogue, Gambit, Morph, etc) in the smaller sets.

This is based on Rogue’s Fortnite design (rather than comics/animation), which is why the detailing is odd.

Either him or Morph, IMO. I am personally leaning more towards Morph, since they can be made without any new moulds (Kurt needs a new dual-moulded hairpiece with ears, along with a new tail with the arrowhead tip). Morph just needs two new prints (head and torso) and maybe some dual-moulded legs (I can see LEGO going the printing route like they did with Rogue and Wolverine, or just cheaping out like they did with Cyclops), the latter of which can be reused on Cyclops (which makes a new element more likely - See the new tactical legs in Avengers Tower).

When does the January 2025 Set info start to leak ? I know it's early yet but would it be October ?

The tail piece already exists, though only in red and hasn't been used since 2016 (https://www.bricklink.com/v2/catalog/catalogitem.page?P=26077&name=Minifigure Costume Tail Imp / Devil&category=[Minifigure, Body Wear]#T=C&C=5)

And for the hair/ears it's likely they'd use the same piece used for Namor, but again another piece introduced in 2016 that should be brought back (https://www.bricklink.com/v2/catalog/catalogitem.page?P=19203pb01&name=Mini Doll, Hair Short Spiked with Light Nougat Elf Ears Pattern&category=[Mini Doll, Hair]#T=C)

Could get anything as early as next month, though at first it might just be set numbers and prices, then followed by loose placeholder names

I agree that these would work, but since they have been out of production for around eight years, reintroducing them would count them as “new”. IMO, our best chance for Nightcrawler is in a future Marvel CMF.

The other thing to keep in mind about Nightcrawler isn't just the molds for the tail and ears but also that he has very specific banding around his boots and legs. For the boots especially, he'll need leg printing and dual-molded legs. I doubt we'd get that for him in the X-Mansion, so our best bet for him would be to wait for the next Marvel CMF line and hope he's given one of the X-Men slots.

Similarly, a character like Forge has his metal leg and boots. Psylocke has all the ribbons around her arms and legs. Even someone like Elektra would be better off in a new D2C set, like the Oscorp Tower, where they could accurately portray all those details on the legs rather than in a standard set.

Realistically, Professor X is the only character that does not need CMF-level detailing! I can see Forge's leg being printed, and his boots being skipped; for Psylocke, they can get away with just printing her legs (since the amount of visible skin is fairly limited) and giving her plain arms with black/dark blue hands (as they did with '97 Magneto).

Jean is another character you could probably get away with without a whole lot of leg printing. In the Marvel Super Heroes video game, she just had a bit of arm printing and leg printing on the side but I'd imagine we wouldn't get even that in the mansion set.

Forge without his boots would frankly annoy me but after what they did with Cyclops' legs, it wouldn't surprise me either.

You're right about Psylocke. If you look at her minifigure from Marvel Super Heroes, it's exactly as you described. Plain arms with blue hands and then printing on her legs. In comparison, the Elektra minifigure did get arm printing.

When are we supposed to get images of The miniscale Helicarrier and 4+ Iron-Man/Hulk motorcycle thing?

I figured they would've been revealed with the other sets when they got revealed
