CF Mitch Posted November 1, 2024 Posted November 1, 2024 The Hall of Armor looks like an easy pass. If that's really the MkVI armor, great, but I'll get it with the Marvel Logo (I think). Now that there are better pictures out of the Cap 4 set... great figs, as expected, but that's about it. Will probably also pass. Is the Captain America coming in the Marvel Logo still expected/rumored to be a WWII version? Regards, Mitch
Lego Nostalgia Posted November 1, 2024 Posted November 1, 2024 It seems that he has deleted the post on Insta, maybe Lego threatened him lol Exabricks on Insta said today there will be lots of reveals, but there is nothing, hmmmm

It's quite revolting how Disney and LEGO are seemingly trying to hide the skin colour of Wilson's Captain America. It really is diametrically opposed to the nature and values of Captain America.

It's because they want the film to be able to be shown / popular in China, as the Chinese Govt. apparently have a problem with African American leads in films. As another example, The Force Awakens poster had Finn airbrushed out in China too. It is indeed disgusting what's going on there with the erasure, but we are going very far off topic... LemonFlavouredBleach Posted November 1, 2024 Posted November 1, 2024 Very interesting that both the set and the construction figure have Sam completely masked up 🤔

Swordy Posted November 1, 2024 Posted November 1, 2024 As for the perceived controversy with LEGO covering Sam’s face… I’ll also point out that this film will feature a conflict between America and Japan, as seen in the trailers. Yes, this film is 100% being tailored to the China government’s likening. All of that said, would you rather the buildable figure have an uncanny-valley-looking face, or a helmeted look which LEGO has executed well the past? Also, have to point out that Red Hulk is missing Harrison’s signature mole/dimple/whatever on the side of his chin. (Yes, I went through and compared LEGO Old Man Han to Red Hulk.)
Scarilian Posted November 1, 2024 Posted November 1, 2024 Yeah, did not mean to drag things off-topic, just weird that we're not getting an Anthony Mackie head included. The potential for box variation is there but they might not do that, was just speculating. They've recently announced three live-action Lego movies in the works, while we probably won't see them for quite a while and they are being made for Universal, wondering if we'll see any potential crossover with Superhero themes in them. 15 minutes ago, Lego Nostalgia said: Personally Sam Wilson in the Stealth Suit would have been better, not a fan of this helmet power ranger vultron look I'm guessing it's based partial on a big action sequence involving the two flying around Tiamut's hand in the ocean. 7 minutes ago, Swordy said: As for the perceived controversy with LEGO covering Sam’s face… I’ll also point out that this film will feature a conflict between America and Japan, as seen in the trailers. I'm fine conceptually with the buildable figure and the Lego set using the masked version of the face/helmet though I don't feel it looks good in the constraction figure form and the minifigure version looks a bit messy. As for the main set this is the only set with figures we are getting for this film. We probably won't get Anthony Mackie's Captain America again until Avengers Doomsday in 2026 and we can't rely on that as they will presumably have a lot of characters that will needed to be represented in sets.
Agent Kallus Posted November 1, 2024 Posted November 1, 2024 12 hours ago, poisonbricks said: The build is just confusing to me. As far as I can tell it's a more sci-fi-ified(?) version of the fighter jets from the dogfight in the trailers. And I get LEGO won't do military stuff, I really do, but surely there's something else in the whole film that would've worked as a set. Or just, y'know, make it a cool build, even if it's not gonna be accurate. I mean a Tiamut hand hand coming out the ocean set in the style of the incredible Ninjago dragonstone shrine set would have been beautiful. But TBH I don't mind this film having a lame set as I have very little interest in it. It's an easy skip cinema wise I mean it's controversial for all the wrong reasons ( Hiding the leads face because of his race, Associations with the military industrial complex, uncomfortable connections to current day real life conflicts and massacres, betraying thier moral standards to cater to foreign markets, I could go on.). I mean if I was a big Captain America or Falcon fan I could probably try and look past that but this movie sounded relatively boring to me before it even started sounding shady.

I'm fine with the buildable figure, but the fact that the minifigures is also completely covered without an optional faceprint is... concerning. And sure, Mackie's face is on the box art, and most of the other toys feature his face, but I still really hate the fact that covering his face is an option. This should not be a thing with Sam's first solo movie.
psqidexslizer Posted November 1, 2024 Posted November 1, 2024 I started building the X-Mansion. I swear that rumor about a $60 Sentinel with 4 minifigures better not be true (and probably isn’t). There’s no way this is a $60 build. Unless the set comes with two of them.
wesker Posted November 1, 2024 Posted November 1, 2024 Both sets are an easy pass for me. The new Red Hulk figure looks good but that's about all the set has going for it. The rest of the characters look pretty boring and the set itself is just another throwaway build for a film that's going to be forgotten about in a few months time. The Hall of Armor looks far too small for the price range and aside from Iron Patriot the minifigures aren't really all that exciting.
Battlinpanther Posted November 1, 2024 Posted November 1, 2024 Thing is, even if this is to appease China, other merchandise for the film has no problem at least including the alternate unmasked face as well. So Lego not doing one at all is weird.
Mandalorianknight Posted November 2, 2024 Posted November 2, 2024 I don't understand the Igor figure. It has the same fundamentally goofy head/torso design, which was my main issue with the first one, and now they'd removed my boy's elbows. How much is this set supposed to be, again? 3 hours ago, RobbieHxC said: It's quite revolting how Disney and LEGO are seemingly trying to hide the skin colour of Wilson's Captain America. It really is diametrically opposed to the nature and values of Captain America. Disney does this every time they want a movie to do well in China. Never forget this is a company who just a few years ago thanked a province with active concentration camps in it. Their holier-than-though stuff in their movies is darkly hilarious as they're in bed with one of the worst major regimes currently on the planet. Also, just to the movie as a whole, the "USA and Japan go to war" thing is kinda funny to me given we're pretty solid allies. Like a half decade ago the US President and Japanese prime minister were straight up just friends. It feels like they're trying to do "dark political thriller", but whoever wrote it didn't want to be "controversial" by making it a country the US actually has tension with like Russia (Which I also don't get, during the cold war every other film was "C'mon Rocky pound Drago's face in!", but that's a tangent on a tangent", and of course couldn't make it China because they want the market, so they just spun the globe. I want to see the alternate universe where there was a slight wind and we got to see Sam Wilson Captain America going to war with Britain. 1 hour ago, THELEGOBATMAN said: I still really hate the fact that covering his face is an option. I agree they're covering it to appease china and that's gross, but "I hate that fact that covering his face is an option" might be overdoing it a bit. Plenty of marvel heroes have fully-enclosed helmets, like Iron Man and Black Panther. Having the option for him to have a fully-enclosed helmet isn't nefarious by any means. It's moreso the suspicion that this will be accompanied by the marketing in China conveniently making him the only helmeted character to not be unmasked on the posters.
Coryo Posted November 2, 2024 Posted November 2, 2024 Using the Age of Ultron suit instead of the Mark 42 for an Iron Man 3-inspired set is a super disappointing choice. It seems like a lot of text-based set leaks recently have had details that get lost in translation or end up being slightly wrong, which does make me lean more towards thinking the Fantastic Four set will turn out to be based on the movie.
eldiano Posted November 2, 2024 Posted November 2, 2024 With leaks, stuff changes, I wouldn't worry about what final figures make it to the set or not, considering leakers have been wrong about recent sets either way, like Coryo mentions, a lot of wording gets lost in translation. Take the Endurance ship, we thought it would have been a full-sized ship, instead we get a mini scaled ship and no minifigures, all I'm saying is don't give your hopes up.

This should not be a thing with Sam's first solo movie. Ah. I thought the buildable figure was a bigger point of discussion than it actually was. My bad. The helmet’s for supersonic travel, which I assume is being used in this mission. We can’t have Cap getting bugs in his teeth, lol. (I don’t know if this is necessarily the oversea dogfight from the trailer; I see a skyline underneath them.) I see what y’all are saying about the covering of his face being nefarious, though. Past Sam Wilson Captain America figures have shown the face. Maybe someone in corporate management wants to make sure that the kids who don’t know Sam will just pretend it’s Steve Rogers, which is pretty horrible, in my opinion. I could rant, but I’d go way off topic if I do. Maybe I will sometime in the Asylum. I’ll keep hope that Sam’s head and hair are included, just not advertised. (I also need Joaquin Torres’s head and hair, while we’re talking about it.) I think LEGO can and will try to get away with not including it, though. 4 hours ago, Mandalorianknight said: Also, just to the movie as a whole, the "USA and Japan go to war" thing is kinda funny to me given we're pretty solid allies. Wasn’t it heavily implied that the Winter Solider was partially an agent for the Soviets as well as Hydra, or that Hydra was dissolved into Soviet Russia? I thought that was what the red star on Bucky’s arm meant. I’d actually pay millions to see that in a Marvel movie. @CloneCommando99, prepare to see Buckingham and all of London burn! 🔥 Justice for 1814!
benderisgreat Posted November 2, 2024 Posted November 2, 2024 Do we have any info about how popular buildable figures are? I constantly see them warming shelves in stores and many others have reported same thing. If they are not selling why is Lego still making them instead of more minifig based sets?
Lego Nostalgia Posted November 2, 2024 Posted November 2, 2024 Is that the MK 43 or 45 ? I can't tell, if it's MK 45 then it's new NVM it's the MK 43, I was stupid to think we'd get a different suit, sigh, bare minimum with Marvel, Harry Potter get's all the love and they haven't had a movie since 2011

BrickBob Studpants Posted November 2, 2024 Posted November 2, 2024 Personally, I really dig that IM3 set! Aldritch having young Han‘s face rather than a unique one is a downside, but the torso print is cool! Much better than the 2013 minifig ^^ Igor is an improvement too
Legocentrico Posted November 2, 2024 Posted November 2, 2024 (edited) Exactly. And it is clear that whoever gave the first information has not seen this image, which could even be older than the leak. It is fun to analyze the various possibilities but it is really too early to get angry or worried. Personally I am still convinced that we will have our mark 42, I am happy for the new Patriot (which will get all the details) and very excited for a Killian finally based on the final battle (at some point I hoped that Pepper would be too, who knows, maybe sooner or later ...) What I really do not understand is the discussion about Sam's helmet ... it is a necessary upgrade if you have to fly at high altitude, it makes the new costume more "superheroic", it is normal to update a character that has a similar look for so many years, when he receives his own movie, and for the minifigure it is a nice variation ...
