TandN says Red Hulk is delayed :-(((

Ok, it was predictable, but hearing it is painful

Predictable, as you say, because why would they release a movie tie-in set 10 months ahead the movie when they can easily delay it? I‘m expecting a January ‘25 release for it.

You know what‘s really painful tho? If pictures of the set leak :laugh_hard:

Un set di Malibu Mansion potrebbe includere MK1-7

All 7 in one set seems unrealistic to me. It would be nice, but lego likes to divide collections into multiple sets (for obvious reasons).

Also, as someone already said, Avengers Battle is more likely to contain Mark7 :-/

Mark6 could accompany a Helicarrier, an Iron Man 2 final battle or a new generic Hall of Armor/Malibu mansion…

(Maybe a $500 Malibu set could contain all 7, like the Tower contains all the original Avengers for the first time)

Black Widow is a precedent, but I am aware that the situation was very different from that of Cap4. In truth I would like to see the images, to start fantasizing :-D

of course I would like some guarantee that the set will actually arrive (Nowadays, between sets canceled for more or less unknown reasons, I'm always a little worried :-P)

If I am not mistaken, here are the armor versions that Lego has made so far:

1, 2, 3, 5, 6, 7, 17, 22, 25, 30, 33, 37, 39, 41, 42, 43, 45, 46, 47, 50, 51, 64, 85

Yeah, thats probably all of them, but the alterations to the helmet piece mean they'll probably aim to (or just generally due to legacy sets they are producing) will result in re-release suits they've already done in order to make the collection feel uniform.

As such I'm expecting them to revisit suits that have not been updated. This would primarily be the suits with the most exposure first which would be the movie suits. They may not focus on updating the other suits, as they may feel releasing new suits will appeal more to collectors than re-doing old versions of the suits that got a low amount of screentime.

Oh yeah, would indeed make more sense for the MK7 to be in the 'Avengers Battle' set, we do have the 'Mid-scale Helicarrier' coming up... maybe we'll be lucky and the MK6 will be with that.

Falcon said the Helicarrier doesn’t come with any figures.

TandN says that the Batpod set that comes with a Batman buildable figure is "like the Green Goblin with glider set that's coming", so I guess that puts to rest questions of if the glider was included

Posted

And the Batpod is that and not the ~1800 pc D2C, which given the now rapid decay of the lego DC theme would imply marvel is getting that D2C this year. Since we're getting the mansion, I am inclined to think this'll be another buildable object- I'm going with either a large-scale iron man helmet or the Hulk Hands.

Imagine if the 200€ 18+ Marvel D2C is Hulk's hands. :jollyroger:

I'd die out of laughter.

Glad we've got further confirmation of the Glider being included, interested how they'd handle that for the pricing. Hope it looks good.

I think they are trying to respark the DC theme this year in preperation for revitalising the series alongside the Superman Legacy release in 2025.

"I thought that it could come out at the end of the year in 2024 possibly, but that would be tight. There's some other group of people that are masterminding when things [release] and they're moving things on the board, and I don't know where we [What If...?] exist on that at this moment "

Sounds like it probably won't release in 2024. 2025 is already packed enough as it is that I doubt Lego will be able to stretch themselves to do What If S3 tie-in sets - CMF S3 in 2025 is probably all we'd get.

We have Mid-scale Helicarrier, how about a slightly larger scale Helicarrier then in 2025 an even bigger one :p

I legitimately think this is a possibility- they've done the iconic part of the other big three (Hammer, Shield, gauntlet/helmet), the hulk hands are an iconic toy, and we know how lego is evidently fine releasing disembodied limbs as sets.

I'm not saying it'd be a remotely good set, though...

There is one (1) system, non gimmick DC set this year. It is an even more expensive batmobile, compared to last year, which had two (2) system sets: a batmobile that was more expensive than normal- though not as expensive as this one, $60 is absurd-, and a batwing. Both years also had one each of a D2C, a juniors set, and a buildible figure, though this year is also getting us a mech gimmick.

I unfortunately don't think this is a respark for DC, I think it's the next step into the coffin.

A helicarrier similar to 76042 but with playable areas has always been my dream! Maybe with the landing strip lifting up and revealing the minifigure-sized interior with iconic environments from the film, that would be great. Obviously supplied with a generous selection of minfigures

Trying to revamp but just making things worse is kinda DC’s thing.

The odd thing about the $200 D2C is the set number. 76328. There’s a 20+ set number gap between it and every other set we have coming out this year, which seems to imply it was developed later and really sped through production. That makes me think It’s related to an upcoming Marvel movie and when they got delayed Lego saw the opportunity to make a set based on it when they originally wouldn’t have and rushed it through. Deadpool seems the obvious candidate, but also it’s rated R so it doesn’t make much sense. So maybe some sort of X-Men display piece to coincide with the release? But that would cannibalize the Mansion. So IDK, Wolverine bust?

I wouldn't mind another couple of mechs. It would be more than we got for what if season 2. At least the season 1 mechs brought some interesting figures. We wouldn't have got the Watcher fig anywhere else.

For a big X-Men display, a larger Sentinel feels the obvious call to me. X-Men fans would want both it and the Mansion, too.

And a sidebuild in a $40 now going for $200 would track with Lego’s price increases. 😁

Seriously though, a big sentinel display would be fantastic.

Money is a very personal thing… For me it's a nice set, but I would have bought it anyway… if 60 is ok for you, then 60 is a good price…

Makes sense. What’ll be interesting is if it winds up released in its current iteration at all or if the heavy reshoots necessitate changes.

Some thoughts:

First of all, I don't have any idea what the D2C is going to be. My first instinct was to assume it's a Bat-vehicle, but given that we already have the D2C from that theme and it seems like Marvel is more likely to be the one that gets two. I highly doubt it's a building, given that at that piece count, it would either have to be open-backed or rather small, plus we're already getting the X-mansion, and we'll have what, four giant buildings available as of next year, until the Bugle's inevitable retirement. I'd bet against a vehicle as well, given the Milano, and it seems like the only major alternative option is a UCS style quinjet, but we already have a high quality quinjet going right now. Maybe the Sanctuary 2 or a Chitauri Leviathian? Neither seem like they would have a big audience either. Frankly, of the ideas pitched, I'd be most inclined to say a giant sentinel, but even that feels unlikely as that probably does not really even need to be that big, and the idea of two X-Men D2Cs happening in the same year seems highly unlikely. My money is on something like a buildable object or wild card like the Black Panther bust--Iron Man bust, anyone? I really cannot think of many buildable objects left that make much sense--most of them could be done as helmets, or are probably a bit too niche or weird, like a Dr. Strange cape and Eye. Hawkeye's bow is probably the most iconic weapon left of the original Avengers, but that doesn't make much sense to me given that it's a (somewhat) realistic weapon, and isn't nearly as iconic on its own the way that Mjolnir and the shield are.

Second of all, the Milano--it is, as of now, the set for which I am most excited this year. The Benatar is possibly the best non-D2C Marvel set they've made, and given that this is 200 pieces larger, I'm expecting it to be at least on par with that set, and hopefully with a slightly expanded interior. I think a stand is pretty much guaranteed with this as well. I have been debating on the 1500 piece one for a while, as it is a fantastic build, but since this has around 500 more pieces, I will be waiting for this to come out first. Definitely expecting it to blow the previous builds out of the water too, as we have really never had a great version of the Milano before. Minifigure-wise, I've been thinking about if the Warbird may have had any impact on the set figure selection, but I kind of doubt that it will--my guess that it is designed as a companion and a cheap way to get Ronan after the set comes out. It seems unlikely that they throw Ronan into the build, although it is certainly not impossible. I also kind of anticipate a new version of Rocket's 2014 suit as well, seeing as it has been quite a while since they have done that. Realistically, I think we can expect a helmet-less, reused Star Lord, a new Gamora, a new torso for Drax, a new torso for Rocket, and Groot in some capacity--I have seen some suggestion that he could use the tall legs, but it's also possible they leave him out and just throw in a potted plant. The ultimate-but-still-fairly-realistic figure selection is of course new versions of the main Guardians, or at least a rerelease of Star Lord's helmet and new versions of the other four, plus some combination of Yondu, Kraglin, Ronan, Nebula, or some Nova Corps executive, assuming they don't sneakily cover bits of Vol. 2. The terrible option is reused figures and an incomplete Guardians roster, but I hope we don't see that, and kind of doubt we will.

Also, it had better have the orb and stereo, but other than that, the interior probably does not need much other than some chairs and wall detailing.

I expect Rocket and Ronan to both be reused in the Milano, and for the Guardians to have their dark red Ravager suits (probably with the same legs for Quill, Gamora, and Drax).

I'd be more surprised if it did include the first 5 guardians. None of the other ships have done this before.

I was chatting to TandN about how I wish the fig lists would drop so I know which rarer older characters I should bother tracking down, they seemed to imply no Yondu in the Milano.

Fourstud did a great little Groot build for GotG1 a while back over on Instagram, I'd like to see LEGO try something like that instead of another slightly off Groot minifigure...

I wonder if we could see Star-Lord's helmet just printed on as an alternate face, like the Mighty Micros figure did. It'd be worse than the helmet mold, but probably good enough to get the point across. Then just that printed head could be reused like Iron Man's HUD face is.

I would love to see a new exclusive character, even if I somwhat doubt it. Ego, Kraglin, Corpsman Dey and Korath are all good picks if they do.

While it could technically be a Vol 2 set, the ship is way more prominent in the first movie, so I’d expect only characters from that one to show up. While Korath or Kraglin would be fantastic, I’m not getting my hopes up for anyone new :shrug_oh_well: And that goes for the entire wave. Upgraded (or downgraded) versions of previous minifigs is all we’re getting this summer it seems

Yeah, you're probably right - as much as the collector in me wishes they keep pumping out new figures entirely, when I think about it I really don't mind a lot of repeats - giving new builders the chance to get (I'm assuming) all of the core Avengers and Guardians in just 2024 sets is awesome.
