They only reason they got away with that is because the show's rating was announced so late. I'm 99% sure the figure wouldn't have been made had the MA-rating already be known at that point

There's always a possibility we'd get Daredevil,Kingpin and Punisher from DDBA, it's on Disney Plus and not a movie, yes it's Rated-TV-MA but Echo was too so they might as well, I'd say they'd be able to get away with it since they got away with Echo, Moonknight wasn't TV-MA as far as I know but it wasn't far off it

I find legos rules about age ratings very strange when these are also comic book characters so they should be able to easily make a daredevil born again set with dd, kingpin, bullseye and punisher give it just a marvel logo and not a dd:ba one

Sure they might as well go through with it since they did a slip up, what's done has already been done

Even the comic book Daredevil, Punisher, and Blade minifigs included in the Daily Bugle were only allowed in that set because Lego couldn't get away with including them in smaller sets due to their mature ratings.

So even with a Marvel logo instead of a Daredevil Born Again logo, Lego won't feel comfortable releasing those characters in a set of their own. They could get away with it in the Daily Bugle because it's mostly Spider-Man themed and nobody would feel it's too adult.

What if they just included Daredevil from She-Hulk and Kingpin from Hawkeye? I’m not sure that would work, but I wouldn’t mind it as a way to get them.

They didn't "get away" with echo. The figure was developed before the rating changed. I guarantee you if lego was trying to get away with an R-rated fig, it wouldn't be Echo of all people. (Plus if they really wanted to do the character they could just do her outfit from Hawkeye)

Moon Knight was somewhat mature for a TV-14, but TV-14 isn't MA, and it's been pretty clear they draw the line at the American R and MA ratings.

My choices for a potential third cmf would be:

  1. God Loki with miss minutes
  2. Mobius with the TVA handbook and pie
  3. Kahhori
  4. Someone from What If S2/3 (maybe Strange Supreme or a Zombie to tie in with Marvel Zombies
  5. Spiderman (YFNSM)
  6. Daredevil or Doctor Strange from YFNSM
  7. Wiccan
  8. Iron Heart
  9. The Hood
  10. Nightcrawler
  11. Jubilee
  12. Another X-Men character such as Sunspot, Cable or Sinister

Love it, here's mine- admittedly a LOT more on the wishlistly side as I'm not super up to date with this stuff, so it's mainly characters and shows I liked or like the designs from.

1. Loki, God of stories. Comes with a new cloth element, new hair/horn mold, and some transparent green parts representing strands of time.

2. Mobius. (with a Jet Ski advert)

3. Infinity Ultron (with lance)

4. Spider-Man (Friendly Neighborhood, homemade suit if that's still happening)

5. Daredevil (X men '97) with escrima sticks. This isn't very likely but the closest we can get to Netflix Matt.

6. Jubilee (with firework pieces)

7. Oroborus with a small buildable model of the TVA machine

8. Nightcrawler (cutlass)

9. Sam Wilson Cap (the minifigure is actually the mech, with a Sam Cap head underneath)

10. Scarlet Scarab (falcon wing piece)

11. Khonshu (staff)

12. Jake Lockley (gun)

I don't really follow this logic. They have the rule for a reason, I can't imagine they were pleased that the rating changed after they'd already developed the figure. I also don't think most companies are in the practices of throwing out rules because they accidentally broke them.

The obvious takeaway lesson from the Echo minifig is not that they can break their own rules with impunity now, but rather that they‘ll be more careful in the future :snicker: It‘s their own rules. Following them is in their best interest (which is upholding their family-friendly reputation). They‘re not doing it to appease law enforcement, a different company, or some other institution.

With the Thing following a very classic design I’m not sure I love the idea of the Thing being a standard minifigure. He’s not as large as the hulk so perhaps a bigfig is excessive. Hopefully they at least bulk him out a bit. Perhaps a Korg style headpiece.

He looks about as tall as Korg (maybe a bit bulkier). Hopefully some orange head cap and/or white shoulder pads emphasizes his size compared to the other minifigures.

Hulk and Things size difference? That seems to differ thru comic history "Different artists". So, a big fig Thing, would not be 100% out of place either. When compared to Hulks size.

While the Thing may not be as big as the Hulk from what we've seen so far, I definitely thing a regular minifigure would be too small. He definitely needs a bit of bulk to him.

This may have been discussed before but what are people's thoughts on that kind of half-way big fig, like Axl from Nexo Knights (?) and the TMNT bad guys?

Agreed.  I definitely want the Thing to be a big-fig and the design looked great in the LEGO Marvel Super Heroes Videgame!

I really dislike the Axl and TMNT mutant molds as their torso is increased but the legs are the same, making the torso width about triple the size of their legs, resulting in the proportions looking wrong:/

That would work for me, kinda like the Mr Incredible figure in the video game. Although I definitely wouldn't mind a simple bigfig either, just anything but how they did Korg, he really doesn't work for me.

I’m firmly in Team Bigfig. He might not be Hulk-sized in the movie, but a minifig would look too puny. It‘s not like TLG is overly accurate when it comes to scaling anyway :snicker: Plus a bigfig would make for a better toy.

I'll join Team Bigfig... Though long-term, I would like to see a video game Mr. Incredible-like torso made. There's a bunch of characters it could be used for, and it would probably make both camps happy.

They do look a bit ridiculous tbf. I'm happy with a big fig though. But goofy though it may be, I still hope it's one of these two because...

I agree with this. Korg looks awful imo. Too short and weird looking.

I would prefer a big-fig, but I'm expecting Thing to get the Korg treatment. From what I've seen, he doesn't seem to be hulk sized. If Lego thinks Korg and GOTG 3 adult groot are still minifig sized, then I'm pretty sure they'll find making the Thing a minifig perfectly fine. Hopefully they give him some shoulder armor or something to bulk him up a bit more, but I can't say I'm expecting much.

I'm sorry but it has to be a Big Fig, he's not as big as hulk but he's not far from it, he's also bigger than Tom Hardy's Venom.

Might be our only chance to get a Thing big fig and it won't look good as a normal minifigure

I agree. He's not as big as the Hulk but he's only a bit smaller in size. Iron Man isn't as tall as Captain America but that doesn't mean he needs to have short legs. The Thing will look really off if he's a regular-sized minifig, especially when you put him next to the Hulk and kids are definitely going to be fighting with both of them.

I'm pretty sure Korg got the Korg treatment because he was a minor character in a small set and lego just didn't want to throw that big of a budget at it (and let him fit in the boat/play fortnite on thor's couch)

Definitely true on the point of him needing to fit on Thor's couch. However, that makes me think that if they make a set of the fantasticar, they could make Thing a mnifig so he can fit inside. Honestly, I just don't want to get too excited and then disappointed.

Bigfigs are at least twice the height and width of regular minifigs, and looking at the set video from FF, I don't think the Thing would end up being big enough to warrant that.

One other option would be a specially moulded headpiece that covers the chest and shoulders, similar to Ned-B or the Wookiees

Team Bigfig for the Thing!  I think it makes the Fantastic Four a more dynamic group design wise, children want to have The Thing fight the Hulk, and overall another bigfig would make the upcoming sets feel better value for money.  I don't think the scaling is an issue here when compared to the Hulk, as if you compare the Hulk against any of the million Hulkbusters we have there is a far worse scaling issue.  Also compare Iron Man versus Iron Monger for another more serious scaling issue.
