I'll take venomized X over buildable figures or mechs any day.

Mechs (and microfighters) can be a good way to get individual minifigures, though. If you already have the figure, then sure, you can pass on it, but I think they have a lot of good in the overall market.

Just a random thought, not an actual prediction, but I noticed how I don't think there's ever been a third series of a licenced CMF without it being somehow renamed?

Disney had CMF1, CMF2, and then a third... but as Disney 100

Besides that, I'm not sure if any licenced CMF has actually continued past two series (correct me if I'm wrong)

That being said, and making the wild assumption that this is an actual pattern that'll repeat, since we've already had two 'Marvel Studios' CMFs, I think next year could be a great opportunity for a 'Marvel Animation' one

Releasing not too far apart from each other is X-Men '97 Season 2, Your Friendly Neighbourhood Spider-Man, Eyes of Wakanda, and What If..? Season 3 - which could honestly make a VERY appealing lineup. Between those shows there's Spidey, more X-Men, Daredevil, Strange, Black Panther, an Iron Fist...

I like this idea. Besides, I don’t think there’s much in the way of live action shows to be covered (unless they go back and give us characters from previous series they skipped) seeing as Daredevil is gonna be Rated R and Agatha was already in series 2.

I could see the lineup being something like:

4 X-Men characters (Cable, Jubilee, Nightcrawler, Goblin Queen)

3 Spider-Man character

2 Eyes of Wakanda characters

3 What If characters

I have mixed feelings here. There are still some characters from the live-action shows I‘d like to see in minifig form, but they‘re all from Loki :snicker: The other shows were either already well-covered, have their characters lined up for other projects (like US Agent), or have characters that don‘t look unique enough for a CMF series.

While a series solely consisting of characters from the animated shows could work, I still think that Mobius, OB, and B-15 deserve some CMF slots

3 What If characters

My personal picks would probably be:

1. Jubilee (probably needs a new hair/glasses combo as well as dual molding across the board, one of the few main members LEGO skipped so far.)

2. Nightcrawler (needs new hair/ears combo, new tail, dual molding across the board, fan favourite and also a skipped main member)

3. Morph (another skipped main member, could use dual molded legs seeing as Mansion Cyclops doesn't seem to have them - swappable heads would be a good inclusion, maybe include one of the transformation cameo characters in that way)

4. Apocalypse, Sinister or Bastion (could go either way, Bastion was the main S1 villain, Sinister is the most visually interesting, and Apocalypse will be in S2)

5. Spider-Man homemade suit (the one shown back when it was titled 'Freshman Year' - really interesting look)

6. Dr Strange (very classic design, would be appreciated by comic minifigure collectors)

7. Daredevil (as a means to capitalize on DD:BA without the TV-MA rating)

8. Black Panther (whichever version is coolest in the show)

9. Iron Fist (whichever version appears in the show)

10. Kahhori (interesting original character that was skipped over)

11+12 whoever else appears in S3 of What If

Wanda's kids are rumored to appear in Agatha's show.

Alternate heads for Morph is a great idea. I'd like to see Apocalypse saved for a future set. I think he'll benefit far more from being released as a big fig instead of a standard minifigure. Between the other two choices I'd rather get Sinister first before Bastion.

Jean looks good for the most part. I'm not bothered by the lack of leg printing as she doesn't really need it. The color of the hair piece is an interesting choice as I don't think we've ever had one in reddish orange before. My only concern is the printing quality on the dark blue head. Lego hasn't had a good track record with the Captain America figures and I hope they've improved the opacity here.

So glad they used an appropriate hair piece instead of the default Marvel female style ( https://www.bricklink.com/v2/catalog/catalogitem.page?P=85974&idColor=5#T=C&C=5). Picture is obviously low quality, but the minifigure looks solid. My own gripe is, why does it look like she’s wearing gray gloves? Hopefully that’s just a picture quality issue.

Also, I find it very fitting that Jean is the first minifigure to leak, given who first leaked the news about the X-Mansion. 😁

Guess I was right. There’s not much that remains to be covered in the upcoming shows. 😝

I just want Aubrey Plaza to get a LEGO figure :shrug_oh_well:

If CMF 3 is our only way of getting one of her than I'm down haha.

Leg printing would have been nice but wasn't a must for her.

She is one of the few characters who can actually get away without having it.

They look dark blue to me; arm printing with light nougat hands would look better, but is also too much to ask for non-CMF Marvel ‘figs!

Overall, I like her, and the (recoloured) hair is actually a good choice! I personally thought of using the standard ponytail piece (as Jean’s hair does not extend down over her ears/around the sides of her face), but that would be far too short.

That‘s a neat minifig! Finally the character‘s not exclusive to an SDCC promo anymore

I don‘t mind the lack of leg printing here.

Is this the final fig or perhaps a prototype?

Prototype minifigs don‘t leak, except for rare prototype mould test runs (like some of the Simpsons‘ heads). If you see a leaked printed minifig, always assume it to be final  The only potential differences between leaked minifigs and the real deal are missing accessories like capes or accidentally swapped pieces

Worth noting that also like 90%+ of the time 'prototype' is a misnomer and they're pieces specifically produced by factory workers for sale to fans

Aren‘t they just snatched off the conveyer belt by workers and then smuggled out of the factory while nobody‘s looking?

Basically - most 'prototype' pieces, the typically translucent ones you see on eBay and other third party sellers, tend to be made off the clock in factories by their employees with the singular purpose of selling them on. Same goes for most of the alignment test print figures nowadays.

No less cool as little trinkets, but the actual number of prototype pieces out in the wild is TINY - in my experience, most of them are molded in plain red, too, not all the other crazy colours.

Sorry, the point got wayyy away from me with that ramble, that's to say that it almost certainly is the final figure

Makes sense! I thought those were official test runs with the pieces getting collected and destroyed (or recycled) at the end  Your account would explain the existence of various colours because the usual prototypes (or test runs rather) are indeed red. The translucent ones could be explained by them wanting to test new moulds with different kinds of plastic, but not the other crazy colours we sometimes see.

Rogue workers sneakily creating their own recoloured pieces would explain a lot :laugh_hard:
