It wouldn't exactly be a first...
THELEGOBATMAN Posted September 14, 2024 Posted September 14, 2024 So I guess Ant-Man is the missing 8th minifigure in the Airport Battle. Very disappointing—a wasted slot, since he's the only character that can be represented as a build. I also have no idea why we need two separate Giant-Man builds in a two-month span. And both of those sets include Ant-Man as a minifigure too. Genuinely no idea what LEGO's thinking here.

It may sound insane, but given how long production on sets, it could legitimately be a reaction to how people were actually wanting an Ant-Man 3 set prior to that film and we never got it. They may have mistakenly thought that meant we wanted Ant-Man as opposed to back when people were wanting to own a Kang figure or build Modok. Though admittedly it's probably just because they can re-use the Ant-Man helmet mold and any Giant-Man related aspects. It's also likely a situation of circumstances colliding. If Lego had planned things out then we'd have gotten an Endgame final battle set quite a while after we got a Civil War final battle set, or at least spaced further apart. It arguably should have been that they go through the big films each year, around 9 years after so they can be on shelves for the 10th anniversary, so AoU (2024), Civil War (2025), Thor Ragnarok (2026), Infinity War (2027), Endgame (2028).
wesker Posted September 15, 2024 Posted September 15, 2024 Considering how long we've been stuck with the micro figure over the past several years I have no problem with Ant-Man appearing in more than one set. Shame there's no sign of a non-phasing Vision anytime soon though.

The team is finally coming together. 🥰 21 minutes ago, JeanGreyForever said: Thank you for posting! The face printing worries me a little though. She does look a bit pale, but IMO it’s only really noticeable compared to Rogue or Magneto. Next to Wolverine and Cyclops, it’s hardly noticeable. It does make me worried about Gambit though since his face will need to be printed on an even darker head.

Yeah, next to Cyclops she doesn't look that off. Except in terms of how much darker the blue in Jean's costume is than Cyclops' in lego form. They really should have the same shade of blue. I definitely see Gambit having that issue.
wesker Posted September 15, 2024 Posted September 15, 2024 Face printing on black heads looks terrible most of the time but the Catwoman that came with the Shadow Box was one of their better efforts. Hopefully the quality on Gambit is closer to that figure and nothing like Mercy from Overwatch.

There are a number of issues I have with the Cyclops figure. The color blue they chose is one of them, but it’s also not high on that list.

Exactly! Having two new Ant-Man minifigs is more than welcome! Both of the sets also featuring Giant-Man however feels a bit like overkill 8 hours ago, Legocentrico said: Kisha lego has a review of Jean on youtube Thank you! This is the first time a hairpiece appears in the new reddish orange, right? Never thought of that, but it could work well for some characters!
Legocentrico Posted September 15, 2024 Posted September 15, 2024 Does anyone know the account where Lego Meg posts? I can't find it anywhere... Jean's presentation style is different from Cap and Antman, I wanted to make sure they actually came from the same source
poisonbricks Posted September 15, 2024 Posted September 15, 2024 I've never actually seen a specific Instagram for them, I'm not sure there is one? Only ever seen the images second hand through a different source

wesker Posted September 15, 2024 Posted September 15, 2024 Most of us already predicted this but Magneto is now confirmed as the final figure in the X-Mansion. It isn't specified which version but I think its safe to assume it will be the same one from the X-Jet.

Not sure where you’re getting this from, but the only source I can find for this is a guy on Reddit who says he can see Magneto in the leaked images from a while back. So, unless you have something a bit more reliable to go off of, I would take this with a hearty dose of salt.
