In the new Lego Disney+ special, She-Hulk mentions Deadpool in the clip on youtube, HE IS MENTIONED, SO HE ISN'T TOTALLY OFF THE BOOKS YET I GUESS ?

And Jeff the land shark appears! Now I need him in a set

Wait years for Charles and then two Xavier’s at once and both are average. I still will be getting the GWP though as it is a nice bonus.

Brilliant, thanks.  It looks like a really good MOC, clearly more based on the movies.

Deadpool is inappropriate, but apparently a school bombing is perfectly ok. 🙄

Well, that's LEGO for you. They also changed the Bricklink Designer Programme rules so cruelty against animals (including caging or chaining them) can no longer be depicted. Then gave us a EUR 550 Star Wars set with a bunch of male characters and a chained Sex Slave Leia as the only female character. But then they made her wear a miniskirt over her golden bikini, so it's okay again./s

I could come up with some other recent examples, but the basic takeaway is always "It's the LEGO version of morality, don't think about it too hard".

I really like the set overall but it's disappointing that the rooms are so cramped. I would have rather had fewer, but bigger rooms. It's awkward that Cerebro is just right in front of the elevator like that. The Danger Room is easily the best part of the structure though. I'm really happy with the Sentinel build and I hope they pull a Leviathan and sell that on it's own next year with a few figures, maybe even Gambit. Gambit and Bishop are easily the best figures in the set.

Hopefully we get more classic X-Men inspired sets next year because I so badly want Nightcrawler.

Great to finally see official pictures!  On the LEGO website for UK it says it releases November 4th, not November 1st as per the press release? Are there different release dates globally?  Also, would in-store release date in LEGO store be the same as online?

Whoohoo!

The X-Mansion looks fantastic! I love the functions they selected for the rooms, they're epic.
The minifigures look great too. Not perfect, no, but the new characters at least look amazing

Not sure how I feel about the GWP... It doesn't really... add anything to the set, in my opinion.
That is, the taxi that came with Avengers Tower created some more scene, while this seems more like two variants of a different thing. TAS Cerebro and Fox-Men Cerebro...
It's a nice touch, but meh.

Mitch

It’s strange that the main Lego site is using the photo with the inaccurate colours for Bishop and Jean Grey as the number 1 official image. Thought they’d have sorted that in time.

Interesting tidbits from Duckbricks' designer interview for the Mansion! I'm paraphrasing a bit because I'm not going over the video multiple times for the exact wording haha

They said that they'd like to include more figures, but had to cut back somewhere 'not to say that those figures aren't designed, they may show up in content or in future products'

They somewhat 'lose track' of the reasons they can't do Deadpool, they said depending on who they ask they're given something different. So might not be a hard rule, but seems like he's being avoided intentionally, some confirmation of that can finally put the debates about him to an end haha

Does anyone know what hairpiece Gambit actually has? It seems to change with every photo. 😂

Good news for anyone who wants more X-Men sets.

Should be 1st November for VIP/Insiders. 4th General Release. Likely they havent set website to target if youre an Insider or not and just have generic general date.

If you want to buy multiple X-Mansions to get multiple Sentinels you get extra stickers to make the Sentinel look battle damaged

My guess is that it's either a VIP early access set, or just a typo. It still doesn't seem to be up yet on Lego's website for the US, so I can't say for sure, but I imagine it might be more clear once it's up.

The line "they may show up in content" makes me think of media like the Disney+ specials - that may be why Gambit's more detailed there, but is downgraded for the final set. Also, just another reason to not get too hopeful by anyone who does show up there. That, or some of the designs may have ended up in Fortnite - lots of other designs are 1:1 with existing figures. Though I'd still love to see some smaller, cheaper sets at some point!

The Deadpool bit is interesting, but I suppose it makes sense on some level. It could even be that the reasons behind excluding him have changed over time, which is why they "lost track" of exactly why.

Cerebro looks like a complete nothing-burger, but it will probably at least help recoup some costs from those who buy the set Day 1.

I found the full quotes! Let me copy them here:

Mark Tranter - “I bring him up every time I can but everyone just says, ‘shut up Mark.'” “I don’t know whose decision it is, we can obviously give input but there are reasons and factors that we don’t know.”

Justin Ramsden - “There are so many mutants to choose from, we chose the ones that are the most iconic and work with Marvel to see who we want. Mark and I could have gone on and on and on – and that’s not to say those minifigures aren’t designed. It’s just that maybe they don’t come out yet, or maybe they’ll never see the light of day.”

Mark Tranter - “We might have had some of them designed because we’re all fans, this is something we love to do. Maybe they just haven’t found a place in the portfolio yet.”

To me this all sounds pretty hopeful, but it's also a little confusing - they talk about the set like it's just packed and they couldn't possibly include any more, plus this idea that there's extra figs already designed that couldn't make it in... but they didn't even get to design every figure included in the Mansion! Look at Charles hahaha

I don't blame the designers individually, mind - I do believe every word they say about what they wanted, but it's really disappointing the way LEGO's cut corners on this set in particular.

I'm not a big stickler for price per piece, there's better ways to estimate value... but...

Natural History Museum - £259.99/$299.99/€299.99 / 4014 pieces

X-Mansion - £289.99/$329.99/€329.99 / 3093 pieces

... really?

Even looking at the figures, which I guess add value, we have 5 new face prints, 5 new torso prints, 4 new leg prints, 1 new decorated fabric part and 1 new (I assume they had to re-make Magneto's helmet after so long) decorated headgear

The Sanctum, which is cheaper, had 4 new face prints, 8 new torso prints, 3 new leg prints and 2 new prints on headgear

That's basically the same! The Mansion has 16 new minifigure elements, the Sanctum has 17 - for a fifty dollar difference that is not good. Even if it's negligible, the pretty significantly cheaper set shouldn't have more!

I'm only complaining so much because I want LEGO X-Men to be the best it can possibly be, and this is not that by any stretch of the imagination.

This is the comparison that sours the set for me. It's not just the part count, the museum is larger in every dimension except for width. The x-mansion is just a little too small, and it makes the interior feel more limited that I would want. I understand the Mansion has always had a large yard, but part of me feels they could have made an section that extends forward and lets the mansion itself fill the baseplates a bit more. Also super weird to have what is obviously Beast's lab but not have him included.

As for the minifigs, the new ones look great! My only issue is that Magneto's chest printing looks weirdly saggy, but everything else is pretty good. Gambit, Bishop, Jean Grey, and Iceman are all done about as well as I expected, very nice. I'm super disappointed with professor x though, not getting the dark green suit is just silly. Using the super generic face doesn't help either, I feel like he should look slightly less stern. Cerebro looks awful, it looks like he just slapped a bowl on top of his head. I get they wanted to have the cable coming out the top, but I feel this helmet in light grey or silver would be a much better approximation (https://brickset.com/parts/6469876/mini-helmet-no-87) Sadly, the best existing color, sand blue, is rare and expensive.

I'm really hoping we get a Sentinel set next year, because I'm not really interested in picking this up for myself.

Does anyone understand what the “missing” and “collected” on the sticker with the faces refers to?

Hopefully Jubilee, Nightcrawler and Cable show up next year.

They could be ideal candidates for a series 3 cmf
