Shadowbox wasn’t really a playset so much as it was an unholy abomination. I don’t think it sold well either, seeing as it’s already retiring.

I can't speak for anywhere else but according to the staff at my local Lego store its been a moderate seller at best. No where near as successful as the Marvel modulars but not a complete failure like the Hulkbuster and Black Panther Bust were either. Just a mid performing set overall.

While this is absolutely true, assumably lego had SOME faith in it, and that's still two big superhero playset D2Cs in one year. I think Marvel could have a modular so long as it's not too similar to Arkham (especially assuming that Arkham itself probably wouldn't literally be a modular)

I imagine if Arkham Asylum is a modular we'll be looking at a similar footprint to the Natural History Museum with brooding colors and gothic architecture. I don't think we'd have to worry about Marvel coming out with anything too similar to that. Most are assuming Oscorp and the Baxter Building are the next logical options and both of those are modern skyscrapers. They couldn't be further apart in appearance to Arkham.

Shadow Box isn't too bad, would be better if it was comic based, a great idea would be for a Wayne Manor to go on top

I actually quite like it even though I joke about it

I hope Arkham is a Modular and not a Shadowbox or something

Knowing how Lego DC operates, Arkham will be a microscale model.

What modular what Marvel have next? I'd like Thier next minifig compatible D2C to be something like Asgard instead of a modular.

I agree, and it's gotta be. I know everybody talks up Tony's penthouse but the fact that they keep churning out sets that include basically every fig that would be in it leads me to believe they think there's more money in a smaller scale 'modular' Hall of Armor.

On the same coin, the only Thor figs we've gotten are Thor and Loki, and of course Surtur, for the last few waves. No supporting cast from any of the 4 movies since L&T released. Suspicious...

Maybe the reason we aren't getting any Thunderbolts sets to coincide with the movie's release is due to Marvel holding back info about the plot and the villain, it's possible they don't want details regarding 'Bob' getting spoiled through merchandise.

Hopefully they'll make some sets after the movie has been out for a while, like they did with No Way Home.

Rumour says the September 2025 CMF will be Marvel or Fortnite. I'm personally hoping for marvel out of those 2.

Now since the last 2 marvel CMFs have been based entirely upon Disney+ projects then I assume they do the same. By September next year the following new projects are planned to release: What If S3, Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man, Daredevil Born again, Ironheart, Eyes of Wakanda. I expect we can expect to see the leads of all of those shows in a series 3 ( though I expect Daredevils should isn't something TLG would cover so he could still show up but his appearance would likely be based on She-Hulk or the Spider-Man cartoon) of course what if is a bit  different but I think it'll a get few characters, maybe a Thor variant. I also think Wiccan from Agatha all along would be a good shout as would Ms Marvel from the show of the same name. Loki S2 might also be represented but I'm not sure who they choose, maybe God of Stories Loki? More X-Men 97 characters also seem decently possibly, my personal picks would be Nightcrawler and Jubilee.

Was it confirmed or corroborated that we’re not getting Thunderbolts* sets? From what I remember, it was just the dubious Gambit leaker who said that.

LEGO has only made sets after the fact for movies that have performed extremely well (Endgame, NWH, Iron Man 1), as well as revisiting past Infinity Saga films that have gotten sets (Avengers, AoU, Thor: Ragnarok, etc) - In order to get Thunderbolts* sets, the movie will need to be popular enough to justify merch 1-2 years after the movie’s release!

There’s a good chance it could be a Fortnite CMF with some of the marvel skins included, that could be what’s causing the confusion?

I’d be down for this, especially if we got Colossus and Psylocke.

There was a recent post on the Lego Leaks Reddit page that listed some cancelled set ideas one listed was a Fortnite CMF.

That wasn't about a CMF - that was about a minifigure polybag - like the Animal Crossing Maple one.

We've had marvel sets that played things close to the chest before- not that it was neccesarily for spoiler reasons, but guardians 3 and the marvels didn't even include the main villain, much less say much about the plot. You could easily make a couple sets for this just off the trailers:

Lab Battle ($24.99): Laboratory build with some explode features and whatnot. Comes with Yelena, Ghost, John Walker, and Taskmaster.

Red Guardian Chase ($69.99): Red Guardian's limo, a humvee, and Bucky's motorcycle. Comes with Red Guardian, Bucky, John Walker, Ghost, and 2x soldier.

That would be a licensing nightmare, I imagine. Sure, the companies are already in contact, but how do you determine what cut fortnite gets and what cut marvel gets? I think this would be difficult enough in even a normal set, but in a blind bag CMF where only some of them are marvel, it'd be near-impossible. (And if all of them were marvel, there'd be no reason for fortnite to be involved at all)

È stato confermato o confermato che non stiamo ricevendo set Thunderbolts*? Da quello che ricordo, è stato solo il dubbio leaker di Gambit a dirlo.

I still think it's too early to know if thunderbolts gets a set. I remain hopeful, obviously because I want the minifigures of the protagonists, but also and above all because I don't want Lego to skip the films again like in the early years of the license :-/

I don't remember who spread this news…

How likely is it that we get something other than MCU shows in the CMF series?

Trust me, I want Mobius and Loki from Loki S2 too. (Wiccan deserves a mention too.) That said, after seeing a few customs online, I’d adore minifigs of Silver Age Iron Man or Captain America, utilizing a CMF budget to fully realize those characters straight from the comics.

Unlikely, I know, given poor sales of the DC CMF. Basically, I’d like to know: how unlikely is a Marvel Comics CMF?

If it were a Fortnite CMF, I doubt we’d get any characters beyond Fortnite skins of Iron Man and Cap. There’s not much marketability in the other characters besides a diehard Marvel fans; in which case, just do another Marvel CMF.

Plot Twist:  We DO get Thunderbolts sets but they’re 3 buildable construction figures (US Agent, Ghost, and Taskmaster).

Yeah I’m thinking we’ll get Nightcrawler, Jubilee, Morph, Death, Wiccan, and God Loki in the CMF. And for rep from the new shows it will be Ironheart, Wonder Man, and one of Spidey’s many suits from Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man.

At this point, if we know about a Fantastic Four vs Galactus set, set number, and release date, but we don't yet know if we're getting Thunderbolts sets, then I'm guessing we aren't getting Thunderbolts sets.

I'd like to see some of those Marvel minifigs be made physically like Spider-Woman, Mary Jane Watson, Dark Phoenix, Colossus, Jubilee, and Cable.

And some characters, like Rogue, Gambit, and Cyclops, could use that extra level of detail and printing.

This is pretty apt, it'd be SO weird if they were happening, and nobody knows about them, despite knowing about sets releasing about the same time in a fair bit of detail.

Of course we won't know absolutely 100% for sure until we start seeing official reveals or even just image leaks for that sorta time, but I'd say we can be about 99% sure it's not happening lmao

I do like the Shadowbox, but not $400 enough. I was hoping it would be a heavily discounted item for Black Friday, but it looks like it's already sold out. Oh well.

It had better not be microscale! I've not liked the Marvel modulars generally because they all seem too small compared to the figures. I think the Icons modular line is far better scaled to a minifigure. Yes, I know that's impractical for the towers, and, to be honest, probably all of them, but I saw this on Reddit the other day and it looks so much better by comparison. Yes, I also realize it would probably be $600.

I‘m disappointed we‘re back to the point where not every MCU movie gets tie-in sets anymore, but also not surprised :shrug_oh_well:

Thor: The Dark Thor and Captain America: The Winter Soldier (that guy, he’s so cool) would like a word.

Edit: Okay, that was your point, so fair enough.

Y’know, that What If…? S3 trailer finally convinced me on a Voltron-style mech LEGO set.

Thunderbolts also looks like a lot of fun. I’m certain it’ll be R-rated, which is the only reason I can see for LEGO skipping the film. Disappointing, for sure.

With What If...? Season 3, we can make out a few more Minifigure options.

Kahhori, Captain Carter, Birdie (original character), Goddess of Thunder Storm, Cowboy Shang-Chi or Cowboy Kate Bishop, Upgraded Ironheart (though unlikely with her new series), 1980s Red Guardian
