I don't like to talk about prices because each of us has different possibilities and above all attributes a different value. Of course if they cost less I would be happier :-D but by now it is well known that it is an expensive hobby (even if I must say that since I became a father and I look at the prices of other toys I have noticed that the whole sector has become very expensive)

Wait a minute… are those two 1x1 studs with clip connection being using on the sign in the Spider-Verse set? Oh my word, the potential for that piece is massive

Good catch. That indeed looks like what they are.

The new Ultron looks good, otherwise, everything here is a pass for me.

The problem is that nothing will change no matter how loudly the fans complain. The average consumer neither notices nor cares about all these cheap decisions and inaccuracies and will just buy the sets anyway. Our only hope is that alternative companies like FunWhole (man they need to change that name) manage to dig out and expand their little corner of the market so LEGO has to think twice about what they release and at what price. It absolutely pains me to be positive about alternative brands for once but right now they are absolutely a necessary evil to get LEGO to care again.

No matter how high prices get, I will never buy off brand stuff, Lego only strictly for me

Which I guess proves your point lol, we will still buy the product even if it's bad, they know this

I can totally understand how adding the police car in the Spider-Verse set enhances playability for younger builders (and that is the bottom line at the end of the day), but all the same all those pieces should’ve been used towards expanding the building itself IMO. Miles’ new hairpiece looks awesome and I won’t comment on how Pepper Potts is cosplaying as Gwen Stacy.

I’d be more keen on that set if the CMF wasn’t on the way, however I’m now happy to be patient and wait because at least it’ll have a good enough budget.

Venom’s muscle car looks surprisingly good! Finally a vehicle that isn’t just adding to the Spider-fleet. The mechs look really solid too.

More than any other theme at this point, with Marvel we should always temper expectations because the end product is always going to be full of compromises. With most themes, seeing leaked set lists and eventually the actual product has some degree of consistency with balancing expectation against reality, however I’ve been finding that with Marvel the whiplash of getting excited about a set by its name and then seeing the end result is quite strong most of the time.

This wave is so insanely bad and representative of the current state of the theme that it's almost funny in the most gutwrenching way imaginable. My god this theme is in the gutter :wall:

Do you.. at least like the ATSV set? That’s like the one set that most people like from this wave (the Iron Man mech too).

IDK I feel like you’re being too negative when there’s clearly a set or two (like the ATSV set) that a lot of people think looks pretty good (despite the price).

This wave isn't even just abysmal at this point, it's simply embarrassing and deeply sad.

I feel like you clearly don’t like the Soider Verse set. You’re being over dramatic. Like, there’s legit problems with this wave, but I feel like you glance over the positives (like the Spider Verse set regardless of its price, the Spot and comic Ultron figures, etc) just so you can stay negative. Not trying to be rude! Just wanting you to not be so negative. :)

Like, people who list negatives also list positives they have with the wave. You didn’t even praise the one set most people like from this wave (76311), instead you were radio silent.

Yes, they are! We‘ve known for a while they‘re coming because they‘ll be in other sets (like one of the MK ones) and they were recently patented. There was an article on either Promobricks or Stonewars a while back that looked at these pieces, among others

My thoughts on the wave:

The ATSV set is really carrying this wave. Even though that set has minor problems, it still is a great set and I’m glad we’re getting an 100% official Spider Verse set.

Civil War set looks decent. I didn’t pick up the original so maybe that’s why I’m a bit easier on it than most. I’ll pick it up but only with points for a discount.

The rest of the wave I don’t care for that much. I already have the 2020 Iron Man mech and the other sets are same old same old from Marvel for the last few years.

The Marvel Logo set looks bad. It’s gonna hit hard on the clearance shelf.

I had started loving LEGO Marvel again then I saw these sets... The only one I really like it the one from Spiderverse but gosh this price... Bucky and IM from the civil war set feels like so much downgrade from what we had before

cap and IM from sign set are really cool but I'm not gonna pay 100 bucks for marvel written with lego

I agree. The only sets I’m getting are ATSV and Civil War (on discount).

At least the Iron Man is coming in a cheaper Hall of Armor (even though that set is expensive too).

It’s very weird but I can’t imagine how myself 10 years ago would hear from myself today that there are going to be Marvel sets that I am going to purposely skip.

The only full set I want from this wave is the ATSV set for Spot and the builds, and even then I couldn't care less about the Gwen and Miles figs - they'll get sold off, probably.

Anti-Venom, Spider-Woman and Ultron are all great to see, but the sets they're in are such nothing products. I'll probably buy the mechs because it'll be cheaper than Bricklinking the figures close to release. The Venom car, as fun as it is, just doesn't have a place in my collection, so I guess Julia can wait.

The Civil War set is hilarious, and the Marvel logo just feels like it doesn't really have an audience.

I'm a little worried that LEGO Marvel's waves are settling into 'generic mech, generic car, construction figure, legacy MCU film battle set'. It's not BAD, but we've had so much better in the past.

Looking at how lazy and cheap the figures in this wave (and past ones) are I doubt they'd be able to fit a bunch of new figures like that in their $8 budget.

What about the Spot, Miles from this set, Ultron, Gambit, Bishop, Iceman, NWH Lizard, etc?

There are a bunch of good figures that we've had if you are much more positive :)  Yes, some figures we've gotten have sucked, but I just don't understand why you are acting like "the sky is falling!".

I feel like that's gonna be the pattern from now on. I wonder when we're going to get Summer 2025 leaks. Probably before the year ends?

Here's hoping next summer we ACTUALLY get an Sentinel set and Civil War DLC set, and that BS Gambit guy who made up those rumors just happened to be lucky.

The new Bucky figure is just awful. Wrong hair color, no arm printing and a messy costume design. As if I needed another reason to skip this set.

Hopefully we can get some Galactus pics soon and news on what's coming in the summer wave. The Marvel theme is off to a rather underwhelming start for next year.

The Spider-Verse set would be quite amazing—if it was 30€ instead of 50€. I still can't get over that price point, it's ridiculous.

This is extremely important - DO NOT BUY THE SET IF YOU RECOGNIZE HOW OVERPRICED IT IS. If we keep buying them anyway, the prices will only go up. If you don't think it's a fair price, have the willpower to wait for a discount.

The best thing to come out of the wave.

I don't think it's too negative- the bright spot you mention is handicapped by the price. You can't disregard the price of a set when talking about it.

I didn't know we were getting Mortal Kombat sets! That's awesome. ()

What's funny is I was going to make a joke about how he clearly meant Moon Knight, but I realized I don't know whether he's referring to Mario Kart or Monkey Kid in reality, which is much funnier to me.

The only buy here for me is the iron man mech. I'll probably bricklink Anti-Venom or get him when the mech hits a discount. I got really excited when I saw the white spider logo on the mech but no, it's not spidey PS4 inside, it's the normal one. I agree with most other people that it's just an overall disappointing wave.

Also, why is Poe Dameron cosplaying Bucky? He forgot the arm, too! Is this the new Moon Knight personality?

Seeing how lazy Lego went with the Airport Battle, It makes me think they will probably give Iron Patriot regular blue legs.

Lego you had one job... to make a new hairpiece for gwen

Hopefully atsv gwen in the cmf so i have no need for this set

Yeah.. that figure is just . Good thing I'm just gonna put him in the quinjet so he isn't displayed or anything haha,

That's fair. I just was kinda perplexed on why @lego_guyon02 was acting like Death was knocking on the LEGO Marvel theme's door when the ATSV set is part of this upcoming wave, as pretty much the majority of us have praised the set even though it's insanely priced. I guess I sometimes separate the prices from the sets but yeah, you make a point how it's a crucial part of a set.

At least the set has the Spot and good builds (and a good Jefferson Davis even though I don't think he has exclusive pieces). I think the CMF and the 76311 set are going to look killer on Display together (assuming the CMF is good, which I hope).

I missed that, or just forgot I saw that. Would’ve been cool if LEGO Marvel had a first at revealing one of those useful pieces. They did before, with the transparent-clear stud with hole.

At least they should've used this! It already would've been so much better.

No thats too "karen-y" for me. Firestar toys has the best looking atsv gwen now but it was like 30/40 pounds. It's best if she gets a new hair piece. And even though it's not conventional, it can be reused in city sets for diversity

The HD Spider-Verse setpictures are new but don't really show anything that we hadn't already seen in past leaks, that's why I didn't bring it up. But even though I do like it and plan to get it when it's discounted (because the base price is pretty insane) it still isn't perfect either and has some problems :shrug_oh_well:

1 out of every 10 figures being good isn't exactly something to cheer for. I don't know about you but I sadly haven't figured out an infinite money glitch yet so as long as I need to pay for these very expensive products with my own hard earned cash I don't exactly feel like making excuses for a large corporation cheaping out on things. Especially when most of my issues with these figures stem from LEGO actively downgrading reused figures (Widow's arms, Spidey's legs, Wanda's skirt) and making mistakes that could easily have been prevented if the designer knew how to use Google (Bucky being based on the wrong movie and having the wrong haircolor).

It's a new face print, which the budget could have used it on the arm instead and reuse a face

I really hope she gets a new hairpiece for the CMF series.

I agree that the other one is too "karen-y", but it's still way more accurate than a generic ponytail.

Even much worse, don't forget

It seems like a huge oversight to base Bucky’s design on the Winter Soldier film (especially as he has new prints), maybe there’s finally a CA: TWS set planned for the summer and they just couldn’t bother / didn’t have budget to make two variants of him?

Kinda weird to say but mechs are the only sets in this wave that actually are worth buying and have good minifigs. Honestly Marvel theme is cutting way too many corners this year, it’s just sad to see this theme become so  neglected by Lego.
