Thanks for explaining. I googled it but couldn't find anything because I assumed that Hailee had issued a public statement against him, so I wasn't sure if I was missing something or not. That is a little skeevy if it's happened twice.

Tbh I probably won't buy the set if it's MCU-based. I generally only buy the comic sets and my attachment is to the comic book FF. I'd like a comic-book FF team to match the X-Men minifigs and Daily Bugle Spider-Man characters. An MCU Torch will stand out if you put him next to the Daily Bugle Spider-Man, Firestar, or X-Mansion's Iceman. And I have little interest in the MCU, especially future MCU movies, including the FF movie after the Silver Surfer gender swap. I say this as a woman btw before I get accused of misogyny by anyone. Disney/Marvel needs to stop these bizarre recastings.

Anyone who would call someone a misogynist over being upset about a gender swap is stupid and they know it

It's a valid opinion, there is no need for it, if it was the other way round, those weirdos would riot

Should have just made it the normal silver surfer

Anyway I'd rather have the comic style F4 so it can match well with the comic style looks for X-Men,Punisher,Daredevil and Spider-Man, Kinda sick of the over designed MCU suits NGL

I wouldn't mind Deadpool and Wolverine,Punisher and Daredevil in their MCU style suits but that's about it

If we got the F4 like how they looked in the first Lego Marvel Game then I'd be happy, would love a comic style Bullseye too

I think we might get more comic based sets in the future since the MCU has fallen off and Lego doesn't want to risk making sets for films that could fail like Thunderbolts

Surprised they made Cap 4 sets, that film sounds like a mess, high budget, lots of reshoots, poor audience reaction from test screenings, it would have to make 1B to break even

I miss Steve Rogers, Falcon was cool before they made him take the mantle of Cap, I don't like the passing of mantles tbh, I care about the guy behind the mask as well not just the symbol, Bruce Wayne will always be Batman,Peter Parker will always be Spider-Man,Kal El will always be Superman,Steve Rogers will always be Captain America,Tony Stark will always be Iron Man,Natasha will always be Black Widow and Hawkeye will always be Clint, that's why Phase 4 failed, they tried too hard to make the sidekicks and new characters replace the old

Now if they just brought in new characters like Ghost Rider,Punisher,Daredevil,Blade,X-Men and F4 then it might have been good, can't believe they have all the characters at their finger tips (Besides Spidey) but they focus on these unlikeable, unknown, boring characters

Daredevil and F4 might be the only good projects in 2025, MCU is banking on them to hype people up again, Avengers 5,6 and Spider-Man 4 as well, after that, I don't know what else they can do that will want to bring people back to the cinemas, maybe X-Men but maybe the interest will go by then

Good point, it's the double standard about how only certain characters should be recast but not ones who are women or minorities already. If a male or white character is recast, the claim is that his gender or the character being white had nothing to do with their story and can be easily changed without altering the character. But if the character is originally female or a minority, then it's always argued that being female or part of another culture is an intrinsic part of that character's story and would warp the character beyond recognition.

With Silver Surfer, I think there's been more backlash than usual because of the fact that he's such an iconic Marvel character and one of Stan and Jack's personal creations. Unlike other Marvel characters, we've only had one cinematic iteration of him which was cut short when the first Fantastic Four film series ended and they never made a Silver Surfer spinoff movie like promised. Almost two decades later, we finally got the chance to give the Surfer another chance but they had to mess it up. And what's even weirder is how they took his rather one-dimensional love interest, with only a handful of appearances in the comics, and gave her the title. She's not even part of his original origin and was a retcon. The Silver Surfer is not some mantle that gets passed down onto multiple characters. There are multiple heralds of Galactus, (as we saw with Lego Terrax in that latest Lego Marvel movie) but only one was the Silver Surfer.

So now we might be getting the FF as Lego minifigs but we won't be getting the Silver Surfer. The real one anyway. And I'm not even sure if the female one will get a minifig since Lego seems very careful now about only producing a certain amount of new characters from the MCU movies.

Yeah, I don't like the same MCU suits over and over. I'm sick of Hawkeye in that black suit and want him in his purple cowl again. Or Black Widow with actual red hair and Thor in his helmet. I don't mind MCU versions of Deadpool, Wolverine, Punisher, and Daredevil because we do have comic versions of them already. There should be options for the MCU fans to get MCU minifigs for them. Just as the MCU characters should have comic counterpart minifigs available as well.

Kingpin, Bullseye, and Elektra would all be great. Since Kingpin was originally Spider-Man's enemy, and Elektra popped up in the Ultimate Spider-Man comics, I do think there would be room for all three in an Oscorp set.

Not just Thunderbolts but also Brave New World. If any film can match the disaster that was The Marvels, it seems to be BNW especially after how many expensive reshoots that film has gone through already. There's just no interest in a Captain America movie without Steve Rogers. And you can see that Marvel is backpedaling now, hence casting Robert Downey Jr. as Doctor Doom.

Superhero fatigue might not be there 100% but I fear it's getting there, like the way Westerns and Zombie movies were loved and popular and then stopped being made

I didn't think it was possible for any MCU movie to tank as much as The Marvels did. The box office was already declining for each successive MCU movie like Thor: Love and Thunder and Quantumania but The Marvels ended up becoming the biggest box office flop of all time. So the writing's been on the wall for a while now. The DCEU has completely failed to take off. Joker 2 was a disaster as well. We have an Avengers movie coming up but we have no idea who's even an Avenger.

Chris Evans will be in Doomsday so Marvel is probably desperate, I agree about double standards, it's ridiculous but that's the world we live in, people aren't smart, Would Bullseye fit in an Oscorp set ? I mean he's more of  a Daredevil villain but I guess Bugle had Punisher,Blade and Daredevil so

Avengers Secret Wars is heavily relying on nostalgia with bringing back the early 2000s heroes like Afflecks Daredevil,Tobey Spidey,Nic Cage Ghost Rider, 2005 F4,Eric Bana Hulk.Thomas Jane Punisher,2000's X-Men

Honestly that's what I'm most excited about, seeing everyone interact, legacy and MCU characters

I'd pay a lot to see a portal opening and Evanescence playing while Ben's Daredevil appears lol

I think he always said he'd be back but not in a Captain America movie but in his own movie. I always figured Marvel would bring him back especially if they couldn't get Robert Downey Jr. And the only thing safer than bringing back one is bringing back both of them. A lot of people want to see Tobey Maguire interact with Robert Downey Jr. and Chris Evans interact with Hugh Jackman. Hugh Jackman also used to say he'd only play Wolverine again if he could join the MCU and work alongside those actors.

Punisher debuted in Spider-Man as one of his enemies. I don't remember Blade having much of a connection to Spider-Man in the comics, although he was playable in a Spider-Man video game (Friend or Foe). I think he was added specifically because he was considered a mature rated-R character who couldn't get into a regular playline set so a D2C set was the only chance for him, like with Punisher and Daredevil. Daredevil and Spider-Man have long been allies and guest-starred in each other's books. Not to mention that Ben Urich crossed back and forth between the Spider-Man and Daredevil books so Ben Urich's inclusion makes it even more obvious to use Daredevil. Blade was probably the biggest reach out of those three rated-R characters but I think he works. And by that logic, it wouldn't be that much of a stretch to include Bullseye in an Oscorp set, especially if it features the Kingpin.

I’m gonna have to point out to not expect a crazy amount of character returns.

The main cast of the 2016 comic (which is what this is probably based on because of Doom’s involvement) was completely comprised of 616 characters with the exception of Miles Morales and the Maker.

I think Lego was banking on the Captain America title, Red Hulk, and not expecting the film to be as DOA as it probably will be especially after multiple rounds of reshoots that still haven't reached any positive audience reactions. The outcome of BNW will probably affect the fate of future Lego MCU sets.

Falcon becoming the new Cap in the comics was originally also controversial but I think readers grew to accept him and even liked him in the role. The problem is that in the movies, Anthony Mackie has never been that beloved or charismatic an actor to headline this legacy character. There's no audience interest or love for him in the role. That didn't happen after the Falcon and Winter Soldier series, which was created specifically to prepare audiences for Falcon in this role, and it doesn't sound like BNW will achieve that either. Marvel realized they were losing their original actors and thought they could introduce a new generation of younger actors that could last another 10-15 years in these roles but most of them haven't resonated. And ironically enough, saddling Captain Marvel with two spinoff characters, when she was barely a fully formulated character herself, probably also caused her decline as well. Meanwhile Lego is still charging outrageous prices for that Marvels set lol.

Based on how they've failed to make Blade over and over and it's been in development hell, I'm guessing all the more mature characters are just too tricky to bring into the MCU. We know they're working hard on bringing in the X-Men as a last chance to bring back new energy into this flagging franchise. That might be good for more Lego X-Men sets but based on the quality of the MCU these days, I don't know if I trust them with any X-Men movies. That franchise may fail to take off and damage the brand.

It could be a case like in The Flash movie where those actors have a few seconds of cameos and that's all. Like Henry Cavill in Deadpool and Wolverine. Depending on who they manage to bring back. There were lots of rumors about the X-Men cast in D&W and then the majority of those rumored actors never ended up in the film. Not to mention the alleged stunt castings like Taylor Swift as Dazzler. Although maybe we'll still get a Dazzler minifigure considering one version of her was in that Lego Marvel film and another version was an easter egg in the X-Mansion.

There are two D2C sets in 2025

One in 1HY(April or something else)

Another one in October 2025

I believe the Marvel one is likely to be a non minifig system set. Like the Hulk buster was or the Helicarrier or the black panther bust.

Which is stupid, because this characters or this versions of characters are known by older audience. No one is watching movies like daredevil or elektra anymore today. Weird nostalgia for it is dying. It worked kinda for Deadpool (r-rated and obscure) but PG-13 movie has no sense.

I'd buy FF4 set if figures are fine. I don't care if MCU if comic based or both (LEGO sometimes do mash-ups like that). I just want nice figures.

Some of this seems to be alleged though, according to my limited understanding of the situation. Hailee (also the world’s greatest archer, the only other person to take down Kingpin, and, most importantly, proud owner of a pizza dog) and Shameik seem to have fine chemistry in most interviews I’ve seen; nothing awkward or uncomfortable.

Now the part with Shameik posting a photo with the actress who plays Liz with a weird caption and refusing to take it down… that’s a little sus. Nothing crime-worthy, though. Hope everyone, especially Shameik, can move past this. (By Shameik specifically, by growing up a little bit, lol.)

Before the new year comes and this thread closes, I want to ask a question that’s been on the back of my mind:

Why do we care about whether or not the Fantastic Four are comic-based or not? Does it matter from what source material they are, so long as we see the FF as LEGO minifigs at all? It seems to me that some wouldn’t buy the FF set if it was MCU-based, although I may have misread the room on that one.

Hope I don’t come off as offensive or obtuse. I think I kept bringing this up when we got initial rumors and nobody responded, so I figured I might as well try again.

No yeah exactly he hasn't committed any crimes or anything so I don't think there's any reason yet to be super concerned, but it's something to put on the radar.

Personally I'd be more likely to buy a comic one just because I haven't seen the movie- I don't know if I'll like it or not yet. If the movie's great, maybe I won't care whether it's a comic or movie set. If it's not good, I'd prefer a comic set.

Especially as it pertains to lego I don't think anyone can reasonably state that that's the reason most people dislike the swap. We don't have a figure of the normal comic silver surfer yet. It's totally reasonable to be annoyed that his first lego minifigure will likely actually be a her, and therefore we probably won't even be able to use the head or torso for customs of him. (If we even get a silver surfer figure at all lol)

To be fair, I just don't know where else they can logically go to expand this. Team ups/crossovers sell, they're running scared over their very inconsistent performance since endgame, and while RDJ and Chris Evans are returning for Doomsday I can see them thinking it won't be enough for Secret Wars. The only way to expand the crossovers is to take what NWH and DP&W did to it's ultimate conclusion and include as many MCU and pre-MCU marvel heroes as possible.

This. I didn't even like Steve Rogers but he was Captain America. The movies did a good job of showing us who he was, how his life experiences had shaped him into the person we knew, what he valued and fought for. I didn't like the character and often disagreed with his actions but he felt fleshed-out. Sam Wilson was just his buddy with the wings, Bucky had a lot more backstory than him. There was no real reason to care about Falcon and calling him Captain America now doesn't change that.

In Captain Marvel's defense, I think Brie Larson's take on the character was excellent. I also think The Marvels was, in terms of storytelling, actually one of the MCU's better recent efforts. At least it was fun! But it definitely suffered from the overall decline of the MCU, from coming right after Secret Invasion (and then not even being consistent with it in terms of continuity, though that's probably a blessing given the stupid things Secret Invasion did to the continuity) and yes, from not giving Captain Marvel decent backup. I mean Dr Strange got Wanda as his co-star and Captain Marvel got Monica Rambeau, that's not really comparable.

As for LEGO Marvel: Do we know if there's going to be a polybag bext year and if so, who will be in it?

I'm 20 and I know about 2003 Daredevil, came out a year before I was born, just because general audience doesn't know it doesn't mean it's stupid, Marvel is mainly enjoyed by fans

Gen Z probably knows all the early 2000s characters, it's all about if they're a die hard fan or general audience

If NWH didn't have Tobey or Andrew then it wouldn't have done as good, it's all about nostalgia and the OG's

You might be the first person I've ever met who doesn't like Steve, but I agree with the overall point. Bucky was given vastly more setup.

Sam could have worked as Cap (even by himself, though I will once again shill for what should have happened, which was them deciding no one man could be steve and Sam, Bucky, and John ALL become cap), but TFATWS really fumbled the ball.

I think the failure of The Marvels does ultimately come down to it just not being a film people wanted to see. I don't think it just failed because the MCU was declining and they didn't give her a more famous supporting hero. Brie Larson's been a great actress in other things, but I do think that whether it was the script or direction or what, her Captain Marvel wasn't great. Some people say she was too arrogant, but I think it's the opposite- personality wise I've read plenty of comics where she acts like Tony Stark. I think they needed to go all-in on the hotshot pilot personality.

Eh. I don't really like the setting, I feel like if you're gonna do 60's amazing fantasy style, go all in. No streaming fights on twitch. The theme is a good representation of that for me too, if you want to do 60's spider man, make it feel like 60's spider man. If you want to do that more modern style, do that.

I will say though I loved the bit where he cracks a brick into a guy's skull and everyone winces. They won't address it further than that in the show, but that man is DEAD. This spider man killed a guy.

It doesn't matter so much if the audience knows all the specific versions of the characters, but that it's the only place left to go if you're trying to make bigger and bigger crossovers. (Also, just the promise of seeing the avengers interact with legacy characters who've already shown up, like Tobey Spider-man and Hugh Wolverine, is probably intended to be the main draw). If Endgame had everyone from the MCU, telling the GA we're gonna get everyone from ALL the marvel movies is the only place left for the franchise to go in terms of size. One could argue it should just focus on being good rather than just big, but that's not a lesson marvel seems to have learned from films like NWH and DP&W that were both.

(Or just add the Rivals cast in)

I feel like Avengers sets will happen no matter what. Same with Spidey. Anytime they get a new movie, there will always be some sets to coincide with the movie.

Does anyone have any guesses and theories on what the Summer 2025 sets are going to be based on the prices that we're revealed recently?

I feel like (and hope) 76320 is a Sentinel, given the piece count is similar to the one in the X-Mansion, but for $19.99, I feel like there would only be 2 minifigures.

the $34.99 4+ set (76319) I could see being a 4+ Hall of Armor (similar to the 4+ Batcave that came out this year)

76324 ($129.99) or 76325 ($119.99), I defiantly think one of them is a AOU Quinjet (that will come with the rumored MCU Quicksilver figure)

Superhero fatigue might not be there 100% but I fear it's getting there, like the way Westerns and Zombie movies were loved and popular and then stopped being made

I think I've reached it
