So Dazzler is getting a new ongoing series in the comics. This is the first time she's had a solo book since her original ended in the 80s. Between this, the reprints of the original Dazzler series later in the year, plus Taylor Swift's hints, it seems very likely Taylor Swift will be playing Dazzler in Deadpool & Wolverine.

Which leads me to wonder if Lego will try any way to capitalize on this. With actual sets being out of the question, I wonder if Lego can't just release a polybag of a Taylor Swift Dazzler minifigure. I feel that would be an excellent promotional device and sell like hotcakes once the Swifties find out and spread it all over social media.

By the finale, Nightcrawler will have been in just as many episodes as Gambit was, maybe there's hope that he'll be the 10th minifigure

Don't do that, don't give me hope. Nightcrawler is my favorite X-Man and I would love a minifig of him.

I do agree that Nightcrawler is the character outside of the main 10 (Prof X, Cyclops, Wolverine, Jean Gray, Beast, Storm, Gambit, Rogue, Jubilee, and Magneto) that seems the most likely to appear, if we’re just going off of his impact in the show and popularity in general.

Regardless, I’m very disappointed with just how little set coverage we’re getting for this show. We should have gotten at least one more set over the summer because there’s just so many characters to cover (only counting the X-Men even) and two sets just isn’t gonna cut it.

Agreed, I wish we were getting more sets --more affordable sets at that. As badly as I want a Nightcrawler figure, I'd much, much rather have him appear in a cheaper set, or better yet, a cmf so he can get level of detail needed to properly pull him off.

I do have some hope that the fact that they can make X-Men sets again and the overwhelming popularity of 97 will result in more sets being made at some point. An X-Men vs Sentinel buildable figure seems like a no-brainer and could include a variety of different X-Men figures. There's always next year.

That Cap 4 set isn't getting cancelled right? I'm worried bc something similar happened with the Flash movie set.

McDonalds also released Cap 4 toys in happy meals right now, so I wonder if we will see that set this year after all

I believe I saw somewhere that it was delayed to this December

Honestly, I really doubt we see any Deadpool adjacent sets ever again, let alone a character specifically from one of his movies.

Maybe they throw Dazzler into a more general X-Men set at some point down the road, but I'd bet money against anything directly related to the Reynolds movies releasing.

The other thing to keep in mind about Nightcrawler isn't just the molds for the tail and ears but also that he has very specific banding around his boots and legs. For the boots especially, he'll need leg printing and dual-molded legs. I doubt we'd get that for him in the X-Mansion, so our best bet for him would be to wait for the next Marvel CMF line and hope he's given one of the X-Men slots.

You forgot about a little trick Lego likes to use called “ignore aspects of the source material designs in favor of cost reduction.” See the X-Jet minifigures for some examples of how this little trick can be employed.

IMO, a buildable sentinel should have been a no brainer for this summer.

This would be my ideal lineup for a winter wave, just based off what we’ve seen so far in the show.

Motendo Battle ($30)

Jubilee, Roberto, and a Buildable Mojo with some video game elements thrown in.

Sinister’s Lab ($50)

A haunted house type build with some hidden lab elements. Includes Goblin Queen, Mr Sinister, Cyclops, and Jean Gray

Battle for Genosha ($60)

Godzilla Sentinel. If you know, you know. Includes Magneto, Rogue, Nightcrawler, and Gambit with a motorcycle. All in their standard outfits, rather than their gala costumes.

Sentinel Attack ($70)

A giant buildable Sentinel with Trask, Storm, Bishop, Wolverine, and Cyclops

The X-Mansion fig list should be: Wolverine, Rogue, Cyclops, Magneto, Storm, Professor X, Jean Grey, Gambit, Morph, and Beast.

Kind of a bummer, but not surprising. Any idea if any of the reuses are new in some capacity? Like, I dunno, Cyclops' legs?

Glad to be getting Morph, but why no Jubilee??
Do you know anything about the versions of the characters that appear (Magneto’s suit colour, Beast with or without lab coat, do Morph and Cyclops get new legs, etc)?

Jean and Gambit were expected but glad we have confirmation both characters are finally on the way. Morph is a nice inclusion too but I would've preferred getting Jubilee instead to complete the original animated team. Hopefully Magneto won't be a repeat from the X-Jet and they go with the red costume this time.

Now comes the long wait for the January set list to find out if there are anymore X-Men sets on the horizon.

Morph instead of Jubilee or even Nightcrawler is an odd pick, since both are far more popular than him.

Oh well, at least I'll finally have a Jean minifig.

Technically this does complete the original team before she joined

Which is why it makes sense for future sets. Some characters/variants would remain exclusive to the Mansion, so better it's not everyone's favourite blue elf

Jean could at least return for future sets in a different costume, hopefully as Phoenix, and Gambit... well nuff said

Magneto's costume in this set would really make the difference between this set having a villain or not

Morph does make sense to me, assuming they decide to print Cyclops' legs, because they share an identical design for their suits' legs.

Yes, this gives me a lot of hope that we won't get barebones legs again.

Very happy Morph made it in for that reason. I like the roster overall, but the lack of Jubilee is confusing and a bit surprising. I just hope this means we might see her and Nightcrawler in a future CMF. Nightcrawler's exclusion doesn't shock me and it's probably for the best (even though I really want him) because there's no way Lego would do him justice outside of a CMF series.

Lots of characters can appear in future sets with different costumes, such as Jean as Phoenix as you mentioned. That one is long overdue along with Spider-Woman and black suit Spider-Man as an SDCC exclusive that really needs a remake.

My personal guess is that Magneto will be in his classic red and purple. I have the original figure which is excellent but he really needs dual molded legs. Honestly, I wouldn't even mind if they remade his big M purple costume because the X-Jet minifig was a horrible depiction of his look from the show.

That's what I'm expecting but it really feels like such a waste. I'm hearing that Swifties are already on social media asking what comics to get featuring Dazzler. Once they're galvanized, they're all in, and apparently the new Dazzler comic series is inspired by her World Tour. Lego would be crazy to miss out on this synergy because a polybag, exclusively devoted to Taylor's Dazzler and not any other characters hogging attention, could easily break the Internet.

Here's hoping for at least a Sentinel for the January wave/2025 sets in general.

Do you guys think the X-Mansion might end up being like Hogwarts, with other sets being new parts of the complex?

Because of course it's highly unlikely that this set will cover all parts of the mansion.

That may also explain why they didn't go the modular route. There's so many rooms to cover between Xavier's office, the Danger Room with observation deck, Beast's lab, the medical infirmary, the war room (featuring Cerebro), holding cells, X-Jet hangar, etc.

That's not even accounting for living quarters like the living room, bedrooms, kitchen, etc. And maybe a classroom even though that isn't really a thing in the show.

That reminds me we should be due for another Marvel CMF series next year if they stick with the 2 year gap between waves. It would be a great way to release Nightcrawler, Jubilee and Classic Storm as they would benefit the most out of the CMF budget. Maybe they can throw Sinister in there too.

At this stage I'm expecting the mansion to remain a stand alone model. I do love the idea of getting small modular expansions that can combine to build a larger complex.

I expect this set to have at the very least have Cerebro, Xavier's office, and Beast's lab/infirmary, as those are the most "iconic" locations.

An expansion set could feature the Danger Room and the x-Jet hangar.

All of those would be great choices. I'd love to see the Goblin Queen with baby Nathan as well if there was room. And since CMF Series 2 brought in Agatha from WandaVision, that means they don't have a problem going back to older shows for more minifigures. I'd love to see Strange Supreme and Reformed Hela from What If?

I'm not surprised that the minifigure selection is basically the show roster in one set, and it's about damn time we finally get Gambit and a Jean that won't cost people an arm and a leg to buy from scalpers (though there really should've been another villain included like Mystique or something). What I am shocked at is how MORPH got a minifigure before Jubilee? She's been a part of the team since the second episode of the original series while Morph died in the same episode and remained dead until Season 2.

Now to just hope that Cyclops gets the proper leg printing treatment this time, Rogue gets a better hairpiece, and Magneto gets his classic suit/the 2012 minifigure but with trunks printing and dual molded legs since he wore that for the last half of the new season (thank god).

Posted (edited)

X-Mansion lineup is pretty much as was expected. Hopefully Jubilee and Nightcrawler find their way into sets or a CMF next year. (I strongly disagree that Nightcrawler needs the CMF treatment. Existing tail and hair molded ib blue and new torso and head prints are all he really needs. That’s not a lot to ask for in a regular set and there are so many other characters that really need the CMF treatment over him.) It would also be great if we got new legs for Cyclops and Morph, better hair for Rogue, a lab coat for Beast, and classic Magneto.

What are the odds we get a Sentinel GWP featuring Jubilee?

I'm guessing Brown Suit, Green & White, Claremont Costume, OG Red, Claremont Costume, regular, Jim Lee, Jim Lee, '97, and lab coat.

Sure, we could get the regular 90s costumes, but I think Lego could throw us a curve ball and give us the end of season outfits.

No Jubes is an absolute war crime, but so is waiting this long for Jean and Gambit.

For the price though, only 10 figures is absurd. :sceptic:

I honestly hope Storm is not the Claremont look because they’ll never give her a new hairpiece for the tiara, I’d rather save it for a CMF.

This is a really, really, really weird choice to me. Jubilee is a significantly more popular character, both in the show and in the wider universe/fanbase.

The only thing I can think is they ran out of new prints, and Morph is just going to be a new head on Cyclops's torso.

3 hours ago, JeanGreyForever said:

I wonder if there's any chance for a polybag or GWP that could feature Jubilee. The Avengers Tower did get a GWP.

After people got mad at the droid carrier GWP for being a cool set, then got mad at the Fell Beast for not having a desirable enough exclusive figure, I can't IMAGINE the outrage of them putting Jubilee behind a GWP paywall. Does it track logically with the anger at the Fell Beast? No. Does it track with the fact that a set of the fanbase has just decided to passionately hate the concept of GWPS? Yes.

Plus, I feel like that would actually be something to be rationally upset at. That's a pretty major character to lock behind a GWP.

1. I don't think they're that lazy. Lego will shake it up a bit. Rogue and Wolverine are the only ones to probably get reused.

2. Most of the 97 costumes are the Jim Lee designs (with minor adjustments), not sure where's the debunk there.

3. Morph is not, I repeat NOT going to be just a new head. His costume is different enough from Cykes to at minimum require a new torso print. Give Lego some credit.

I'd rather Lego get its bricks together and actually give us figures that are worth a damn. Especially in a set this expensive.

I don't think a new hairpiece is out of the question, though. Failing that, a sufficient print for the head would be enough. Let's try to keep the CMFs for new members only.
