Not too tantalising of a notion though, after they didn't bring back Ronan's specialised hood piece. Wouldn't be surprised if it was a helmetless version  That said, the most likely outcome in my mind is her not being included in the first place, and the set coming with Valkyrie again instead.

Or neither- I think a buildable figure with just Thor is likely. Remember it could easily be based on the first battle of the film, the one where Surter is more realistically sized to what he'd be at a $25 price point than the one the size of a city at the end of the film.

Honestly what surprises me is the idea of two "final battle" sets featuring all of the Avengers. Hopefully there isnt a reprint of ohasing Vision in the AoU set lol.

Why wouldn't you want hi in a cheaper set? The cheapest one on BL is currently around $45.

Pretty stoked about the Marvel sets (except Groot obviously). Really hoping to get a solid Age of Ultron lineup in the $110 set. And I hope they do Surtur justice but the price kind of worries me

I would put money down on it being a buildable figure like Spider-Man, just with a Thor minifig included. Maybe downsized slightly, but the same general principle.

Glad we're finally getting a new Milano. Ever since the Infinity Saga Benator came out I've been wanting the Milano to get the same "UCS" treatment. Will also be good to get another Gamora after she was skipped over in the Volume 3 wave.

The Iron Legion/Ultron Bots battlepack is a definite buy. Will go great with the AOU Final Battle set. Surtur is also an unexpected but pleasant surprise. Not expecting much with the minifigures for this set but hopefully it can pave way for more Thor sets down the road.

On the fence for the Avengers Battle depending on how the build itself turns out. If its based on the first film I can't imagine it will offer much new in regards to the minifigures that hasn't already been recently covered.

I'm guessing Age of Ultron Final Battle is going to be another diorama like the No Way Home and Endgame sets were. It will be good to get a new Quicksilver and Ultron after so long. I wouldn't say no to a regular Vision either without the phasing effect from the tower.

Disappointed there aren't any additional X-Men sets in the summer wave. Hopefully the mansion at least gets a mid year release and we don't have to wait until November for it.

Of course I expect Mark 6 without damage! :-P

More likely MK. 7, since that was the suit used in the Battle of New York.

These sound excellent! I wonder if the Iron Man motorcycle will be a cheeky reference to the Iron Man 3 Mandarin's golf cart of doom set, and include the MK. 42 and Trevor Slattery's Mandarin.

According to Falconfan, 76294 should be a D2C X-Mansion

NGL, after seeing the summer wave, I don’t have much hope for the minifigure lineup. Probably just gonna be Magneto, most of 8 main ‘97 X-Men (I could see them leaving off Rogue so people need to buy the X-Jet), and Xavier.

Hopefully the build is great. Any word on whether it’s gonna be modular styled or closer to Rivendell and Arkham Asylum?

Wow! What a summer wave. The 2 that immediately have my interest are the Surtur Battle and the AoU Final Battle

Does anyone now have an updated list of set numbers for DC now that all the Marvel set numbers (atleast up until summer) are squared away?

Hopefully we at least get Mr. Sinister as well. We need more villains besides only Magneto all the time and it would be a shame not to reuse Ronan's new cape on him.

Just for the sake of argument, let’s compare this to the Sanctum Sanctorum. In that set, we got five new torsos, three new heads, two new legs, and a hair piece. Now, let’s look at what the remaining X-Men need.

Jean Gray: new torso, new head

Gambit: new legs, new torso, new head

Jubilee: new legs, new torso, new head

Prof X: new torso (debatable)

Now, let’s assume Beast gets a lab coat so he’s not the same as the CMF. (Also Storm gets plain legs so the CMF is still unique for her too).

Now, that’s nine figures and the same new prints as the Sanctum Sanctorum (except for a hairpiece).

Not saying it will play out this way, but I can also see Lego not dedicating the same budget (ie number of prints) to an X-Mansion that they would Avengers Tower and Daily Bugle which are based on well established and successful properties. Especially given how the summer wave is playing out, ie no X-Men sets. The Sanctum Sanctorum is probably a good basis for what to expect in terms of minifigures, new prints, and even price and scale we can expect.

edit: Now, granted, the reason we might not be seeing more X-Men sets in the summer could be because they’ve been marketed more to adults than to children for the past several years (and the more child friendly shows and movies are over a decade old at this point). Therefore, Lego will only advocate the budget for more X-Men if it’s 18+. But I’m gonna keep my expectations low.

I know we knew it was coming for a long time, but finally having a set number for it really makes me happy.

This must happen. I will not settle for anything less than a brick-for-brick remake of that build and it's inclusion in the secret wars movie.

Hopefully for Milano we get a new Drax with a reprint of that intricate torso, Korath, Nebula, and Gamora

I think the core guardians 1 team is a given, and I think Nebula has a fair shot, but I don't know if we'll get Korath. I think a re-used Ronan is more likely to be included as the sole villain of the set.

:excited: :excited: :excited:

The fact that it's D2C gives it so much potential. I suspect it will be modular.
Though certain characters would be great to have in LEGO form, I'm not really concerned for which minifigures come with it. I'm just glad we're getting the location

The way LEGO scales work, it could be either version of Surtur  Just look at Arishem. But you‘re probably right, we shouldn‘t expect any minifigs beyond Thor.

Korath would be a great addition, especially since Djimon Hounsou shows up everywhere and still doesn‘t have a minifig  But yeah, a repeat of Ronan is far more likely, sadly.

Yeah I wouldn't worry too much about scale, consider literally every set Lego has made based on a licenced property and you'll soon realise it's never been a priory.

I know it won't be exactly like the picture we've seen but I do find it Bizarre how people keep disregarding the potential fig selection that we've already seen.

It was : Magneto, Mystique, Sabertooth, Emma Frost, Beast, Storm, Cyclops, Charles Xavier and Wolverine.

Which seems reasonable to expect. Yes I'd like to see Jean Grey, Gambit, Nightcrawler and Jubilee and maybe we will but I'm treating what we've seen as my expectation.

Almost all of the Lego merchandise we’ve gotten for the X-Men in the past couple of years has either been explicitly branded as X-Men ‘97 based or very obviously inspired by it. That’s the main reason a lot of people are assuming the mansion will take inspiration from that and include the only four main cast members we haven’t yet seen.

Though I’m sure people are disappointed we might only be getting Thor in the Surtur set, I’m honestly over the moon because this might mean we get a road worn Thor minifigure :excited: (still his best movie costume)

The AoU final battle sounds exciting as well and gets me wondering what other battle scenes we could get in this black base style. The Titan battle from Infinity war would be my best bet, since that’d be mostly reused figures with only a new big fig Thanos and Iron Spider. Could also see the airport fight being done in a similar style

I'd point out that the preliminary image's figure selection seems to be largely inspired by the Fox movies - assuming the set is being retooled to be based more on X-Men '97 (which I think is safe to say they'll do for sure, given that all of the figures that they already have to bleed into the X-Mansion are from X-Men '97 sets, or the CMF figs) I think the character selection would naturally be changed to fit that show more.

Also worth noting that the preliminary image we saw was INCREDIBLY early development, more so than maybe any of the others from that survey leak. The Zelda Deku Tree had new prints and molds ready to go in its image, but the X-Mansion didn't even have a complete build, it was clearly just a facade.

I wouldn't expect that many new figures, but I would expect them to be pretty much entirely different from the survey leak. Repeating Beast, Storm, Wolverine, Magneto and Cyclops feels a bit much, and that'd leave the only new characters being ones without that much relevance to the show.

Ok, I like a lot of the things from this summer wave!

The Surtur set is a very pleasant surprise! I hope this means we'll get more sets from different films in the future, rather than just focusing on the Avengers and Iron Man movies. I'm expecting at best Thor and Hela, but wouldn't be surprised if it's just Thor. Exciting either way!

The Iron Legion vs Ultron Sentry battle back also sounds great, even if it doesn't make sense given that they never interacted in the film. This seems like a direct response to the lack of iron legion drones in the tower, and also a good way for people to army build the ultron drones. I'm hoping it's at least two of each, that would probably be ideal given the price.

The Avengers Battle is certainly vague. Given it seems to be based on the first Avengers, there really isn't much in terms of figures that we haven't gotten already, so I suspect a few reuses from the tower will show up. As for the build, no clue. Maybe we finally get a mini fig scale leviathan?

I'm very glad to see we're getting an AoU final battle set! This is probably the most fitting of all the final battles for the black base diorama style, given that the location of the battle is a circular building anyways. I'm hoping it feels more substantial than the two we've gotten so far, but I think I'm expecting too much given the amount of figures that will probably be included. I suspect the only bad guy here will be Ultron so that people are more compelled to get the battle pack, so I hope most of the figure selection is dedicated to the Avengers that we haven't yet gotten updated AoU outfits for. I'm also curious as to how Lego will make Ultron this time around, will they just use a printed head? Use the one piece Iron Man helmet? Or bring back the 2015 parts? (probably not the last one)

The large scale Milano is great for the fans who've wanted one, but I'll probably pass. Maybe we'll finally get a new Drax with printed arms? Also would be neat to see if they bring back Star Lord's helmet.

The midi-scale helicarrier could be great, but I don't like the small parts count. Hopefully it doesn't seem too overpriced.

As for what I'd realistically pick up, probably the Surtur set, the battle pack, and either of the Avengers sets. I never got any of the old AoU sets, so I'll probably be drawn to that one, but I don't want to rule out whatever the other one could be yet. Pretty exciting wave overall!

I’m not the biggest AoU fan but that final battle scene was a standout and makes way too much sense as a set. I’d be so happy if characters like Cap and Iron Man get dual moulded legs and printed arms this time, unlikely as that is. I wonder if Ultron will get a new mould, or whether they’ll simply ‘re-design’ the 2015 ones back into production; Ultron’s ‘jaw’ piece was still kicking 5 years ago in the AT-ST Raider set so some updated pieces would be sweet.

Surtur Battle sounds ace, 99% sure they’ll reuse AoU Thor here even though it’s not the same outfit. Hopefully Thor will have more accurate hair?

The big Milano is the most promising of the bunch for me - a massive colourful spaceship with an interior, interesting building techniques, hopefully cool figures, and a long enough build time to savour it all whilst binging some movies? Yes please! My expectations for this are astronomical after seeing how good the Benatar turned out.

I'm really hoping that Groot and Ultimate Ultron would both have long arms and legs.

I could see adult Groot using those, but Ultron? Absolutely not.

They don't make the minifigure bigger, only higher. Sokovia Ultron wasn't much bigger than a human, and he definitely was not slim.

Agreed; the Wrecker armour piece would be a better choice if LEGO wants to make Ultron taller and bulkier.

I'm not so sure about any of what either of you are saying.

I mean even if everything we've seen recently has had X-Men 97 look it's still mostly based on which characters are most popular in general, regardless of the show. Like it's been mostly Wolverine who was the biggest star of the Fox Movies, and all the others they've made recently are prominent in the films. ( Funnily enough the only time they made a Mutant who wasn't really big I  the movies was when they made Deadpool before his first film.)

Though my 3 points below aren't aimed directly at you and are more general and I'm not saying I don't think it's possible for them to retool the X-Mansion to be more X-Men 97 based, just that it is by not means the only option nor should it be an automatic assumption.

1- Joe public will still be more familiar with the characters that were prominent in the live action X-Men films, so those will get the biggest draw.

2- X-Men 97 isn't even out yet. I doubt they want to fully base such a big set on an unproven show, it will probably be Generic X-men like the Bugle was generic Spider-Man , maybe it will still have the X-Men 97 logo on the box but still doubt they'd snub a majorly popular character like Mystique for someone like Mister Sinister.

3- Unfinished or not, we've seen the set and it's minifigure line up. Yes I'm sure many changes are going to happen but why start every guess and predictions as if we know nothing? Maybe because people don't like what they see ( though as I always say, you shouldn't judge a set by it's prelim).

True, but it is a sequel to X-Men: The Animated Series which was definitely proven, if you ask me, and will probably share many of its designs. So it could be based on basically both of those series, but probably branded as X-Men '97, as you stated.
And in the end, it's all Marvel's X-Men, so character-wise there's still a LOT of options.

I'd also say that Joe Public probably isn't the target market for a $300 LEGO X-Men set... X-Men fans are.

And I'm not sure Mystique really is "majorly popular"? Sure, she was IN those movies a lot, but when people praise them they're generally talking about either of the Magneto and Xavier actors, or Jackman's Wolverine. Hell, I've seen the Beast portrayals discussed more. My experience very well could be the outlier here but I've just never seen anyone care that much about Mystique in the films.

If the character selection was based on public popularity using the films as a crutch, I'd say we'd be more likely to see, say, Cable or Colossus before Mystique, especially considering how close this set is gonna launch to Deadpool 3

Maybe I’m in the minority here, but I’d rather see Mystique, Sabertooth, and Emma Frost over Jean Grey, Gambit, and Jubilee. So I am certainty not assuming the lineup from the leak is wrong because I don’t want it to be. I assume it’s wrong because 1) it make sense for Lego to prioritize the other X-Men from ‘97 who will be on screens over characters who won’t be playing as prominent of a role and 2) as others have pointed out, the model there is likely recycled from 2014 or so when Lego may have been considering an X-Mansion because there is no way that model is close to a $300 set, even taking into account the crazy inflation we got with the X-Jet.

As for your points about the public and X-Men ‘97 being potentially risky, I’d argue the exact opposite. X-Men ‘97, which comes out later this year, will probably be the most recognizable property for the X-Men at the time the mansion releases, with the exception of Deadpool which I’m still not convinced Lego will be willing to touch.
